Communication = Zero
Unfortunately my experience with this solicitors has not been particularly positive. The conveyancer I dealt with directly was polite and helpful when I had contact. However the issue came from the complete lack of contact. At one point I hadn’t heard anything for 5 weeks and I spent all my time chasing them for answers about what was happening with my home.
My sale was a no chain sale and still took almost 7 months to complete. I was told we were at completion after Christmas and yet we only completed last week. I sent back every document as soon as I received it and if I emailed on a Monday I knew I wouldn’t hear anything until at least Friday. It shouldn’t have been such a long difficult process.

We are very sorry to hear that you did not have a positive experience with the sale of your property.
Following review of the file, we can see that enquiries were received early in November, and all replies were reported to the buyer’s solicitors by us by the end of November and requested them to confirm that enquiries were satisfied.
It was only in mid-December that the other side reverted back requesting an indemnity policy which was provided immediately.
On the 12th December, we received confirmation that enquiries were satisfied, however the buyer’s mortgage offer was still awaited.
This is unfortunately out of our control and despite numerous chasers, the other side only confirmed on the 7th February that the mortgage offer was obtained and that they were ready to discuss completion dates, to which they only suggested two options: completion on the 24th February or 3rd March. We agreed the earliest option available.
According to the above, we were ready to exchange and complete prior to Christmas from our end. The delays were created by the other side since the mortgage offer was awaited.
Although we appreciate that this transaction could have completed earlier if the buyer had obtained a mortgage offer earlier in the process, you were continuously informed throughout the process of the position and of the reasons for the delays caused by the other side.
We hope that this reply further confirms that the delay was not caused by us. I can also see that you did have several updates, even when the position of the buyer had not changed.
That being said, we are really sorry the read your review but wish you all the best in the future.

What an amazing service!
How should I begin this review? Maybe by mentioning the great service... Or maybe the excellent communication I had with my Solicitor Emma Selfridge.
Choosing Emma from Hek Jones was one of the best decisions I made when purchasing my first home! I am grateful for the weekly updates I received explaining where I was in the process with a swift email or phone call, which helped calm the first-time buying nerves. Emma ensured that the process was easily understood and seeing the progress moving along smoothly was reassuring.
Just 2 days before Christmas, I received a call from Emma that her team had completed the purchase of the property and that I could collect the keys by the end of the day. I have now gone into the New Year a property owner and look forward to this new start. Thank you, Emma & Hek Jones, you will be the first I think of when recommending to others. Happy New Year!

Michael Thompson very rude to family…
Michael Thompson very rude to family members, i called Mike, he wanted to meet everyone face to face for documents. Times have changed and should be using an online platform iE Credas, i explained this to Mike and he said it would be am additional charge, they experienced problems with the app as Mike had sent 3 cases in one persons name and said he didn’t know how to use it. Very unprofessional. Would never recommend or use

Friend of Ted (we note you have note used your real name),
If I am dealing with the correct person (and if I am, I note you are not the actual client in this matter but rather 3 of your relatives are the clients), I can see that Michael Thompson sent the instruction papers to your 3 relatives via e mail as requested. As part of the process, we need suitable photographic ID to be provided for all of our clients. Mr Thompson suggested this ID could either be provided in person or via an online app whereby an ID Check is carried out using an individual client’s photographic ID. When Mr Thompson provided these options, he was told the app was the best way to deal with this element and an instruction e mail on how to use the app was sent to your 3 relatives. One of your relatives completed the ID check online easily via the app. The other 2 relatives (despite Mr Thompson speaking several times on the phone and even answering text messages on a Sunday in a sincere effort to assist and move the matter forward) was told the 2 relatives were unable to use the app. Mr Thompson therefore made an appointment to see the 2 relatives in our office today. However, one of the relatives said he did not actually have his original Driving Licence as it had been lost and no Passport was held by the relative. In light of this, Mr Thompson suggested any meeting was delayed until the relative was in receipt of their new Driving Licence as the relative mentioned to Mr Thompson he had ordered a new Driving Licence. Once Mr Thompson mentioned this, the 2 relatives said they would use another firm of solicitors.
In light of the above and the fact that Mr Thompson was only asking for ID which is a legal requirement that ID is provided by all clients during any conveyancing transaction, your complaint seems very unjust. Indeed, speaking to Mr Thompson he assures me he was never rude and was just following policies and procedures put in place by Hek Jones Solicitors and strict legislative requirements. I note your relatives have asked for the file to be closed which Mr Thompson has done today.

Start to finish they were utterly amazing, they took care of everything from start to finish and they could do enough for me, we had some issues with the sale but they took care of it and communication was second to non.
Alex and Chole took care of my purchase and boy didn’t they work hard due to the nature of my purchase, I cannot thank them enough dealing with all the queries and pushing for answers from the housing association, they well and truly worked hard and the communication was brilliant, they really did take care of me on a personal level.

Hek Jones assisted me with the purchase of my house. As a first-time home buyer, I was a little anxious and worried about the delay due to the chain as my mortgage offer was about to expire. Helene Reiminger was excellent throughout; she took her time to guide me through the process, she was clear with the instructions and took her time to explain when further clarity was required.
The amazing thing about the HEK Jones team for me was when Helene was on annual leave, the vendor decided to do an early exchange, Lucy and Alexandra were there to help immediately.
If you are looking for a reliable team, I would recommend them without hesitation.
