Working with Holiday Inn is very frustrating!
Working with Holiday Inn has presented challenges. Their contracts feel quite restrictive, which can make it difficult to move forward when thatâs your goal. Booking is impossible and it is hard to find reservations. Always many extra costs. Time and money are valuable and should be spent with companies that prioritize their customers' needs. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to explore alternative options.
I really regret investing in theâŠ
I really regret investing in the Holiday Inn Club Vacation Timeshare. I have regret investing in the Holiday Inn timeshare program. From the start, itâs been nothing but frustration. First off, making a reservation was an absolute nightmare and seeing the renters enjoy to best rooms. Even trying to book a year in advance for April 2023, nothing was availableâno locations, no room types we wanted. We were hoping for 2- or 3-bedroom units, but apparently, thatâs impossible unless you know someone in Corp or buy more points. We just booked a beach destination and the only thing we was able to see was the pool. It wasnât anything like what we were promised. I originally bought this thinking it would make retirement trips easy and enjoyable. Instead, itâs clear itâs just going to be a financial headache. Not exactly what I had in mind for my retirement.
Within the first month of owning this timeshare, I completely lost interest. Nothing was available, no matter how far in advance I tried. Honestly, I wish I could go back and never sign up for this. Save yourself the stress and avoid this trap.
Holiday Inn Club Vacations.
I am writing to formally express my dissatisfaction with my experience as a contract holder with Holiday Inn Club Vacations. The services provided do not align with what was promised during the sales presentation, which I found to be misleading. Additionally, the value of the offerings does not justify the costs, especially with the recurring fee increases. Despite my attempts to address these concerns and seek a resolution, I have encountered resistance and a lack of cooperation in exiting the contract.
I really regret investing in the Holiday Inn Club Vacation TimeshareâŠ
I really regret investing in the Holiday Inn timeshare program. From the start, itâs been nothing but frustration. Let me explain why:
First off, making a reservation was an absolute nightmare. Even trying to book a year in advance for April 2023, nothing was availableâno locations, no room types we wanted. We were hoping for 2- or 3-bedroom units in Florida, but apparently, thatâs impossible unless you buy more points.
Speaking of that, the locations were super limited. We were looking for beach destinations, but the options felt so restricted. It wasnât anything like what we were promised.
And donât even get me started on the hidden costs and upselling. I was told that to get larger units or access other hotels, Iâd need to buy extra points. Itâs like a never-ending money pit. The whole thing feels way too expensive to maintain, especially with all the extra costs.
I originally bought this thinking it would make retirement trips easy and enjoyable. Instead, itâs clear itâs just going to be a financial headache. Not exactly what I had in mind for my retirement.
Even the experience itself was a mess. The meeting to review the timeshare wasnât even at the hotel I was staying atâthey sent me to another resort entirely. The whole thing just felt disorganized and poorly managed.
Within the first month of owning this timeshare, I completely lost interest. Nothing was available, no matter how far in advance I tried. Honestly, I wish I could go back and never sign up for this. Save yourself the stress and avoid this trap.
Extremely disappointed with ourplanâŠ
Extremely disappointed with our experience with Holiday Inn Vacation Club. We signed up for the timeshare but haven't had a chance to use it. The were destinations we were interested in were always booked. To make matters worse, we had to take time out of our schedule to return to Myrtle Beach for a reassurance meeting, only to be pressured into upgrading our points. It feels like a waste of money every month.
We're retired and working part-time to supplement our income. This adds even more financial stress. With my husband recovering from back surgery and unable to work for several months, we have realized we could plan vacations with more flexibilty and less expense than what you provide. It feels like we were sold something that doesn't live up to the promises made. We would never recommend this to anyone.
I truly regret ever purchasing aâŠ
I truly regret ever purchasing a Holiday Inn Vacation Club timeshare. What was supposed to be an informative session turned into a high-pressure sales pitch that left me feeling stressed and cornered. Since buying it, the timeshare has been more of a financial and emotional hassle than anything helpful.
As someone with mobility issues, Iâve been especially frustrated to find that many of the resorts and facilities lack proper accessibilityâthings like ramps, elevators, or accommodations for physical disabilities. Itâs made it really hard, sometimes impossible, to enjoy my stays.
It has become nothing but an inescapable and unusable financial burden.
Iâm now working on getting this resolved and feel itâs time to end my timeshare agreement altogether.
If youâre thinking about getting one, Iâd strongly recommend avoiding it. Save yourself the stress, frustration, and financial headache. There are so many other vacation options out there without all these issues!
A Holiday Inn Disappointment
Weâve had a really disappointing experience with the Holiday Inn timeshare program. After buying in, we quickly realized the financial commitment was way more than we could handle. The monthly loan payments, which stretch well into our retirement years, have become a huge burden. On top of that, the annual maintenance fees are an ongoing cost we just canât keep up with.
Whatâs worse is the impact this could have on our family. If our kids inherit this timeshare, they wouldnât be able to afford the maintenance fees, which leaves us feeling really guilty.
Plus, our priorities have changed. Our kids are now married with families of their own, and we honestly get more joy out of visiting them than going on timeshare vacations. What we thought would be a good fit for us just hasnât matched our reality, and now we feel stuck in a commitment we donât benefit from anymore.
If youâre thinking about signing up for this program, weâd urge you to really think about the long-term costsâfinancially, logistically, and emotionally. For us, itâs been a stressful and disappointing experience.
We feel itâs necessary to share ourâŠ
We feel itâs necessary to share our story, hoping that others won't have to endure the same issues we've faced. When we first purchased the timeshare, the sales representatives assured us that we would gain access to luxurious vacations at discounted rates. They made it sound like this was going to be a dream investment for our family, allowing us to travel in style without draining our savings. However, none of these promises have been fulfilled. To make matters worse, the 2-bedroom unit that was guaranteed to us from the outset has never been available for us to use. Itâs incredibly disheartening to realize that what we were sold has not reflected our actual experience.
Weâve been struggling with this purchase for quite some time, and the financial strain of continuing to pay for something that doesnât deliver its promised value has been overwhelming. Itâs impossible for us to justify pouring more money into a timeshare we simply cannot use. This situation seems to have no way out.
Whatâs even more disappointing is the lack of assistance weâve received in trying to resolve these concerns. Weâve made multiple attempts to contact the resort directly to address the situation, but weâve received little to no help. It feels like once the sale was finalized, all responsibility and accountability on their part disappeared. This lack of support and disregard for our concerns only adds to the frustration and disappointment weâve experienced.
We trusted the sales representatives, believing their assurances that this timeshare would be a valuable addition to our familyâs life. Instead, it has brought us nothing but stress, financial strain, and unmet expectations. We are hoping to resolve this issue by canceling the contract as soon as possible, but so far, no one has stepped up to help rectify the situation. Anyone considering a timeshare with Holiday Inn, think twice and proceed with caution.
Holiday Inn time share I regret for many reasons.
I regret my decision to invest in a Holiday Inn timeshare, as it has brought overwhelming financial and emotional hardship into my life. As a retired teacher living paycheck to paycheck, the timeshare has become an unbearable expense that I simply cannot afford, leaving me financially strained with little to no savings.
Every month, I struggle to meet my basic needs, including food, gas, and critical medical expenses. My health conditions, like diabetes, require ongoing treatment from specialists such as an endocrinologist, retina specialists for monthly eye injections, and a dietician, all of which are costly but essential. On top of that, my family obligations in Thailand, including travel expenses to support my wife's aging parents, add further pressure to an already challenging financial situation.
The burden of this timeshare has only added stress to my life, making it harder to focus on both my health and my familyâs needs. I canât even use the timeshare, as my circumstances donât allow for travel, making it feel like a complete waste of money on something I can't benefit from.
This timeshare has created more harm than good, and I desperately hope to find a way out of this financial and emotional nightmare. For anyone considering a Holiday Inn timeshare, I urge you to think twice and fully assess whether this will truly suit your lifestyle and ability to manage such an expensive long-term commitment. For me, it has been nothing but a costly mistake.

We regret purchasing a Holiday InnâŠ
We regret purchasing a Holiday Inn timeshare, and unfortunately, our experience has been far from positive. We made this investment right before COVID, excited about the prospect of traveling more. However, life took a different turn with unexpected health issues, mounting medical bills, and financial hardships that made it impossible for us to use the timeshare as planned.
Now, with plans to relocate due to my husbandâs job, we need to make critical financial changes, and the timeshare just doesnât fit into our plans anymore. Despite contacting Holiday Inn to explain our circumstances, we havenât been met with much understanding or flexibility in trying to amicably resolve this situation.
The inability to make adjustments for unforeseen life challenges has left us feeling trapped and disappointed. Weâre sharing this review in hopes that others carefully consider the long-term financial commitment and lack of flexibility when deciding on a timeshare with Holiday Inn. If your circumstances change, you might find yourself in a frustrating and stressful position.
Owning this timeshare has been one ofâŠ
Owning this timeshare has been one of the biggest regrets of our lives. We were made to believe this was a smart investment for our family, but in reality, itâs turned out to be nothing more than a costly and frustrating distraction. The sales team painted a picture-perfect scenario, promising that we could sell it back if we no longer wanted it. What they didnât mention were all the restrictions, hidden clauses, and outright impossibilities that make getting out of this contract feel like an uphill battle.
We also never got what we thought we were paying for. None of the benefits or experiences that were promised during the sales pitch have come to fruition. Itâs beyond frustrating to realize that the entire setup seems designed to drain as much money as possible from owners while delivering little to no actual value.
This companyâs business practices feel unethical and unfair. They pull people in with misleading promises and then conveniently omit critical details until itâs too late. Sadly, we fell for it, and what we thought was going to create unforgettable memories for our family has turned into a financial nightmare instead.
If youâre considering purchasing a timeshare here, please think twice. Do your research and read reviews like this one. Donât fall into the same trap we did! I would not wish this experience on anyone. Be cautious and protect yourself from making the same mistake.
Iâve had a really disappointingâŠ
Iâve had a really disappointing experience with Holiday Innâs timeshare service. Due to serious medical issues, my doctor has advised me not to travel and to stay close to medical care. Iâve been wearing a medical alert bracelet for months and, because my health is unpredictable, traveling just isnât an option right now.
Even after explaining my situation and providing the necessary documentation, Holiday Inn has shown no empathy or understanding. I reached out hoping for some flexibility or support, but instead, their response has only added more stress during a really tough time.
I expected better from a company of their size and reputation. A little compassion and understanding can make a big difference, but that just wasnât the case here. I really hope Holiday Inn rethinks how they handle situations involving customers who are dealing with health challenges.
Don't fall for this scam
I purchase what is suppose to be a package for 4 days 3 nights. I called to cancel indicating I would not be able to travel and they refused to reimburse the payment. Claiming it's said the package, that it's non refundable or transferable.
I never received a package, just a receipt. Was told it was good for a year.
I am canceling before it even expires in 2025, and getting this excuse.
There is a big sales push for the person to buy, but they are fine prints that are not disclose and should be in written.
Imposible to book a trip.
I have been an owner wit Royal Resorts in Cancun, never had any issues booking a trip.
Once I became a platinum member of HIVC, I can book up to 13 months in advance. I called and checked online for any availability at all the Resorts in the Yucatan. There is nothing available between now and 13 months from now. I checked with Expedia and they have availability at all the Resorts in the Yucatan anytime I want.
I sent emails and no response.
I am a very unhappy member.
The experience with this timeshare hasâŠ
The experience with this timeshare has been incredibly frustrating and disappointing. The costs associated with maintaining ownership are excessive, and despite my attempts to end the agreement, the company has been unhelpful. Serious personal challenges have prevented me from using the timeshare, but the company shows no care or consideration for these circumstances. On top of this, availability is almost non-existent, and the representatives offer no meaningful assistance. I strongly advise against getting involved with this company unless youâre prepared to waste money and face a lack of support when issues arise
Our experience with Holiday Inn
Our experience with Holiday Inn, Orange Lake has been extremely disappointing. We were initially told we were purchasing a vacation package, not a timeshare, but it has become clear that we were not told the truth. We received conflicting information about the programâs benefits and were promised it would be a valuable investment. However, the reality has been quite the opposite.
Instead of making a profit or being able to sell it as promised, the timeshare has become a financial burden. It has not increased in value, and we cannot even give it away. Attempts to return the timeshare have been unsuccessful, leaving us feeling discouraged about the entire arrangement.
As retirees on a fixed income, we are experiencing considerable stress, and the company has shown little concern for its members. If you are considering doing business with them, be cautious. Based on our experience, this company has not delivered on its promises and has left us with deep regret. We would like to be free from this timeshare nightmare.
The shortcomings of this timeshare haveâŠ
The shortcomings of this timeshare have been overwhelmingly frustrating. The financial obligations, including maintenance fees, property taxes, and special assessments, have grown to be excessive and unsustainable. These recurring charges far exceed what was initially expected, creating significant financial strain.
Additionally, utilizing the timeshare has proven to be an ongoing challenge. Securing reservations is extremely difficult, and the process lacks the flexibility needed to accommodate various schedules. The limited availability and complicated booking requirements make it nearly impossible to benefit from the promised vacation opportunities. Instead of providing value, the timeshare has become an impractical and expensive commitment.
Overall, the lack of transparency regarding costs and the inflexible usage policies make this timeshare a regrettable investment. It seems tailored more to benefit the company than to provide meaningful value to its members. I would strongly caution others against entering into this type of agreement without fully understanding the long-term financial and practical implications.
zero stars
I wish I could give this experience zero stars. Our timeshare with Holiday Inn Vacation Club has been a nightmare. Hereâs what happened:
It began with a stay at the Even Hotel, an IHG resort in NYC in December 2018. By 2019, IHG offered us a promo getaway at Orange Lake Resort near Disney in Orlando, FL: 3 nights, $200, and a meal during the "tour." When we arrived, starving after skipping breakfast, we were told thereâd be no mealâjust chips and soda.
The "tour" started with luxury villas and ended with hours of relentless sales pitches. Despite a firm "weâre not buying anything," we caved after three rounds of aggressive persuasion. They used high-pressure tactics, slashed prices to create FOMO, and even said things like, âDonât you want to save money and pass this on to your kids?â Exhausted and hungry, we bought 30k points, sold as a flexible system for luxury vacations, roll-over points, and global resorts. None of it was true. A yearâs worth of points barely paid for one hotel night.
Fast forward three years. We could hardly use our points, but during an "owners orientation" in New Orleans, the nightmare repeated. Sick and masked, we were pressured again into another contract with promises of three free nights and $400. They convinced us to upgrade to VIP status and add 40k points at the Ridge Resort in Lake Tahoe, promising "premier access" and new benefits. None of it was real. The âpremier accessâ expired before we could use it, and the bonus points disappeared.
When we finally took a vacation, we got stuck in a subpar suite, far from what they lured us in with. They included âIntervalâ for exchanges, but finding availability was nearly impossible, especially in our region. Yet again, the promises felt meaningless.
Our experience with Holiday Inn Vacation Club has been full of broken promises, high-pressure sales tactics, and no care for customers. We feel deceived, financially drained, and stuck in a system with no real value. I wouldnât recommend this timeshare to anyone. Stay far away.
I regret purchasing the Holiday Inn Club VacationsâŠ
I regret purchasing the Holiday Inn Club Vacation package. I initially bought it before COVID, but whenever I attempted to use it, the locations I wanted were fully booked. My purchase ended up expiring unusedâa complete waste. Despite this frustrating experience, they called me again and convinced me to give it another try, promising a better experience. However, the same problem persists. Now, as the expiration date looms (July 8, 2025), I find myself unable to book any desired dates or locations, as they are all fully booked yet again.
This has left me feeling that the entire scheme is a scam. IHG, a brand I have long associated with excellent customer service, should not affiliate with such an operation. This experience falls far below the high standards IHG is known for, and it has been nothing but disappointing.
Disappointed
I wish I could say our experience with Holiday Inn Timeshare was positive, but unfortunately, it has been a major disappointment. We initially purchased the timeshare with the hope of creating more family memories, especially as we planned for retirement from the Army. However, it's turned into a huge financial burden.
The rising costs and maintenance fees, which are inconveniently due right after the holidays, have made it difficult for us to provide for our kids during Christmas. On top of that, we rarely even get to use the timeshare. For the amount we've been paying, we could have saved for actual family vacations that would have been much more worthwhile.
This has been nothing close to what we were promised, and we deeply regret signing up. If you're considering a timeshare, I highly recommend evaluating other options or avoiding the stress altogether.
