I have just had all my windows and doors replaced by Halstead Glass and I am very impressed with the quality of their products and the team who made this whole process a surprisingly pleasant experience. The initial quotation was very detailed and their surveyor was really helpful, when he came, in addressing any concerns I had about the small print in the contract. Their installers were polite, friendly and professional and left everywhere clean and tidy each day. I would thoroughly recommend this company. They are not the cheapest but the quality of their product and the professionalism of their employees was worth paying a little extra for.

Honest Review - after looking hours on the web I decided to go with Halstead Doors. Not sure why they have a low rating but the doors are perfect. Even my builder said the quality was very good for how much they cost! Quick delivery under 2 weeks and would recommend to anyone!!! Don’t listen to other reviews, thank you!

I recently had all my windows , front door fitted by Halstead glass I found the whole experience a delight from the sales team who helped me decide on the best options and price , to the installation team that turned up on time and were very friendly and tidy , the new windows look amazing I’m very happy with them and would recommend anyone to choose halstead glass .

There is nothing favourable about this Company for a potential customer. They don’t care about Customers. If you are in a dispute about their work and their goods, most people would withhold the final balance, which is only reasonable. If you do this with Halstead Glass they will threaten you with debt collectors. Reputable Companies would make every effort to resolve the dispute and not resort to lies and threatening behaviour. I replaced my old wooden frame glazing with patio doors in my lounge with a modern double glazed unit. I sincerely wish I had my old wooden unit back. 2cm of black rubber is showing at the bottom and you can see daylight through it.The whole purpose of this unit is to keep the house warmer and keep out drafts.

Great service from start to finish. Honest family run business. Had whole house refitted including doors and the quality of the fit is top notch. Fitters were nice chaps and kept everything clean & tidy as they worked. I know 2 other people that recommended them to me and am so pleased they did! Would recommend

We had two doors replaced by Halstead Glass. From start to finish we had excellent professional service from the salesman to the fitters. All were polite, efficient, hard working, and nothing was too much trouble. Every thing was explained thoroughly we would recommend them without hesitation. Excellent service and quality.

We had 5 units blown in our conservatory and needed them replacing. Wanting to support local business, we called Halstead Glass for a quote.
A very polite young man took some details and said he would arrange for someone to come over and take some measurements. This happened within a few days.
We were happy with the prices, (after getting quotes from other local companies) so decided to go ahead with Halstead Glass.
We were informed when the units would be ready and the fitter came over and installed our new windows. He was running late as the jobs before us over-ran but we had a courtesy call from the office, to apologise and let us know when the fitter was on his way. (It wasn't a real issue as we were working from home at the time.)
No fuss, no mess, job done.
I would definitely recommend Halstead Glass. They're honest, down to earth and provide a great service.

I originally contacted Halstead Glass in March for a composite door quote. One of their salesmen came over and talked through our various options. Our first impressions were good, he seemed knowledgeable and polite. I expressed a few of my concerns and asked whether it was possible to request one of their better fitters to ensure that the fitting wasn’t rushed and finished to the highest standard. He said we could, but it may mean waiting longer for the door to be fitted which we were more than happy to do. I had personally seen a couple of their installations which weren’t up to standard, hence my concern. We received our quote via email a few days later.

We decided to get a few other quotes for comparison, but ultimately decided to go with Halstead Glass as they were local. Once we’d finalised our colour choice, I replied to their email with some questions regarding their guarantees. I also asked whether our quotation could be amended to include some options which were mentioned to the salesman at our initial discussion but weren’t listed or specified on the quote. After 2 weeks of not receiving a reply I called Halstead Glass and asked to speak to the lady who had sent over our quote. I was told she was on leave but that she’d call me when she returned. The guy I spoke to was surprised that she hadn’t replied to my email as she’d only been on leave for a day or two. A further few days passed and still no reply, so I called again. This time I spoke to the lady I’d been dealing with via email who said that she’d reply ASAP so that we could proceed with our order. Later that same day, I received an email from the salesman which said that Halstead Glass were unable to accept any new composite door jobs until further notice due to a delay in raw materials. He also said that they were actively looking for alternative suppliers and would be in contact as soon as they had heard back from them. I was confused and annoyed as to why none of this was mentioned by the lady on the phone if this was the case.

After not hearing anything for 5 weeks, I called again and spoke to a different lady on reception. I asked if they were now taking composite door orders and she seemed confused. I explained what the salesman had told me via email and asked whether they had ever stopped taking orders. She confirmed they hadn’t, and that the current lead time was 3-4 months (which is what I was quoted initially anyway). They were also still using the same manufacturers!! Why was I told that they had put a stop to new composite door orders if they were only experiencing small delays? I was then put through to the original lady I’d been dealing with who I hoped would be able to offer an explanation. She seemed ‘unaware’ of the situation, even though she had been copied into the salesman’s email 5 weeks prior. I asked if we could be offered a goodwill for the inconvenience which she said she’d check. The salesman later emailed me, he obviously didn’t want to explain himself over the phone, apologised for the late reply to my initial email back in March (but offered no other apology) and finally answered my questions (since I never received a reply from the lady). He didn’t explain why he lied to me about Halstead Glass being unable to accept any new orders of composite doors, and didn’t address my request of a goodwill. The email also said that they’d be in contact with their manufacturer to discuss an error in their brochure (which I flagged at our initial discussion). After not hearing anything for 3 weeks, I emailed again. It’s now been 5 weeks since my follow up email and surprise surprise still no reply.

Halstead Glass obviously can’t be bothered to answer simple questions regarding their products and would prefer an easy sale and customers who don’t question a sub standard fitting. I agree with another reviewer who said that the salesman they had completely changed his tune after their initial consultation (I can only assume this was the same salesman we had based on our experience).

Awful service, couldn't give a damn with fixing a spring in a sash window they put in. We didn't use the window for over a year, first time we used it internal spring had gone say said over a year guarantee so David Hall couldn't care less. The same for stick-on cross bars falling off.

Recently put an extension on the back of the house and used Halstead glass for a couple of windows and and patio door. From start to finish I was extremely happy with their service, great communication and a really tidy job from the fitters, who also left the area spotless once they were done. I had a couple of separate queries along the way and they were very good at getting back to me with an answer. All round great experience and will be recommending to my family and friends.

We had four windows replaced, including a ground floor bay window. The entire process from initial quote to fitting the windows was efficient and everyone we dealt with was friendly and polite.

The fitters were polite and efficient, explaining the process at each step of the way whilst also being mindful of there being a house full of people and pets! The job was done with great attention to detail; we were particularly impressed by how they cleaned up, hoovering the floors and leaving the rooms clean at the end of of the job.

We also appreciated the extra care and attention paid when fitting our bathroom window, where they took extra care to fix the tiles surrounding the old window frame which had come loose. They had talked through with us before hand about the potential problems and how they would leave it as good as possible, not just the bathroom but also the bedrooms where a slightly wider trim meant we have not needed to do any redecorating.

Honest and hardworking company, but most importantly a business established for over 30 years and local. The products are as good if not better then some of the larger national companies, and at a fair price. Would recommend.

Had major work done on house done with the Halstead Glass. All windows, doors and guttering on property. Apart from the long wait to start (they must be busy) the work was done to an excellent standard and very pleased with finished product. We had problem with one of the new French doors and they came back in good time and fixed. Would recommend.

Good enough products and prices competitive with other suppliers. Would question some of the sales advice but the owner is a reasonable person who has his moral compass pointing the right way. So when things got a bit messy during an ugly product dispute we were still able to have a pragmatic discussion and get a resolution. Not all company's can or will do it and genuinely take criticism onboard and move forward with the feedback. So I respect them for that and I'm confident the pickle we found ourselves in wont happen again.
On reflection I would recommend the company as its underpinned with good ethics.

my husband and I employed this firm and are so glad we did! Everyone who did any part of replacing our conservatory was 101% professional.. real "old school" values - they not only did a superb job, they cleaned up as they went along and when finished made sure the site was clean and tidy for us (truth to tell it was better than before they started.. am very happy to speak to anyone who has doubts, just ask HG for our phone details..
