First time seller. Whole experience very helpful
Was seeking info for moveing house and always see hamish adverts whether it be Facebook, radio, YouTube etc. Very good marketing so made an online enquiry and got a phonecall from kelly that evening. She ran through all they offer and what they can do so went with them. Straight away she organised valuation, home report appointment to get things going. She then organised photos and video and got the flat on the market. She works 7 days a week and does evening views aswell which also helps as most people work 9-5 and can't make viewings. So that was added bonus. Had the place sold very quickly. Any questions I had kelly would reply anytime of the day so always available to help. Overall fantastic service, always available and sorted everything that needs done for an offer to go in and the sale to go through.

We were let down by an online agent which meant our property was delayed in going to market.
James got in-touch, arranged the photos, the listing, and within days our property was live. 48hours later we had accepted an offer on our property as James identified the right buyers to come and view.

James was helpful and open with the entire process. Constantly available to answer all our questions and to support on our sale and purchase. Took our home a little longer than we had hoped but the market can't always go the way you want it to.

A quality service for Sellers
Kelly was an excellent Agent to deal with throughout the selling process. She’s impressively proactive and organised viewings efficiently. She provided frequent updates and guidance and made herself available whenever required to answer any obscure questions! Can’t recommend her highly enough. I’ve just sold my house with Hamish
I’ve just sold my house with Hamish Homes and I’m now in the process of buying through them as well. Stephen was fantastic when it came to the sale—informative, honest, and professional throughout. He made what could have been a stressful process feel much more manageable.

Smooth & Stress-Free
From the moment Kellie walked into my parents’ home, I knew this was the right company to work with. They may not be the cheapest, but compared to their competitors, everything was explained clearly and thoroughly, without any pressure selling or unrealistic promises about buyers already lined up.
Sometimes it’s worth paying a little extra to receive the level of service you deserve. From the initial meeting to my parents’ bungalow being listed took just two weeks, and it sold within a week of going on the market—an excellent result in my opinion.
I was kept fully informed throughout, with updates on viewing dates and times, as well as feedback and offers from potential buyers. I can’t rate Hamish Homes highly enough, especially Kellie, who understood my situation from the start and made the whole process smooth and stress-free.
I would highly recommend Hamish Homes to anyone considering buying or selling a property.

Absolutely disappointed with the…
Absolutely disappointed with the service,from Hamish homes was told that they would sell my property within a month. Took near 9 months. Signed up for what I was told a fee for everything, turns out that they doubled the agreed price! Seller beware! I feel like I got ripped off!

We are extremely disappointed to read your comments, as they do not reflect the reality of the service provided or the agreement that was clearly in place from the outset.
Firstly, no estate agent can guarantee a sale within a specific timeframe. While we always aim to achieve results as quickly as possible, the time it takes to sell a property is influenced by market conditions, buyer demand and the individual property itself.
Suggesting that a sale was “promised” within a month is simply not accurate. What we do guarantee is maximum exposure and effort and in your case, your property was extensively marketed across multiple platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube and radio advertising, supported by professional photography, videography and drone work. We also offer extended availability including evening appointments and weekend viewings, something very few agents provide.
In terms of fees, we categorically reject the suggestion that costs were “doubled” or unclear. All fees were clearly explained at the outset, detailed within the contract you signed, and are also openly stated across our website and marketing materials. Your agreement was based on a fixed fee (not a percentage), alongside standard and necessary costs associated with selling a property.
These include professional marketing (carried out by a specialist external company), as well as the Home Report and, where required, a refresh once it expires.
These are not hidden charges, they are standard elements of any property sale in Scotland. Importantly, we cover all of these costs upfront, with payment only due once the property has successfully sold.
It is also important to note that, upon completion of the sale, only the fixed fee was initially settled, with the remaining agreed costs left outstanding. This was later resolved following clarification through your solicitors, who confirmed the contractual position.
We take great pride in the level of service we provide, the time we invest, and the financial commitment we make upfront on behalf of our clients. To present this as a lack of service or transparency is not only inaccurate, but also unfair.
Misrepresenting clearly agreed terms after a successful sale, particularly once those terms have been reaffirmed through legal representatives reflects an approach that is not respectful to the work carried out or to the professional standards upheld across the UK property industry.

Tony Lister, after first viewings, did not send feedback.
He did not consult with me or with the buyers about conditions of sale and this caused more emails than necessary between myself and my solicitor.
He tried to bill me for a home report that I was not aware of and which was done while the first was still valid.
I received the offer from a solicitor in Motherwell even though my own solicitor was named in contract.
The bill was sent to my solicitor before she received the offer and before i agreed to the conditions of sale.
My demand for house keys to be returned and the sale sign to be removed was ignored.
I complained to the company and I was dissatisfied at the responses.
Hamish Homes more expensive than other quotes and a lot of money paid out just for someone to come to the house to open the door for viewers.
And I regret giving my house keys to Tony Lister.

Stephen was so helpful when trying to sell house when i did not live in the area after a bereavement. Helping with issues i had outwith just selling the house. Great video showing the house and good website. Really nice and approachable and helped with so much more. Allways contactable (think he works 24/7) lol. Very disappointing experience
1 star based on my personal experience. Unfortunately this was an extremely poor experience from start to finish. Communication was disappointing and overall I was left very unhappy with how matters were handled. I won’t go into detail publicly, but I would not use this service again.

Our home sold in only two weeks!
Hamish Homes came to our attention via a colleague’s recommendation after their and their husband’s bungalow was sold for a good price by them. Both my wife and I were very impressed with Stephen Snr’s businesslike attitude regarding potential buyer screening so that only those ready to buy were shown around. Our home sold in only two weeks! HH’s George also handled the viewing of the home we later purchased, which simplified transactions greatly. We highly recommend the friendly and motivated service that HH provide. The goodie bag of mugs, coasters, apron and bottle of wine were the cherry on the top - even to generously replacing with two a mug we broke.
