Appalling customer service, slow response when my account was froozen
Saxo Go in Singapore – really poor customer service, long response times, clunky systems and incompetent and unresponsive staff. I would not recommend this platform.
I was sent a request to update my personal details and source of funds, which I complied with. My profile clearly states that I am retired and over 60. However, my account was frozen, as I was told I had not given details on i) My employer ii) My salary iii) How long I had worked. Clearly nobody thought that someone who is retired would not need to give this information.
I resent the same details about the sale of my flat but after spending a lot of time on emailing their staff and raising cases. After three days of requests that someone senior call me back, nobody called me. When you raise a case online you receive the reply that they will reply within five working days. If you raise a complaint, it could take five weeks to receive a reply.
After almost three days of emailing, my account was unfrozen. I pointed out that it is common sense that I would not have an employer and a salary if I am retired but nobody could give me an explanation.
During this time that my account was frozen I missed substantial buying opportunities.
The customer service staff would not give me the contact details of any manager and not commit to when someone would reply to me, despite having an account with a large amount of funds in it. I was not allotted one person to answer my enquiry and for three days had to explain the situation from the beginning to three different people, who appeared to be in India. I was told that the compliance dept closed at 6 pm and they would get back to me when they got back to me.
They have a clunky online customer service, sometimes you can wait for ages to be connect to an agent and I have frequently been cut off.
I am still waiting for an explanation on why my account was frozen.
Appalling customer service, especially if you have any issues. I would use one of the US share trading accounts.

Finally someone who cares about the customer.
It's always difficult dealing with online technology issues around your banking and in this case investment accounts, particularly when it involves a change of details, that have complications and old information attached to them. But Vivek did a terrfic job. Was responsive and prompt, following up with me each step of the way. It was such a relief, as typically I anticipate the worst with these sorts of calls, but in this case it was exceptionally smooth sailing and very clear what i needed to do to resolve my issue.

Great client support from Shivangi
Shivangi was a wonderful client support officer and was able to review and support my queries in a timely manner. She made sure to follow up with a call back once it was processed within Saxo, which i greatly appreciated.
