Iv Owed the expedition XL for two years now.
Shipping and dealing with go overland was fine. Let me know the delay in shipping and let me change my shipping address from Ontario to Alberta as I was hoping to have it for my family’s 2 week road trip. Delivery on a skid to my friends house and we had it installed easily with video and the paper work.

Only thing I’d say after two years now and it’s probably a given, hardware comes loose. I haven’t used the tent a lot. Iv used it 5 times this 2025. But the lock mechanism on one side is completely gone. I didn’t notice it even coming loose when using it. The light bar cover inside is always slid out of place, I leave my set up very well and water always pools up right at the ladder on the rain fly. Even tighten up the straps but it collets at that front support bar. When I bought it I was under the impression a pillow and sleeping bag would fit inside closed. I may have loaded it wrong but I don’t recommend. The ladder made two ugly indents it the plastic rain fly moonroof. Just don’t chance it and leave anything in it.

Iv never reached out to support after it was delivered. This by no means really on anyone, few minor inconveniences. I still show it off everywhere and people always point and ask. My insta has photos of it in use.

I've been using and abusing my tent (Journey Superlite) ever since I got it, it's been through rain, hail, nasty trails and has never let me down

The dimming lights are awesome, comfortable, and biggest for me is how quick and simple it is to set up camp. Always highly recommend & thanks team for the awesome tents!

Tent arrived in a serious shipping container. No issues with that. Tent itself, cant complain, looked great. Mattress was really good. Everything functioned as it should. The only thing i would change is maybe add a couple more internal hooks for the insulaiion to tighten it up along front of the tent as it kinda sags a bit there when it really doesnt need too. Other than that pretty good all around. Everything else was pretty tight and clean. Will fit 2 thin people...lol. It will close with the insulation inside as well so you might be able to put a couple symmer sleeping bags in it. Good value for sure.

Best bang for your buck if you are planning on getting an RTT. Bought the expedition mini and the quality is fantastic. They include winter insulation kit and an awning that zips to the entrance of the tent making it very useful specially when its raining.
Customer support is fantastic as well, very responsive to all the questions I asked them.

I would recommend Go Overland Canada to anybody without any hesitation. The tent is really comfortable and easy to use. We were using it for 3 months now and the experience is perfect.

I must say that Go Overland Canada has truly created a wonderful experience from the moment you first discover their brand, to the moment you sleep in your own roof top tent. They are incredibly caring and thoughtful and I felt that I was always looked after. I have the Journey RTT and it’s fantastic. The build quality is great, the fit and finish is super clean and the accessories are very well thought out. The tent is set up in minutes and with ease. The sleep is so comfortable, it frankly was one of the best sleeps of my life. I’m ready to move in. All in all, I will be a Go Overland Canada fan boy until the very end. 10/10 WILL recommend.

I am happy with the tent, and will have the opportunity to fully test it in the coming weeks. For now, I will comment on delivery, support, and setup.

I picked up the tent at the warehouse in Surrey. The process was a bit confusing, and Pival booked me in on a holiday originally, and then were closed on this day. Eventually I was able to get this sorted, and picked up the tent. They told me to bring someone to help, as they would not assist me in loading the box into my truck. In the end, they did in fact load it directly into my truck, and so my friend didn't actually need to accompany me on this trip (they are only open 9-3pm on work days, making this frustrating).

Go Overland coordinated the purchase of my bed rack as well, which was shipped in 3 total boxes. My visibility was limited however to 1, which caused me a lot of stress and confusion when I began my installation, only to realize I was missing pieces. I was also frustrated to learn that the mounting gear and various parts were hidden under the mattress and required me to completely unfold the tent to find these hidden treasures. There was no guidance to this whatsoever, and again I lost time and experienced stress trying to figure out where these missing pieces were. I've found the instructions provided by Go Overland to be horrible. The pictures are not accurate, some parts (e.g. various washers) were sent, but not listed in the instructions. The roof rack for the tent itself is still not installed because I can't for the life of me figure out what the instructions are trying to convey. These should be completely redone IMO.

Finally, this took me a week to install on my own given the above road blocks. Go Overland was not very helpful in their support. From the very first message, I requested them to call me, as this would have been so much more efficient. To this day, they haven't called me, and haven't been overly helpful over email. This surprised me, as I've heard great things about the support here. Hopefully, things get better moving forward. It's been a stressful week.

My Journey X lite was shipped and received within the week, arrived in a really nice crate. Inspected it as Go Overland requested and was extremely happy. No real video out there but install is super easy. We tested it out the next weekend and it was all we hoped for. Super comfy and blackout was nice. I was approached by many people about my RTT was basically a G.O. Rep. Highly recommend!

They have the best price in Canada for rugged storage boxes, no duty or shipping fees either!

Order was easy and arrived on time.Packaage was in good shape.

Hello, we just bought the Expedition Mini. It was unbelievably delivered to our door in the BC interior for free (!) in a skookum protective crate. We're lifetime tent campers, and epic road trippers and wanted to add this luxury off ground option. We've just had one practice night and were so impressed with the ease of set up, the roominess and comfort, the plentiful cool storage and lighting details, all weather window options. Supreme design details. We're excited to take it Yellowknife and follow the Rockies down to Waterton this September. Thank you!

I used the tent for three nights on top of my boat, and it worked great. It came as advertised, and I had no issues putting it together. I especially liked the video tutorial, which made the setup a breeze.

I recently used my GoOverland Canada Expedition XL rooftop tent during a rainy weekend camping trip, and overall, I’m really impressed with its performance. Despite continuous rain, the tent held up great—absolutely no leaks, which gave us peace of mind and a dry, comfortable sleep.

Setup and takedown were smooth, and the tent felt spacious and well-ventilated, even with the weather closed in. Materials seem solid, and the zippers and stitching all feel high-quality.

One issue I did notice is some rubbing on the skylight roof where the ladder touches it when the tent is closed. I’ve been using the provided ladder cover, but it still seems to make contact and could potentially cause wear over time. It’s something to watch out for, and I’ll probably look into adding extra padding or adjusting the ladder position to prevent long-term damage.

Overall, I’m happy with the Expedition XL—weatherproof, reliable, and comfortable. Just a minor design oversight with the ladder storage that I hope the company addresses in future versions.
