HMD Legal's online platform made tracking the progress of my sale so clear and easy to follow, and also allowing simple document uploads and downloads, even sending small notes/comments to the legal team instead of sending emails.
Updated with important information regularly and everything was handled smoothly and professionally. I can't recommend enough- thank you so much Hannah and the rest of the team!

HMD Legal have a professional online system where it is easy to review your case and the next steps required. Communication is good with a dedicated team dealing with each case. I found the whole process easy and without issue.

Our home purchase was not run of the mill and HMD handled it well. They were quick to respond to emails and provide support throughout the process. They had a "can do" approach so absent in others we have experienced. We wanted to exchange and complete on the same day and they did this for us without any fuss. They are the only solicitor we have ever used that we would use again.

Five star service received by Hannah! My file was handled to a high standard and I was kept in the loop right through to the end, we completed within the time scale, very pleased, highly recommended ! Thanks again!

I was allocated HMD Legal for the purchase of a property and dealt with Grace Braim and Caroline Renton (and a few others). I have been seriously impressed with the service received. Emails have been responded to usually within the hour of being sent. The advice has been excellent, and I really felt that I had someone in my corner protecting my interests. I am super impressed which for me is a rarity. I have already recommended them to others and would not hesitate to use them again. Well done to Grace and all of the team at HMD Legal.

Although initially we felt we weren't kept fully informed after appointing HMD, this changed totally once exchange of contracts got nearer. We were then updated promptly every step of the way, all the way to completion. All staff are professional, helpful and friendly.

Hannah and the team were quick and responsive on my house sale and we managed to get into a position to exchange the sale of my house very swiftly.

It’s been nearly 30 years since we bought a property and we felt very nervous at the computer skills we would need. HMD were very easy to communicate with not only by email but phone. They were brilliant. We would highly recommend them.

Communication from HMD is dreadful. They don't reply promptly to emails and are unreachable by phone. You cant even leave a voicemail as their 'mailbox is full'. I would avoid. Very, very frustrating.

You are acting for my sister-in-law in the purchase of a flat in York (I am a authorised contact.) We have a paralegal as the primary contact called.S***y. I have tried multiple times to speak to her/him but to no avail . The Estate Agent has had the same issues. I note you reply quickly on Trustpilot. A shame you don't do the same for your customers

The house sale was concluded successfully with only a minor delay - which may have been due more to the purchaser's solicitor than HMD. All aspects of the completion, including money transfers, were conducted swiftly and efficiently.

The owner of HMD Legal is doing all they can to get this review removed. I’m happy for them to call me and discuss, but they will continue to claim online that they were not part of this issue…

Our experience with HMD Legal comes from when our purchase and sale were apparently being handled by WYM Legal who have since been closed by the Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) in order to protect the rights of consumers.

During our engagement with two members off staff apparently working for WYM Legal, they used signatures in their emails and their return documents which appeared to show HMD Legal as the legal entity handling our case.

One individual who is a solicitor and managing director of HMD Legal was also listed as a Director on WYM Legal on companies house until 8th May 2025 and we received notice of transfer of file to HMD Legal 12 days later. This comes around the same time we had submitted an official complaint to WYM Legal regarding this director and another member of staff also working for HMD Legal and I had requested they take no further action on our file until our complaint was resolved. We never received any response to our complaint from HMD Legal or WYM Legal.

When we received notification of our case transferring officially to HMD Legal due to the CLC closure, we rejected the transfer and moved firms altogether, as the poor advice and guidance we received through HMD Legal left us out of pocket and set our sale back significantly. When informed of our decision to move firms, the managing director couldn't have closed our online account any quicker.

Our experience with both members of staff, were extremely disappointing. Communication was inconsistent, key information was ignored, and we were repeatedly given conflicting advice during a complex covenant issue that should have been handled with far greater care.

We lodged a formal complaint with the Legal Ombudsman, naming WYM Legal and HMD Legal. The Ombudsman have since confirmed our complaint had merit, however as WYM Legal had shut down, they could not take our claim further unless our losses exceeded £10,000. We later learned from the Ombudsman that HMD Legal had described themselves as a “consultancy firm” for WYM Legal rather than trading under their own name, meaning they avoided accountability despite being directly involved.

After months of stress, poor communication, and a lack of professional oversight, we feel it’s important to warn others about our experience. I would strongly recommend anyone considering using anyone connected to HMD Legal do thorough research beforehand.

They will claim the obudsman complaint is fabrication to prevent poor reflection on them.

Hmd Legal are top professional with their work. From start to finish, they dealt with all my property conveyancing smoothly. Tia kept me updated and responded to emails promptly. It was a pleasure working with them. More than a 5star.

Please could you share feedback to Home Legal Direct, who referred me to you. They initially advised that the property search costs would be £300 when actually they turned out to be £400 which was unexpected.

I used Hmd legal for the first time purchasing my property and they was spot on. Grace was amazing going above and beyond to help me through the process and her responses where second to none I couldn't have asked for more.

Although I was a little apprehensive as the entire journey is using an online portal, this was actually an excellent experience!
We were able to see where we were in the process at all times and if I did need to raise an urgent enquiry. Tia was super quick to respond.
I am moving out of my primary residence in the next few months and will definitely use HMD legal for this house sale and my onward purchase.
