Complete scam- just a bunch of salesmen who lie
Whatever you do, donât sign! First, they start off by telling you itâll be 17,000+. After their PowerPoint (when they says itâs NOT a timeshare), they then bring you to tables. âBecause they like youâ, they want to make the deal happen, so theyâll immediately drop the price to $8,900- for the next 45 years! They tell you it will be $900 in year fees, but at the table, theyâll drop it to $675, âbecause they like youâ. During the presentation, theyâll tell you the first person to sign, gets a âfreeâ trip to Hawaii. Itâs not free. You have to leave from the west coast, and you need to pay taxes and fees on the flight and hotel stay. âHurry, they signed, I want you to get the free tripâ. During the presentation, theyâll tell you that if you want, you can pass it on to your kids. You donât pass anything. You have to pay $499 to change owners of the TIMESHARE (remember they started by saying it wasnât a timeshare). Your children will then have to pay $675 a year because itâs a contract. The year feels will come out to over $30,000. Your âfree staysâ certainly arenât free when you have to pay all of the fees. All they want you to do is sign quickly. They tell you to put away your phones. Itâs so you canât look at the reviews yourself. Whatever show you want to see, itâs not worth your time being suckered in to the Jockey Club for the presentation. Save yourself the aggravation and time. Let them fast talk someone else.
The value simply isnât there
The value simply isnât there. We can independently book far superior vacations with better amenities for much less money. It is frustrating to realize we have paid thousands upon thousands of dollars for the mere opportunity to book a vacation that doesn't even reach half the quality of what we could find ourselves.
Scammers
Scammers. financial black hole.
Iâve been trying to get out of this contract for a while now, and the experience has been a nightmare. Dealing with this company is like shouting into a void; they constantly tell me there is "nothing they can do" and that I am essentially stuck. It is completely unacceptable. The product doesnât even deliver on what was promised, but we are still expected to keep our end of the bargain and continue paying. It is nonsense to demand payment when the service itself is a failure. Their only "solution" was for us to sell it to someone else. They show zero accountability, and the staff is incredibly dismissive, treating customers like a nuisance once the papers are signed.
Iâve seen other terrible reviews recently, and I deeply wish I had seen them before we bought into this. Do not believe a word they say. This company is nothing but a predatory black hole for your finances, run by unhelpful people. Stay far, far away from them
PREDATORY TIMESHARE SCAM
PREDATORY TIMESHARE SCAM. Starpoint Resort Group / Sapphire Resorts lured us into a high-pressure presentation in Las Vegas where licensed sales agent Lauren Johnson (License TSA 9554) made multiple false verbal promises including guaranteed resort access, resale value, and rental income from points. Every single promise was a lie and contradicted by their own contract. They rushed us into signing a $9,990 triennial membership â meaning we only get access every 3 years â something never disclosed during the presentation. They took our down payment and when we couldnât continue paying for something we were deceived into buying, they sent the account to Monterey Financial Services who is now destroying our credit trying to collect over $10,000. I have filed complaints with the CFPB, FTC, Nevada Attorney General, and BBB. This company is a predatory scheme that targets consumers with false promises and high pressure tactics. DO NOT attend their presentations regardless of what free gift they offer. You will regret it.
I strongly recommend avoiding SapphireâŠ
I strongly recommend avoiding Sapphire Resorts if youâre considering a timeshare. My experience has been incredibly frustratingâfrom poor communication to ongoing billing issues with no clear resolution. Trying to get answers or make changes to the account has been nearly impossible, and it feels like once youâre in, youâre stuck dealing with constant runaround.
If youâre thinking about investing in a timeshare, do your research and think twice before committing here. There are far better options out there that actually value their customers and provide transparency. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
So we finally got a chance to talk toâŠ
So we finally got a chance to talk to the best of the best, Mr Sonny. He set us up and showed us how to use our timeshare and we are ready to go. We were about to give up and say this is not worth the money. So now its time to play!! Thanks Mr. Sonny.
Sapphire Is A Total Scam!
We went to one of Sapphire's "presentations" and had no intension of buying anything. We only went for the discounted offers they had when we were visiting Sedona, AZ. There were only 3 of us that morning and our dedicated advisor was Maia who was fake, rude and condescending and it only got worse when she couldn't sell us anything. She had that fake laugh and giggle like she thought she was smart and was going to try and "buddy" up to us and sucker us into buying. A typical used car salesman type! When she realized she was getting nowhere she then had two others sit in and try to scam us into a package which they called a Membership Club. She claimed they sell to 64% of the people who attend each presentation which if it were true, then why lower the price so much and just wait for the next group to come it?
What was a dead giveaway that it was a scam was when the price went from $13,990.00 down to $9,600.00 and by the end it was down to $3.600.00, the yearly fee was down from $707.00 to $263.00 and they were even throwing is an 11 day trip to Cabo with free airfare for 2. It was so obvious it was a scam I was waiting for the kitchen sink to be thrown in too. Just remember the saying "If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is! Run fast & far away from this company as they're unethical and a waste of time and not worth sitting through for the discounted promotions.
Our biggest regret
Do Not Sign Anything!
We have reached our breaking point. This entire experience has been awful. They conveniently "forgot" to mention the endless fees and the fact that we have to pay even more just to keep the points we already bought. The staff is unresponsive and condescending, making it clear that once they have your signature, you no longer matter. We are mentally and financially exhausted and fed up with a service we havenât been able to use even once. This isn't a business, it's a scam.
Thank you Trustpilot
Thank you Trustpilot! I have to say Sapphire had a great presentation and I didnât feel pressured to buy. Everything they presented sounded fantastic and a real opportunity to enjoy vacations not just for me but for my entire family. When the wife and I left we had lunch. I got home and decided to see what Sapphire locations were available. Lucky for me the first thing I read were these reviews. My heart sank past my nether regions. I was in a panic and looked up my contract and found a cancellation page! It stated we had 5 calendar days to submit a cancellation form in person or my certified mail with proof of delivery. We decided to do both. We rushed to the post office and mailed off the form and followed up two days later with an in person visit. We got our cancellation form stamped! Thank you all for the reviews. If not for my curiosity and this website Iâd be stuck!
Avoid This Scam!
Avoid This Scam!
My wife and I were suckered into signing up for what turned out to be a total scam. The salesperson grossly misled us regarding how the membership actually works; the reality is nothing like what we were promised during the pitch. It's a worthless "product". We have been fighting to close our account, but Sapphire just gives us the runaround. We are tired of this company and its awful service. Stay far away, it's nothing but a headache.
I would advise everyone to stay awayâŠ
I would advise everyone to stay away from Sapphire Resorts! This timeshare company promises nothing but lies and then forces you to purchase! They made everything sound good, but everything was a lie. I have never even used this, but I am continually pressured to upgrade. I was told that the cost would be only $20 to upgrade, but I was charged $2,000! They know how to make everything sound good and then force you to purchase, but it is all lies! Do not fall for it! If I could give negative stars. I would!
Sapphire Is a Scam
I have felt nothing but lied to by Sapphire Resorts. They presented to me something that has not at all been reality. Nothing was disclosed to me accurately. Their sales representatives were persistent and not at all transparent about the terms of agreement, the cost, and the future obligations. I have been billed multiple times for the maintenance fees when I was told those were annual. This has presented a significant amount of stress due to the unexpected charges and higher-than-promised maintenance fees. I was led to believe that I was purchasing an investment and that I could rent it out to cover the expenses. That is not at all true. I have never even used this to vacation, and I just want to be let out of this timeshare lie that I was sold. Sapphire has been of zero help to me in coming to a resolution regarding this. Take it from me, DO NOT sign up for anything Sapphire tries to sell you! They are a scam!

I was initially shown a high-quality property during the presentation, but I quickly discovered that the actual inventory available through this company is significantly subpar, comparable to budget motels rather than premium resorts. It is misleading to showcase top-tier locations when the actual accessible properties do not meet those standards; in my experience, the quality I was looking for is only found through RCI. I am very disappointed in the disparity between the initial pitch and the reality of the accommodations provided.
Sapphire Resorts Scam
I have tried to resolve my frustrations with Sapphire in good-faith discussions, but they are exhausting. From the very beginning, they misled meâall the way back to the initial presentation. I was told at least three separate times that the membership fees at the end of the year would be a static $499. I was told the timeshare would be easy to use and understand, and that if need be, it could be resold without issue. None of this was true. They fed me lie after lie to convince me to sign on the dotted line.
After my initial purchase and rescission period expired, I received a service call at which time it was confirmed that the membership fee would continually increase. I immediately took exception to that; it was further explained to me that the package I had purchased was limited in points and how those points could be utilized. This added to my already frustration in trying to use the timeshare. I indicated a desire to sell and the service representative indicated that "in their experience, it would be much easier to sell my timeshare if I upgraded it." He misled me into thinking I could easily sell the timeshare, which gave me the peace of mind to upgrade, and that Sapphire would assist me in doing so. He preyed upon my reservations and my desire to exit the timeshare, and proceeded to up-sell me on the premise that the upgraded package would sell more quickly. This assertion was not fact, and was a disservice to me. The misinformation provided by Sapphire and its representatives is inconceivably unprofessional.
I have requested that they cancel my contract for their lies on multiple occasions. They continue to assert that Iâm to be a lifetime member of a club I want no part of. Sapphire Resorts is not just a timeshareâit appears to be a ring of elaborate scammers who will say and do anything they can to trick people into signing contracts for a product that has proven frustratingly difficult to utilize or book. I would like them to cancel my timeshare and refund their scam.
I am writing this to warn others aboutâŠ
I am writing this to warn others about the predatory sales tactics I experienced with Sapphire Resorts. During the sales presentation, we were completely transparent about the fragile state our family was in, explaining that our 18-year-old daughter had been murdered only months prior. We made it clear we could not afford a timeshare. Instead of showing professional boundaries, the manager used our loss as a sales tool. He told us he had lost his own son to suicide to build a sense of sympathy, telling us heâd reduce the price so we wouldn't "miss out on making the most of the time with our children here on earth." Under this intense emotional pressure, we were given several pieces of false information. We were told we could access discounted hotel rates ($150 or less for $400 rooms) even during years we didn't have points. We later found out this was untrue unless we "upgraded." We were never told about a 60-day window for "full ownership" until months later, when it was too late. We were promised annual maintenance fees of $511. Instead, they withdrew $607.08 without warning. We were emotionally targeted during our most vulnerable moment. This was not just a "bad deal"; it was deliberate misinformation and emotional manipulation. We are currently fighting to be released from this contract that was signed under false pretenses. Do everything you can to avoid this company at all costs!
Stay Away
I am writing this review to hopefully warn others to stay away from Sapphire Resorts! Doing business with Sapphire was a mistake. Please donât fall for it! I made this purchase with Sapphire Resorts over 10 years ago and have not once been able to use what they sold me. I have been in touch with Sapphire multiple times about these issues and have gotten absolutely nowhere with them. They continue to try to tell me how to use the timeshare when, at this point, after 10 years and not being able to use it, all I want is to be done with it and Sapphire completely. Along with being told the lie about the ease of using it, I was also told the maintenance fees would not increase that much over time, but they have. All of these lies and deceptions really show the true colors of Sapphire. Stay away and do not do business with this company.
Donât Fall For It
Take our advice and stay away from Sapphire Resorts! This company is an absolute fraud and will scam you out of your money! We were told nothing but lies from the beginning of signing up. We were told we could rent and make a profit from this ownership, and we canât. We were also told that our maintenance fees would not go up, which was a lie because they have. Why are we being forced to maintain ownership of something that has turned out to be a complete lie? We have tried repeatedly to come to a resolution by contacting Sapphire directly and have had zero success. We are done making payments to a company that does business this way. They have not provided us with the service they sold us and what was promised to us. Stay away and donât fall for their scheme.
Let this be a warning to you
Let this be a warning to you: do NOT do business with Sapphire Resorts. This company is a complete and total scam! I have been misled and lied to by Sapphire. I was told everything was easy to book, and that I could book anywhere, anytime. That has not been the case at all! I have reached out to Sapphire to try to cancel my membership. One of the representatives there gave me hope that the company would take the timeshare back. Once I started asking specific questions on how to go about doing this, all communication from Sapphire abruptly stopped. I have been left with no answers or resolution. Stay as far away from Sapphire as possible!
We have been ignored by Member ServicesâŠ
We have been ignored by Member Services for over 5 month now since sending an email requesting to close our account. It's frustrating that they are quick to contact us for payment but completely ignore us when we reach out with a serious account issue.
Sapphire Resorts has been a horribleâŠ
Sapphire Resorts has been a horrible experience! My family and I have never been able to use this at all. What we thought would be easy to use turned out to be all lies. We were misinformed about the costs and limitations of the timeshare and felt nothing but pressure from the salespeople. Even after I said no, they continued to push. The destinations they offered to us were undesirable, and then once COVID hit, we couldnât use it, but they still collected money from us. This entire thing feels like a fraud. Then they tried to get us to upgrade. Why would we upgrade something that weâve never used? To make all of this even worse, my wife was diagnosed with cancer, which has made paying for this even more challenging. I have reached out to Sapphire directly, trying to cancel my membership, and I continue to get denied. Do not do business with Sapphire Resorts
