The Handmade Bosses Shop Critique was fabulous! So detailed and perfect advice for how I could improve my shop. I had a LOT of changes I needed to make and in the critique they pointed out so many areas where I could improve. The team takes care to look at every single aspect of the shop, not just doling out generic advice. I like that they didn’t try to constantly sell me on “other paid options” they had available, like a lot of “experts” do. I have been a member of the HBSA course for around 3&1/2 years now and it has really transformed my business from a hobby to earning a full time monthly wage! Steph's way of teaching really resonates with me and I love her friendly (but no nonsense) approach. the course gives you all the tools you need to create and sustain a successful handmade business online.
It really is about finding what makes you and your products unique rather than focussing on trends or 'profitable niches' which change quickly.
With lifetime access I have been able to go over parts of the course year on year and watch the updated trainings. This has been so valuable for me and keeps my business on track.

I purchased the social media power pack.
It was rubbish, very airy fairy, nothing concrete, nothing you wanted to use or implement straight away.
I emailed to say so. Got a return email with a curtesy sorry and what could they do to help.
I asked for a refund but was sent a copy of their t’s & C’s stating no refunds.
This is against consumer law that protects purchases on the internet where you have 14 days money back entitlement.
Result I have now received a full refund
I listened to the webinar which was just a high pressure sales pitch with an open door that counted down. Oh the door is only open twice a year 🤔
I left the webinar early as it was obviously pre recorded, or should I say recycled, not a webinar then.
Afterwards I was bombarded with emails reminding me of the diminishing time opportunity to sign up to an expensive and fairly unknown course.
They set themselves up as some sort of training company, there to teach you how to improve your business when they don’t actually know, or even ask, what your business is. They try a one size fits all approach. Well I’m not without some marbles, I’ve been in education for over 40 years, I’ve been an advisor at national level, I was an executive headteacher. This content is the kind you can access almost anywhere and much of it for free. The social media power pack content has little practical strength and the kind of course I would have dismissed in my professional capacity. However, this course was not accessible until paid for.
My advice, search for what you need not what pops up into your inst feed.

I can't say enough good things about HBSA! The value-omg! It's beyond any other coaching out there, and I've had multiple. The true compassion and dedication the staff have for your success is something that can't be faked or bought. They give you everything to set you up and then 50 steps further. I mean, they go so far as to get you set up with email marketing, building your own FB group or blog, Pinterest, photography courses- I could go on. My shop would have been closed months ago had I not invested in HBSA. This course has paid for itself over and over again with my increased revenue.

i have had my etsy store about 2 years now, and the beginning of 2023 I was about to give up on Etsy, but I thought I would give it one last push. I had being following Steph for quite some time, in her free groups and watched a lot of her youtube videos. I decided to take the plunge and invest in my Etsy store. This last year my business has gone from strength to strength. In October 2023 I made my first £4000 month on Etsy. from Steph and the teams help. The community is so supportive, and I love jumping on the live calls, especially when I am in my overwhelmed business owner phase, the lives always give me motivation, the free groups are good but the HBSA is worth every penny.

The Handmade Bosses course helped me know how to properly set up an Etsy shop and build it to 6 figures of annual sales. It was invaluable in helping me avoid the pitfalls and mistakes recommended by other so-called "Etsy experts".

Part of why Handmade Bosses is so good is because Steph (the creator) has actually done what she teaches. She has struggled through the start up phase and built multiple successful Etsy shops, so she knows what she talks about.

The community support through the HBSA Facebook group is also a wonderful resource. Most of the time, entrepreneurship is a lonely endeavor, but HBSA offers a group of like-minded people who are going through the same process and challenges. It is quick and easy to ask for help with specific challenges, find accountability, or celebrate wins with the team!

If you have or are considering building a business around a handmade product, I cannot recommend Handmade Bosses strongly enough!

Such a wonderful support group and a deep well of knowledge! I started the HBSA last summer after finishing graduate school and my shop fell flat since I had been neglecting it for my studies. The HBSA course is easy to understand with short, organized, bite sized videos. I feel like I have a “team” that supports me when I get stuck which is so wonderful after feeling stuck and so alone as a small business owner. I did a 4 week course with Steph over a 2 month period!

Her knowledge on Etsy and insta is great! She helped me loads with my Etsy store and planning. She also helped me come up with content ideas to gain new followers and engage the ones I already have.

The course is great and so much more information than what I was expecting!
It get’s you to think of things that hadn’t even occurred to me. I am still completing some sections but have seen a great increase in views, etc already with the things I have changed during the course. You have to be willing to put in the work and to use all the available resources to get the most out of the course. Another major plus is that the team are SO lovely and helpful they are there for you with anything you need and are very genuine and friendly. Thank you so much Steph and the team! I’ve followed Steph for a while after coming across her you tube videos as I have an Etsy shop. I ended up purchasing the course which is so in-depth, really helpful and informative. It took me a while to put the time aside to get stuck into the course around my previous job but now I’m in full swing and seen the benefits.

What can I say! Stephs business advice and all round energy has made HUGE shifts in my business over the last 2 years! Not only has she sooo much passion for what she does, she truly cares about each and every biz she works with, always putting in 110% to every piece of content that she puts out into the world. You just have to go and watch one of her lives to see, feel and reflect that energy - if you’ve been contemplating joining HBSA (or even just consuming even her free content is AH-MAZING!) then do it! 💪 You won’t regret it!

Steph is an absolute pleasure to work with and I cannot recommend her enough to any handmade business owner out there. Not only is her free content extremely valuable on Youtube and Instagram, but her Facebook group community is so friendly and supportive.

Subscribed months ago and then suddenly started receiving emails again, and despite unsubscribing they didn't stop. I emailed to ask to be removed manually and instead of a simple apology and yes I'll do it there were multiple emails back and forth. If they can't get an email list right (and gdpr compliant) it doesn't bode well for paid services

My Etsy shop does well but I wanted to get some tips on no sales/slow sales week.
Her video came a cross my insta fyp.

The free webinar was ridiculous…
Practically 1 hour and 55 minutes of her saying the same thing 10 different ways.
Stephaine also mentioned this wouldn’t be one whole sales pitch but it seems to me she just given little to no breadcrumbs throughout the video which lead to her enormous sales pitch about a 1k lifetime course on how to do well on Etsy.
She babbled about this for atleast 30 minutes.
This wasn’t a “live” webnair either it was pre recorded and she had what it seems fake comments she was reading out😒 and these commenters all signed up for the course lmao I do not believe all those commenters joined this 1k course! It makes no sense, if you’re there because you feel you’re getting no Etsy sales and making little to no money then how can you afford that?

Some of advice she did give was questionable, saying things like SEO’s aren’t important amongst other things.

On top of that she said right at the beginning that we would all get free planners etc… and when the link was shown right at the end of the video, I typed in the link, low and behold “ Oh Snap!
Somethings gone awry”

All BS.

You can get free advice off YouTube or find a community/mentor within your field.

I went to the webinar advertised - she even declared in the webinar that it wasn't a sales pitch. She went on and on without actually giving any concrete, applicable advice on how to grow sales, instead, pointed out what many sellers feel despondent about and telling us she would teach us to do differently.

Also reading out fake comments as though it was a live webinar when it was clearly recorded. Very cringey. At the 45 minute mark, no wiser to grow my sales, she starts selling her course.

What a waste of time.

Very expensive for what you get, I paid 160€/ month for 6 months. I regret spending almost 1.000€. Here's my experience:

First of all, by the time you discover, it's truly not amazing, it's too late. Their T&C doesn't allow you to cancel and you find yourself forced to spend a lot of money. When a company doesn't let you cancel, freely, think twice. There are some extenuating circumstances, but, what the hell, emails back and forth to finally hear NO. And after that, complete silence. Did they ever reach out to ask how I was doing? If I had found my way around? Nothing. I would personally call my student or my customer, and more if they were to pay 1K if I hear they're not happy.

I have now signed up with a great company, with very good content for 39€ PER MONTH. Yes, 75% CHEAPER. And yes 1000% better. And guess what, you can cancel anytime, freely, without questions. And even more, you can choose the content you want to go through because not everyone has the same knowledge about Etsy, marketing, e-commerce, etc. With HMbosses you have to go through hours of basic content.

About the course itself, it goes deep on how to understand your target market, that's true, the rest it's quite basic or they talk about it superficially (by basic I mean the content you can find for free on Youtube. For example how to use Canva, or the importance of having good pictures, well ok...It might help you a bit if you have never managed pretty much anything nowadays, or even worked)

I had to study for more than 5 weeks to first hear about "Erank". I found out when signing up for my other course, that Erank is a must for Etsy shop owners and a super rich source for example to choose your Etsy keywords strategy. Quite important. HMBosses course speaks a bit about it, many lessons after teaching how to Etsy keyword...

My recommendation: do a proper online research before choosing Handmade Bosses. Don't ever sign up with an online course and put your credit card in if you don't clearly see CANCEL FREELY ANYTIME.
