scam, they actually booked the hotel but added a $200 service fee on a $150 room, unrefundable, check the real reviews the service

If I could leave them zero stars, I would. This is a horrible service to try to book a room through. Had so many problems with their phone system. Put me on hold for 15 minutes to put through reservations for several rooms then came back on and started the process over but was then told the rooms I had booked were not available. Their cancellation policy (which they don't tell you on the phone) prior to the dates of a stay are a full one night plus taxes charge as a cancellation policy (luckily, I got this waved by an actual agent). When I was trying to call back in for a change, the bot kept on saying "Connection Error" and I had to call in six different times before I could actually talk to someone. Biggest problem is that when you go to many hotel websites, their number is the one listed for making reservations. Best bet is to call a hotel directly or use a reputable bookng service. NEVER AGAIN!!!!!

Hotel reservations is the worst and a scam. I booked a room and they added a refund protection to my charge. Same day I booked I cancelled so I can change the reservation date. They told me my cancellation was non refundable and they wouldn’t reinstate my original booking or give me another room. I’m out $400.

"Hotel Reservations" is a scam company. It was a number I called on the hotel's website. I gave my CC number after being assured it was fully refundable. I needed to cancel and was told I would only get back 40%. They have all kinds of different phone numbers, calls are disconnected, and you cannot dispute anything. TOTAL SCAM!

A reservation site to stay away from.
This company represents as Best Western, it is not it is a third party.
They don't have a regular website to modify your reservation. They also have an AI system that speaks rudely and interrupts.
They offer a cancelation plan for $13 that is subject to review.
They refused to change my dates even though it had only been 15 minutes.
They are a scam.
I fully intend on informing the State of Texas Attorney General's Office, Consumer Protection Division on the way the operate.

Yesterday afternoon I clicked on the hotels "Call" button. The original phone number was quickly overridden and a number that appeared to be the front desk by its ZIP code was dialed. I later found that the number I saw does not exist. The man on the call answered "Reservations", and I naturally assumed it was the hotels reservation system. He quoted me a price that I challenged, and he indicated that the price was up because I was getting the last room in the hotel. When I got to the hotel to check in, I mentioned to the lady at the front desk about the price. She said the price was ridiculous and that they were not full. I am challenging the charge through my charge card, but I don't know if that will be successful. As far as I am concerned, this company is nothing but a fraud. Be extra careful. Look up the hotels front desk phone number. Don't hit "Call".

UNFortunately I booked with them as well and dealing with a number of issues now. They did MISrepresent themselves as the hotel when I asked if booking through a third party. I asked the agent 3 times to confirm a window in the room, when I checked with the lodge/hotel the next day they said my reservation is a room without a window. (claustrophobic) As others have mentioned still waiting to hear back from their ‘expedited’ reservation dept. Now I better check my credit statement to make sure I wasn’t overcharged. Changed to USD after confirmation and instantly to non-refund also. Dodgy AF

If I could give a 0 I would. They are incredibly incompetent, I booked with them now needing to change dates. A week later they are “ reviewing’ my request! There are rooms available but they still have not made the change!!!
I have called every day and sent emails with the same reply it’s under review!
I purchased the cancellation protection but I am unable to cancel because it has to be a medical reason and I have to submit proof!!!
This is the worst company I’ve ever used! I’m 68 and travel frequently!

I had to file a dispute through my credit card company in oder to retrieve $643.16 from Hotelreservations.com. Today 7/17/2025 I found out my dispute was successful.

I was on line e looking g for room at hojos they usually around d 100 dollars pick room then notice it jump to $180 So I never finish the booking. But they did and now won't give back my $180 even though they even charged me insurance. Blami g on hotel I never stayed at cause I NEVER book it. Their rip off site did. I want my damn money back.

Made me think i called the hotel directly. Said there were no refunds and resort fees were included. Promised a $50 food credit. Got to the hotel had to pay almost $300 for the resort fees. Got a $25 food credit if i spent $200 at the restaurant. Will not release my recorded call to confirm what they promised!

Don’t do it! Paid a premium price for room and they added an $18 cancellation fee but refuse to refund us after we hit a deer and couldn’t make the drive.

Complete fraud. My assistant thought she was booking directly with hotel. When I got the actual hotel receipt the total cost with local room taxes was $203.35. My card was charged $344.30. The invoice started by claiming the room cost was $262.52, then they added what they called "Taxes and Fees" of $63.72 - however all such taxes were covered in the $203.35 price. They admitted that none of the $63.72 went to taxes and no one could explain the room cost difference of $59.17 that was added before their $17.99 Service fee and fake tax charge. I finally got to a so-called supervisor who said they would respond via e-mail with-in 5 days regarding a refund - we shall see.

Never use Hotel Reservation 800-497-2175. Booked 8 rooms for 3 nights through these CROOKS, needed to cancel 1 room a month before check in. First call to the 800 number I was told I had to cancel all 8 rooms and then rebook. 2nd call I had to pay a 1 night fee to cancel. The rule and regulations dealing with these people changes all the time.
They misrepresented themselves as the hotel, lied about all the great services they provide and lock you in so you can only pay them more dollars to modify anything. SHADY characters.

scam! they let you think you're calling the hotel directly. In my case they didn't even book the hotel for the right date, so it was a total loss of money.

Thought I was booking direct via holiday park website. Paid $132 for a 1 bed en-suite unit at Rangiora Eco Holiday Park, was given a $84 rent-a-room trailer with a garden shed (with stained toilet, no light or running water). Eco must stand for Economical (with the truth). Owner blamed Booking.com (which I had not used). Filthy holiday park, run down, everything dirty. Do not stay here. Check URL when booking and avoid hotelreservations.com like the plague.

I thought inwas booking directly with redroof inn. They charged me 144$ for a 81$ a day room. My girlfriend had covid the first and last time I thought I was using them. They informed me that my same day cancelation was from the hotel not agreeing. The same hotel i had booked through them before, canceled my same day booking a couples weeks later because my girlfriends uncle had passed away. So, hotel reservations lied and tried to put it on redroof inn. I tried to contact the business, but the automated service won't allow me to progress past the beginning. It's continuously hangs up on me! Pay attention to who you're using and avoid reservation.com!!!

As a small hotel owner, I believe this company is perpetrating fraud. They have impersonated us on numerous occasions and have charged excessive fees. They do not allow us to communicate with the guest directly, so we cannot provide guests the best experience. Their phone number comes up as if you were calling the hotel directly and they act as if they work for the hotel directly. I don’t know if I have legal recourse, but they are a detriment to our business.

Consumer fraud at a grand scale...falsely mimic actual hotel site and hijack your reservation...tack on excessive service charges and dont allow changes/cancellations.
