The apartment I purchased was in a very rentable location and was designed and furnished with young professional renters in mind. Even the exchange passed without any bumps from either solicitor.

This is our first Buy to Let investment and they made it painless. They explained everything and answered every question fully, always ensuring that we understood the answer before moving on. There was no selling, we just invested once everything seemed right to us.

We mostly dealt with Chris but had some dealings with other team members if he was unavailable. Every member of the Hartford team that we dealt with was friendly, keen to help and ensured that our questions were answered. We employed their recommended solicitors who did a great job and get the exchange done.

Excellent guidance, service, and support. Liam made everything very clear for us and took away all our concerns and fears. Things were much less complicated than we expected and we are now looking forward to building on this first step.

In the last email I received from Chris, he stated:
“As part of the security of the investment that was discussed before investing, the security trustee will step in to ensure protection for loan note holders. Naturally, this takes some time, and they are now preparing to step in—demanding repayment and interest payments to all clients. It’s vital you work with us—as I said, we are all in the same boat.”

It has now been over a year since I have received any communication from Hartford Capital (now rebranded as HCG) providing updates on what actions are being taken to recover my life savings. To date, I have received nothing.

In light of this, the statement that “we are all in the same boat” appears to be yet another misleading claim.

I have just invested in an off plan apartment through them. My property consultant Ryan has kept me fully informed and answered all my questions throughout the process. I am pleased to recommend this company.

I note they’ve changed their name to try to distance themselves from previous fraudulent conduct. Uploading my review that they tried to remove, truth shall prevail.

Beware of Christopher Way, who was formerly doing business through Solomon Investment Partners and is now part of Hartford Capital. I am one of around 800 investors who fell prey to an elaborate property fraud scheme, where properties were grossly misrepresented in value and potential returns. They used fraudulent valuation reports and false claims to lure unsuspecting investors.

Chris Way is still in the business of inflicting financial harm & deceiving his clients through Hartford Capital - see the most recent review of 14 Jul. It's so unfortunate that Paul has experienced this.

From this ordeal, I’ve learned that many 'property investment' firms in the UK are essentially phoenix companies, often set up by directors with a history of egregious conduct. The UK property market is not properly regulated, and I strongly advise extreme caution. Do not engage with any property investment firm until you have verified their track record with at least five or six trusted references who can confirm successful, completed transactions.

Protect yourself from significant financial loss and devastation by being extremely cautious. Do not believe any of these positive reviews: I've learnt that many of these "property investment companies" incentivise reviews & also get TrustPilot to take down honest reviews. Instead speak to 6 or 7 clients who have gone through the entire cycle, have a completed property transaction & have the projected revenue. It is all fun & games until the developer goes bankrupt or you learn that the property investment firm has told countless lies about the property for their own financial gain.

This is our first buy to let property investment. We have been dealing with Daryl and he has helped us a lot to understand how this all works. The exchange went without any issues and all our questions are answered promptly.

We're satisfied and impressed with the service and advice that we have received. Nothing was too much trouble for Jonathan and he was exceptionally professional in dealing with the solicitors and developer. We thank him for all his patience and willingness.
