I was riding my bike (17/9/24) on Dean lane in hazel grove which has a dedicated cycle lane and footpath when I found a jewsons delivery lorry parked on the cycle lane and it's hydraulic support arms blocking the footpath, if I had not noticed very quickly the arms which are head high I could have been seriously injured as I took to the footpath to avoid going into oncoming traffic, there were no warning signs or any indication of unloading of big bags of aggregate happening.
When I voiced my concerns to the jewson driver guess what I was told it was tough and was aggressive and very unhelpful.
The builders then joined in and I got verbally abused. I will be reporting this to the HSE who hopefully will look into this incident

Two amazing staff from Hayle Cornwall, helped me and my family drive our vandalised car. These individuals who helped wrap and tape the rear window screens are an asset to Jewsons and society. I’ve never used Jewsons before, but will be my first choice from now. Thanks both

After being very let down by HSS hire who had forgotten to take a booking and then showed no interest in helping we contacted Jewsons who could mit have been more helpful! Would not hesitate to use Jewsons as their customer service is second to none!!!

Needed to hire a cement mixer. Called a local branch near Wolverhampton who transferred me to Walsall's branch. Was told they would get a quote back to me, same day, so we at our company could process it and order one. This would have been an ongoing thing. No call back. So I tried numerous times to get through - no joy. I called the branch the next day and was promised they would get a couple of quotes back and apologised for the inconvenience. Guess what? Our company which is worldwide believe in customer satisfaction and this is as bad as it gets. It's shame I had to leave 1 star. We won't deal with Jewson's again.

Twice as expensive to hire than any other hire company. Delivery/collection charges were more costly than the hire of a mixer for a day (£15 for each 5-mile trip). They did not disclose delivery charges at the point of hire. Most other hire companies offer free delivery.

Jewsons have since refunded me £18 following a moan from a relative who has a builders account with them. However, even with this, the total hire costs were still far higher than elsewhere.

I have only been dealing with Jewson’s at the Brasted branch for the last 6-weeks but can only say how impressed I have been with the staff there, in particular Molly for all her help and assistance. Also one of the most pleasant delivery drivers I have ever met. First class company.

Never did any kind of block paving and I and my partner needed some help. I can't fault the guy that help us. Customer service brillant.

Manager at jewson civils Ipswich is Rude. Only interested in what you spend, if you enquire about something small she isn’t interested. Ongoing problems with orders that are wrong ect and branch management always blaming other staff. Also it seems she makes up prices as she likes, it appears that If she isn’t hitting her targets she puts the prices up, then when I get invoiced I have to dispute them with accounts…. Just wasted time. After taking to other branches she’s well known for this and I have been told by other jewsons branches not to go to foxhall road and to call the other branches to order, anyone would think it’s all separate companies! There’s two other jewson branches nearby and a Travis so recommend going there instead

Hire costs vague, my advice, get a full WRITTEN quote before paying your deposit.

Ordered a mini digger from Farnborough branch. Received order confirmation but the the promised phone call to confirm delivery never came. Chased up Customer Services who transferred me to the branch who never answered phone and line kept going dead. Cancelled order and hired from a competitor. Never use these guys again

Jewson undertook a brick match on site. A week later bricks were ready but too busy to deliver. Our builder collected and once on site found the bricks did not match. No even a similar match. Now waiting for bricks to continue job. Builder currently twiddling his thumbs as he cannot complete the job. Front garden looking like a builder's merchants as a result.

Checking my banking app. Money are not out but are "pending".
Order again. This order shows in my online account, money are getting out after pending for a day or two.
Order to be delivered after a few days. Today is the day.

Decided to call the branch at 13:00. "It's on the lorry".
14:45, the goods are finally delivered.
Wasted day, wasted tradespeople's time, wasted money.
The money for the first order are still showing "pending".
I really wanted this to work. It didn't. Poor experience. I'll be going back only if there is no other choice.

Went to the Hexham store after a very poor experience with a paint from a leading DIY megastore, the paint was not covering. Got great service from Annmarie who took time to get the colour I was after and went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. Credit where it's due.

Quoted price was increased on delivery day despite being ordered and price agreed prior to delivery less than 2 weeks from order. Ordered on account so have no choice to accept price increase. How can a quoted price be increased once agreed at point of sale. Their explanation is that their supplier increased the costs of the materials so have passed it on to us. Untrustworthy company and will not be using again. We do not recommend using Jewsons.

Prices are not competitive, unable to stick to delivery schedules, unable to deliver the correct products. When you speak to the staff about it they say that it’s coming from the top down and that there is nothing they can do about it. The worst builders merchants in the country.

Excellent delivery of four huge bags of chippings. Driver / delivery man had a brilliant know knowledge of his remote lifter and gently delivered with professionalism. Very friendly and polite, I called the office to say what a brilliant member of staff they have he was that good. And the price was a bonus. Thank you JEWSONS👌

Absolutely useless - arranged to hire a machine online, promised a call back to confirm delivery details and heard nothing for a week. Tried to call them three times, no answer.

What fantastic service! used both Canterbury and Coulsdon branches, staff really knowledgeable, very helpful and really go the extra mile. Would highly recommend.

I am a retired builder but still do odd jobs, and I had a nasty dealing with Roofing Megastore ripping me off, so I went to Jewsons in Harrogate and a fantastic young man spent time helping me sort out my problem. Many thanks to Jewsons helpful friendly staff.
