Poor Customer Service

This company can improve, for starters, by hiring individuals who have the right character for CUSTOMER SERVICE, including the woman who answers the phones at Head Office -- multiple justified complaints about her. She was defensive, impatient ... bordering on rude.

As a Sr. Comms Consultant for the Govt of ON, I found both to be unprofessional and, frankly, a turnoff in dealing with this company.

Is this in regard to the NOW Magnesium Flakes? My apologies for this, if so.

It would certainly help us a lot if you could email our support email (support@healthyplanetcanada.com) with a photo of what you ended up receiving instead.

I know sometimes, manufacturers like NOW will update/"rebrand" the packaging of products without informing us, in which case there's a little bit of a delay in this photo on our website being updated until we start receiving the new product in our warehouse, or a customer such as yourself reaches out.

I do just want to ensure, though, that it is 100% the same product you received, just with the new packaging -- so certainly don't hesitate to email us for any issues like this, so we can look into them for you!

read the small print

read the small print. It's not free shipping if you don't live in a major city. And the shipping isn't cheap.

Low prices on products aren't as good a value when you have to pay shipping fees because you don't live in a major city.

Inconsistent pricing

I find it inconsistent when online promotional pricing is not available in stores and that should not be the case. I was told by the store staff that I have buy online to get the lower price if the items are being promoted online even when they are available at the store!

Hi Samuel,

I hear you on this! We have voiced this feedback to management, provided by many of our customers, such as yourself.

Unfortunately, as it stands, because the stores and the "online" ordering do operate separately -- and these online orders ship separately out of a warehouse, the pricing is not uniform across all platforms.

You'll even notice how we don't carry a lot of the fresh grocery items, produce, dairy, refrigerated items, etc., online, while most of the stores don't have the same wide selection of supplement brands, cosmetics, etc. that we do online. So even in that regard, there is a difference, since the focus with the stores tends to be more on organic grocery and online, the focus is more on supplements/personal care.

Because of that (and because we ship all over the world and order these products in a much higher volume from the manufacturers/distributors), online, we are often able to offer bigger discounts or more frequent sales on these brands versus in-store. Even if the item is available in the store, they might not have gotten the same sort of pricing on it, since they purchase independently for that specific store location.

At the same time, occasionally, the stores will run promotions and deals that are exclusive and not available online.

We are working on trying to make everything more unified across the board -- so long-term, that is the plan.

Very happy long-time customer!

I've been ordering from Healthy Planet for several years now and appreciate their quick, reliable service and that their customer service is always readily available should I have any questions or concerns. They have a wide selection of items to choose from including everything I regularly want to buy, and they have good sales too. And I appreciate earning points with each order as a credit for future purchases.

Great Canadian Company!

I started shopping with Healthy Planet because I don’t have a lot of money and some of the supplements I take that help keep the cancer I had from recurring are expensive so their sale prices help make them affordable.
I like that they are a Canadian company and carry many Canadian made products. They use Canada Post and ship products very quickly.
