HICL Builders did an amazing job on our extension and renovation in Surbiton. Finished in just 8 weeks, on time and to a fantastic standard. The team were professional, friendly, and kept us updated throughout. Our home looks incredible now. I couldn’t recommend them enough!

In 2016 Andi and team did work on our loft to remove a partition wall and at the same time we asked them to remove built in cupboards from the room below. Andi offered instead to remove the chimney breast that the cupboards were built around, as well as the built in cupboards. Unknown to us at the time, when removing the chimney breast, the remaining chimney stack was left supported two pieces of steel and a piece of fibreboard. Using fibreboard to support the chimney stack did not meet build regulations.

When we came to sell our house we had to get Andi back to replace the support with the correct materials in order to get building regulations sign off. HICL insisted they were not at fault even though the original work did not meet building regulations. This resulted in us having to pay another £700 to put the work right in 2022.

The work done by HICL may look good on the surface but do not rely on them to know whether work done requires sign off for building regulations and ensure they don't close up any works before you have it fully inspected and signed off.

I 100 % recommend Hicl, I was extremely pleased with the work Andi and his team did when fitting my new bathroom. They were very professional, helpful and prompt with their work. I would definitely use them again.
