it’s always a bit of a risk buying things online that you can’t actually have in your hand and feel and touch and examine closely. The pen arrived, but I realized it sort of had some rough sharp edges, and the silver threads felt more like thin rough aluminum, so I pulled out some of my special tools to help eliminate the sharp threaded edges and burnished some of the leather so that it won’t catch on anything and unravel. I also added a bit of beeswax to make the threads screw in and out more smoothly. The pen now feels smooth in the hand with no sharp leather edges to catch or unwrap or unravel and the pen cap now posts on the barrel better with the smoothed threads and the pen weight feels good. It now feels and looks like a premium pen and should last for many years to come.

Il mio ultimo acquisto, di diversi, è stato per un regalo che ritenevo importante, racchiudeva un 50 esino compleanno, subito successivo al Natale, per una persona che stimo particolarmente, ma che essendomi gerarchiacamente superiore (ma non "vecchio") non volevo risultasse, eccessiva, ma neppure dozzinale, di classe ma senza scivolare nella pesantezza. Impresa non facile ma, come sempre, hanno superato le aspettative.

I bought my first Grifos Pen in 2017. Since then I have bought many more and always find the craftsmanship to be first rate. The guillochè engraving in solid sterling silver is their specialty and is consistently impressive. Each of the pens, whether all silver or incorporating Italian acrylic or exotic materials, is beautiful. They are also great writers and are meant for the rigors of daily use. Finally, the pricing is beyond reasonable for a handmade in Italy product. Grifos never disappoints and their customer service is also outstanding!

I’ve been buying Grifos pens since 2019 and I will say they are extremely reliable but offer beautiful style. I carried a Harlequin as well as their Fly me to the Moon pen throughout my high school career. I was able to carry the pens for about a day and a half without refilling while taking copious notes (I’ve owned other pens that last far less so this is great for me) and never experiencing any blockages or ink flow issues. Even if I left a pen to sit for a while with ink in it, all I had to do to get it writing was run it under a sink for a couple seconds or refill the pen because of the high quality of the feed. For the materials being used and at the price point these pens cannot be beat. I’ve owned Visconti pens that are in the same price category made with much worse quality and very lack luster materials. If you’re looking for a high quality, well writing, beautiful, and affordable Italian fountain pen. These are for you!
