A disappointing and unprofessional experience

Following a follow-up call from Hummingbird Agency inviting me to arrange a consultation, I mentioned to the booking clerk - the timing was perfect. I booked a call, completed all the qualifying questions and received confirmation for an appointment scheduled two weeks later.

Unfortunately, Tom did not attend the call. I received no advance notification, cancellation or request to reschedule. After sending two messages and an email to check whether everything was all right, I received a response later explaining that urgent meetings had arisen. There was still no offer to rearrange the appointment.

Unexpected situations happen, but good customer service depends upon how they are handled. Hummingbird uses Calendly, which provides straightforward options to cancel or reschedule appointments. A simple message, or an automated cancellation would have shown basic courtesy and prevented my time from being wasted.

If my answers to the qualifying questions indicated that I was not a suitable client, an honest and timely message would have been entirely acceptable. Failing to attend a confirmed appointment without notice, then not offering to rebook, created a very poor impression at the beginning of the customer journey.

What has prompted me to leave this review is that I am still receiving marketing emails from Tom. If I am not considered a suitable client, please update your mailing list and stop sending further communications.

I cannot comment on the agency’s client work, but based on my direct experience, the communication and service I received were unacceptable. It is perhaps fortunate that we did not proceed to work together.
