Horrible company
. We claimed our insurance in December and they FORGOT to processes it!!! We waited till end of January and now they are saying January bookings are closed and they cannot process until February. Stay away from this company, very immature and unreliable. I’ll chase my money and keep sending email to them until I received my claim. Total joke, it’s been 2 months and no payment has been done. I hope someone reach me out to solve this unacceptable attitude ASAP!!

Cargo Damage Claim Denied Before Requested Photos Could Be Submitted

I shipped my household goods (boxes only) from China to Germany. A high-end espresso machine was damaged. The shipment was originally palletized, but arrived as individual, partly damaged boxes.

I reported the damage immediately upon delivery, documented the delivery status, and provided photos. The claim was filed according to the insurer’s requirements. They requested additional photos, but the claim was denied the very next day—before I was able to submit the requested photos—stating that improper packaging was evident. I filed an appeal and submitted a comprehensive photo presentation with all relevant information. Two days later, I received only a one-sentence response confirming the denial.

Conclusion: In my view, this is a clear warning sign regarding claims handling. If you are not based in the U.S. and the insured value is not very high, you should carefully assess the practical risk before choosing this insurer.

my experience with ITI goes back over


my experience with ITI goes back over 25 years. they are my provider. usually complaints stem from the misunderstanding of the clauses of cover. its important for the sales person to explain areas that may be vague or confusing. in short if one follows the rules the process is actually pretty quick. I rate them 5 stars.

Inter Trans Insurance

I have moved around the world numerous times and dealt with different insurance companies every time. My most recent experience with Inter Trans Insurance was extremely disappointing. I understand that insurance companies must be diligent, but the representative i dealt with lacked common sense and denied payment for property that was damaged, which was the entire reason i purchased insurance in the first place. Hiding behind endless terms and conditions that are design to prevent reasonable payouts is unethical business practice. This is the first time i ever had such an issue in over 20 years of global moves. No insurance company is perfect, but Inter Trans Insurance is by far the poorest one i have ever encountered.

Honestly happy wiht the process

Honestly, I’m really happy with this insurance company. I wasn’t sure what to expect at the beginning, but they surprised me in a good way. Everything was explained clearly, no confusing, no pressure, just straight answers. Whenever I had a question, someone actually replied fast and took the time to help me understand things properly.

What I liked the most is that they made the whole process way easier than I thought it would be. You don’t feel like just another number — they actually treat you like a person, which nowadays is rare. There were a couple of small delays here and there, but nothing major, and they always kept me updated so it didn’t bother me.

Overall, really good experience. I feel safe with them and I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking for proper, reliable insurance without all the stress.

Avoid! Avoid! Avoid!

Zero Star (if I could)!! Should have listened to the other reviewers who have posted before me. ITI is an absolute and total fraud
Definition of “evil” in the insurance sector, take hefty premiums but then find excuses to not pay out claims. I had two decorative items which were damaged in overseas transit for which I then claimed insurance from ITI. They started aggregating items across the full shipment and making preposterous assumptions (10 items in one box) which are never declared in their T&Cs but apparently are “general practice” to ensure the claimed amount is less than the excess so they don’t have to pay out. Charlatans!! Avoid them at any cost, including relocators who don’t give any other insurance company option

No se hicieron cargo de nada y luego de tranajar semanas Ena’s reclamations el 24 de Deciwmbre de 2024 nos dice que se ha presentation fuera de de ha (????) una verdadadera verguenza. No la importa nada boa chicken perder tiempo y he is period miles y miles de dollars en roturas, muebles, espejo a, vanilla, Adornos, dos sofas nuevos de Terciopelo. Se hacen loa ana les via Correo electronics pero ellos tiene todo Armando y panic do para no pagarte un centavo. Además de haber pagado mules de dólares del seguro no se hacen cargo y la persona que escribe loa emails es una verdad era BASURA que se hacia la amiable pero es una ESTAFADORA . No los contraten son ESTAFADOREA PROFESIONALES

We have now been waiting well over a month for an air freight to be delivered from China to the UK the only thing they seem interested in was getting paid up front. Our usual shipping agent takes just over a week and it only takes 6 weeks by sea at a tenth of the cost. Their UK agents are rude and service is terrible they just only seem to care about getting your money. The shipment has still not been delivered and we still have no delivery date despite the goods being collected in October . There are many good agents that give good service there is no need to use this company , I suggest to every one you dont.

Small move from China to England

Was insured with this company for a small move (eight boxes in total) from China to England as they were the removal companies insurance. All of the boxes were opened and rummaged through. Items were selectively taken, others were damaged (broken, smashed, torn, bent - anything that could be done was). The claim was valued at 1/4 of the cost that was originally indicated on the inventory form (their value $49) and they argued every point. As has been said in numerous reviews this insurance company are a con - don't use under any circumstances.

Inter Trans Insurance, California - don't bother

As others have commented, you may as well not be insured. Delivery from Dubai, numerous items damaged totalling well over $1,000, offered $80. Then we tried to resubmit as there was an item description discrepancy and after a couple of weeks they said that the 45 day claim period had expired, so unable to process the change of description. Don't use this company.
Trust Pilot should allow you to award zero stars!

You may as well not be insured

My client Insured with InterTrans Insurance for my move from Dubai to UK. The process started in March this year. My goods were delivered on 8th June and he unpacked on 7th July only to find my television screen smashed. He requested his insurance certificate that day and they eventually sent it in the 12th July. He filed a claim on 13th July and awaited correspondence that never came. He filed another claim (which takes half a day by the way) on 22 August, and on that claim stated that he had previously claimed and heard nothing. He then received an email saying it would be another 60 days before I heard anything, as they needed to get paperwork from the movers. Obviously 60 days came and went, still nothing. He contacted them again and they said they hadn’t had the paperwork from the movers. He contacted the movers who said it had all been sent over. He then contacted InterTrans who said that they had received it and would review it. Four days later he received an email saying they are declining the claim as it was over the 45 days from delivery. He has told them that the original claim was in time and that the second one was just to make sure. There’s no point using this company to insure your things. It’s basically not insured.

Never again

It all started well, but when the claim was submitted and questions arose, ITI's handling of it was intolerable. This should never happen. Clients with claim-related questions have already undergone a nightmare. I had to deal for eight months with a lying and cheating shipping company that did not deliver on our contract. I provided plenty of evidence of that, which should make customer focus a top priority.
However, ITI sent a poorly written and confusing form filled with 100+ words long sentences that included what looked like an attempt to add some new T&C to the contract, and push acceptance of a “compromise”.
When I asked for an explanation and suggested they rewrite that form, they wanted me to get "my own attorney" to try to make sense of it.
After I gave my feedback on this, the claims clerks began to refuse to deal with me. That’s despite the fact that I (not my wife) had paid for shipping and insurance and was the one who was in touch with them via email and phone for several months.
It appears that keeping close ties with this amateurish shipping company did matter the most.
ITI’s leader also did not reply when I informed him about my experience.
Their website keeps boasting their self-claimed “fine reputation”; another proof of their misinterpretation of what shapes best reputations. The fact is, it is all about outcomes, not messaging.
This is a company I will never again accept as an insurer for any of my future shipments.

Do not allow your mover to insure with Intertrans

This insurance company is absolutely untrustworthy. We purchased insurance through a mover out of China (Shanghai to UK move) who purchased insurance through Intertrans Insurance Services. Never once did we sign a contract with Intertrans. Never contacted by them. Now they claim they don't cover electronics--the entire reason the policy was purchased. On the phone, the employee stated "we do not ask for any records until a claim is filed". So they never asked for an inventory of goods, never asked us to sign any documents, and never confirmed we were the owners of the policy. Absolutely in cahoots with the movers to defraud people of the insurance premium.
