Donna Reynolds and her team were extremely efficient. They dealt with my re-mortgage expeditiously. I had no issues whatsoever. The transaction went through quickly with follow up phone calls if I was not too sure about any element of the transaction.

This was particularly impressive as it was taking place over the holiday period and there was a tight timescale as my existing mortgage deal was about to run out. i was hugely grateful and would recommend them and use them again.

I was referred to Gordons Property lawyers through L&C Mortgages. I decided to proceed with using their services to remortgage my property as their estimated quote was cheaper than 2 others I had received from local firms, and they reassured me that they had dealt with plenty of new build remortgages/Help to Buy equity loan share acquisitions.

I chose Gordons Property Lawyers due to a competitive quote (£395 via MoneySupermarket in July 2025) and their positive Trustpilot reviews. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet expectations.

By completion in October 2025, the total fees charged were close to £800, as shown on the final statement. This was significantly higher than the original quote and removed the main reason I chose Gordons over other providers.

The remortgage process also took considerably longer than expected, which resulted in me remaining on a standard variable rate mortgage for longer and incurring additional monthly costs.

My case handler was Lizette Okyere. Apart from one early phone call where she communicated professionally, I was then unable to speak with her again despite multiple attempts. Voicemails and messages left via colleagues were not returned, and the accuracy of information provided was inconsistent.

In early October 2025, I sent a detailed email outlining a clear timeline of events where contradicting information was provided by her, and asking for clarification regarding an outstanding issue, as well as a realistic completion timeline. This email received no direct response. To prevent further delay, I reached out and obtained the required document myself from the management company, who confirmed she had not requested this document from them, and provided it to Gordons.

Overall, when considering the final cost, delays, additional mortgage expenses, and time spent chasing progress, the service was disappointing and not cost-effective. While Gordons has strong reviews, my experience suggests outcomes may depend on the individual case handler.

We had a lovely experience with Property Lawyers during our remortgage process. Dominika was incredibly helpful and kept us consistently updated on the progress and next steps throughout. I would highly recommend this firm to anyone. The overall cost was also very reasonable and well priced.
