The customer service I have received has been consistently outstanding
The customer service I have received from iContainers has been simply outstanding. I would like to especially call out the Air Freight Team Leader, for her careful attention to two recent shipments, one of which was a small box, hardly a profitable shipment for iContainers. I felt I received the same service as if I had shipped full containers for thousands of dollars in shipping fees. She provides an outstanding example of customer service.
The customer service I have received from my account representative and the Export Operations Specialist for their excellent customer service also.
It is because of the customer service that I will highly recommend iContainers to anyone needing an international shipping service.
BEWARE! Shipping to Spain was a nightmare
I had a really bad experience shipping a pallet of personal effects (used books, clothes, shoes etc) from new York city to Barcelona, where we were moving back to. They were efficient at taking my money, all up front, and booking the freight on fedex. They told me what paperwork was required, approved what I sent them, and the shipment got held up in Spanish customs because the paperwork wasn't right. It turns out that your padrón (the document that records your presence and address in Spain) can't be dated more than a year prior to the shipping date. So Spanish customs demanded about â¬4000 in taxes on a shipment valued at $1300. They arrived at this amount because they charge 21% VAT on value + ship cost. Our shipping cost was $1700 but because we shipped by air some formula per kilo was used instead of the actual cost. This was all news to Icontainers, whose response, one week later, was to ask their customs agent, fedex spain, "what do we do?". I got nothing but platitudes for 3 weeks from Icontainers. Meanwhile storage costs were mounting, my wife needed her books for her job, we had no warm clothes, etc. There was talk of the pallet being sent back to new York if we didn't pay this â¬4000-ish tax (I couldn't get a bill or even an exact amount from them). I tried writing to the anonymous fedex email that they were using (they cc'd me on a few emails to them), but I got no response and apparently, neither did they. I spent half a day knocking on doors at the Barcelona airport's freight periphery, finally squeezing past security in the fedex building, where I found someone sympathetic. She didn't work in the customs area but knew people who did, and gave me a name of a customs subinspector who would see me. He looked at the file and suggested I change the owner of the shipment to my wife, as she had a padrón that was more recent. I sent this documentation to Icontainers and kept waiting. Nothing. I finally found another customs agent, had to pay fedex to release me from the contract Icontainers had set me up with them, and pay the customs guy 200â¬. He changed the name to my wife's and 12 hours later the pallet was delivered.
The stress of this, all our stuff and particularly my wife's entire library possibly getting sent back to new York and racking up thousands more in air freight and God knows what other fees, was pretty intense. The Icontainers people in Miami left me out to dry My hunch is they have much bigger fish to fry than a family moving a pallet of their personal possessions.
Extremely Delayed Shipment and Poor Communication
I used iContainers to ship a baby crib from Los Angeles to Singapore, expecting it to take the standard 7â10 days (as it had for a friend who shipped the exact same type of package). Instead, the entire experience was disorganized, frustrating, and ended up taking almost two months.
Communication was extremely poor throughout the process. I had to follow up repeatedly just to confirm whether my payment had been receivedâdespite sending it three separate times. There was no proactive update, no clear timeline, and no sense of urgency from their side. Yet I still ended up paying the same amountâover $550âfor a shipment that took almost eight times longer than expected.
Thankfully, I had planned ahead and didnât urgently need the crib, but if I had needed it right after giving birth, this would have been a complete disaster. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend iContainers. Their lack of organization and communication caused unnecessary stress, and the service I received absolutely did not match the cost.

Extorted by movers and price more than doubled
Unfortunately I used Icontainers to relocate my household items from Toronto, Ontario, Canada to Panama City, Panama. I worked with Christina Armigo, Manel Aragones, and Ana Echeverri, and my experience was a total nightmare.
I agreed to a relocation package with a defined timeline and price, but after paying and signing the documents, their team pushed back my delivery date and increased my price by nearly $1,000.
I gave Christina 7 weeks notice to coordinate my move, but the process has still been an unorganized and chaotic disaster.
During the loading process of putting my household items into the shipping container in Toronto, the movers also attempted to extort me for $1,600 saying icontainers didnât pay them!
Due to their carelessness and terrible planning, I was forced to rent a furnished apartment in Panama City for 2 months, and I accrued another ~$10,000 in expenses.
My relocation fees more than doubled because of icontainers unprofessional negligence. I highly discourage anyone to work with them.
It's not really a shipping company
It's not really a shipping company. All they do is take your information and then arrange your shipment, connecting you with various services, packing, loading, moving, unloading, storage, etc., while they're in the middle taking their part. They're just intermediaries. They don't offer any services directly. and they want the whole payment upfront. so as they not offer any services directly their dates are only approximate, so don't count on time in advance to get your plane tickets. They can give you notice from one day to the next, making you pay much more for your plane ticket.I do not recommend this ""company"" at all.

The biggest mistake of my life wasâŠ
The biggest mistake of my life was choosing this company. They gave me a quote of 11630 Euros to import 2 x 40ft HC containers from China to Barcelona and now 2 months later I have an invoice for 47000 Euros. They keep sending new invoices every day. I am taking them to court. Stay away from this company.
