I did a lot of research before deciding on Go Overland Canada for my RTT. The final decision was made with the very helpful staff at Red Bear Outdoors in Toronto who are a fantastic distributor for GOC. I purchased the Explorer X and it fits and looks great over the bed of my Tundra. Now, since I have been travelling for work since purchasing, I haven't had a chance to use the tent, so this review is just about the purchasing process.

The tent was incredibly easy to purchase online and, via the online purchase form, have it shipped directly to Red Bear for installation. The tent is a very solid build and came complete with winter insulation kit and a great zip-in awning. I had a few doubts once I set it up at home the first time, but GOC were quick to respond to my questions.

Once I have a chance to go camping in it, I will know for sure how great the Explorer X is, but I am already impressed with the ease and speed of setup.

I would recommend GOC to anyone looking for a RTT. Especially for Canadians to buy local.

Overland was fantastic to deal with, there attention to detail, responsiveness, and sense of humour ( when it was user error, on my side) was exceptional!

I love my Journey X Lite and tell everyone to get one!

Vito and the team have been very easy to communicate with and are always open to help answer questions. As for the Journey X Lite it’s a great product, I love that it was easy to install and can support lots of weight on the tents roof racks even when open. I would highly recommend going with Go Overland.

Excellent product but nothing is ever perfect so one small recommendation would be to strengthen the metal rod nylon pockets from the rain-guard at the entry point or jus go with grommets like the others that are great. Mine are already slowly tearing apart.

Awesome tents and an awesome company. We've had our tent for a couple of years now and LOVE the convenience of it. It's so easy to set up and take down. It's also super comfortable.

I purchased a roof top tent last year for a trip to Whitehorse. At the time there was no inventory and I explained the date I was leaving and was told the tent would be delivered before that date. It arrived when they said it would, the tent was easy to install on my Colorado and the trip to Whitehorse was fantastic. The other people I was with had a regular ground tent. Before they had theirs out of the bag I was set up and having a cocktail. Had about 15 nights last year in it and about the same year. Great company and great products.

Really happy of my purchase, good service, they send my expedition XL in the same week ready for a 2 weeks trip.

I have had my rooftop tent for 1 and a half years now and am absolutely loving it! We camp in all seasons and the tent has been perfect! Highly recommend go overland products. Purchasing was an easy process and it was delivered so quick. Super easy to set up at take down, all around great experience with go overland!

We discovered late that our tent has dent when we installed on our vehicle. So bad that dent is under the tent unit that you will not noticed it until delivery guy let you sign the paper. Shipping company doesn't take care of the unit. I contact sales rep but i was the one blaming it of not checking it. Unit is nice but service value is low for expensive tent.

Je suis propriétaire d'une tente de toit de Go Overland Canada depuis quelques mois déjà. J'ai choisi le modèle Journey X Lite pour ses dimensions étroites qui me permette d'accéder à mon garage sans devoir le retirer à chaque fois. Je n'ai jamais trouvé une tente aussi mince d'une autre compagnie. La tente est superbe et les matériaux semble de bonne qualité. Les accessoires compris avec la tente sont bien pratique. Personnellement, moi qui aime dormir sur le côté, j'ai un peu de misère avec l'épaisseur du matelas (c'est le désavantage d'un modèle aussi mince). J'ai acheté un matelas auto-gonflant pour faire une seconde couche que je peux laisser dans la tente en permanence pour aider au problème.

Le plus gros problème que j'ai eu avec la tente est durant la livraison. La tente est arrivé chez moi endommagé et le livreur a laissé la tente devant chez moi sans appelé ou cogné. C'est dommage pour un produit d'une si grande valeur. Je recommanderais à la compagnie de changer de compagnie de livraison ou d'emballer la tente dans une caisse de bois plutôt qu'une boîte en carton. Au moins, le service client a toujours répondu à mes questions et de façon très rapide. J'ai demandé si je pouvais avoir un dédommagement pour ce qui s'est passé dans la livraison, mais pour l'instant rien n'a été fait. Le service client m'a répondu très vite qu'il cherchait une solution avec la compagnie de livraison, mais pour l'instant, après plusieurs mois, je n'ai pas reçu de dédommagement. J'espère avoir une solution sous peu.

Dans l'ensemble, le produit me satisfait.

Go Overland tents are the best rooftop tents you can buy in Canada hands down. Very happy with how much you get for the price of the tent. You pay a smaller price than competitors but get a ton of add ons that competitors charge a premium for such as winter insulation. I had a small issue with my tent a year into use and Vito the owner had replacement parts sent to me before we concluded our conversation about the issues with my tent. The customer service is amazing and I will always stand by the Go Overland brand and recommend them to other people!

Could not be happier with my odyssey. Great quality, super easy to set up and take down. Would definitely suggest using lock nuts to secure the tent to the roof rack. The nuts provided continually loosen off. We woke to heavy rain on our first use and had zero issues/leaks.

My wife and I purchased the summit from the folks at gooverland on February 2024. Originally I thought it was a bit pricey as it was above our spending budget but we thought we’d get it anyways. After testing this ten the whole camping season, through rain, heavy winds, cold and heat. Let me tell you. This thing is solid. The quality of this tent is top notch. This is the best investment we have made. And the service with the folks at gooverland has been outstanding. Anytime we emailed them we got an answer in less than a day. Thank you so much guys.

The product was exactly as described and ordered. The communication and shipping process was smooth and simple. Quick responses and we were updated for the shipping process. We are really happy with our overland tent and are on our second season of using it. I stallion and set up was a breeze on out 4runner. I did alot of research before purchasing my expedition mini. I looked at all the competitors and Go Overland Canada checked all the boxes for what I was looking for. I had questions and GOC promptly answered in a straight forward truthful way which in turn put my mind at ease . My expedition mini is mounted over the roof of my Toyota Tacoma and I use it on a regular basis, the bed is comfortable, my wife and I get a sound sleep and enjoy the fact that we are off the ground . Quality, well built product with great customer service. If I were to do it all again I would go with Go Overland Canada in a heartbeat .

This is my 2nd year using my Overland summit RTT, great design, solid product, waterproof windproof.
The customer service is exceptional.
The insulated liner is a bonus as it extends overlanding/camping well into the fall.

This was my first venture into roof top tents. I had done along research and found the market in Canada, and living in Newfoundland usually complicated things as shipping was generally extra. Luckily I found GoOverLand Canada. From the first email I sent enquiring about the ExpeditionXL to the email I sent for advice when I was mounting it to my truck, the response time has been amazing and customer service stellar. My tent was back ordered when I ordered it and I knew that as the back order date and delivery time was stated on the site, but was was amazing were the updates from the company every step of the way, I never had to wonder if the shipment was delayed because there were frequent updates. When my delivery day came, I was amazed at the packaging. Installation took me a little longer than I expected because of the rack I was mounting it to but on a standard rack it would likely take minutes. Looks great on the truck and setup and take down is easy. Second night we used it the wind was super high and tent was fine. Can’t wait to get out in it again. Would highly recommend OverLandCanada.
