Arranged a delivery of equipment and materials with Meg at Highgate, called the day before to check everything, she dodged my calls all morning. Clearly forgotten about me. Luckily I can move the gang onto another job, won't be using this lot again.

Had a load of topsoil delivered March-April time this year. The quality frankly was quite appalling. A disaster spreading it over my rose beds. Full of weeds, lumps of clay when wet. Lifted off solid lumps the size of tennis balls. Gave the impression it had just been removed from a building site. It looked OK when I examined it dry at the premises. Sadly I was mistaken. Not so much because of the cost.

Hired a compactor plate for the day from the Loughborough branch. Excellent service and great delivery. Gavin was very helpful and professional. Will definitely use again.

Used the chorley branch for an order worth around £800 for a big renovation job, was charged a delivery fee when I was specifically told it would be free due to the amount paid, when I rang to have it refunded staff were short and downright rude, I returned to the branch later that day to buy some land drains, only to find they were incomplete (missing the couplings) when I spoke to the manager he was completely uninterested and rude, I said if this is how you treat your customers, I will go to berry's. His response then go and get a refund and go to berry's. Unbelievable!! Full order was refunded and I have taken my business to berry's and they are 100% better.

Used Jewsons for years and have a credit account with no problem, spent tens of thousands with them over this time. An error in the office meant a £250 invoice wasnt settled in good time and added onto the following months payment. Account up to date but want to try and charge me £200 late fee....I'll take my business and money to Travis Perkins going forwards

Twice Jewson said they would deliver ‘am’. Never arrived on time so builders had to go home. The only reason I ordered from Jewson was because of deliver time they said they could do

After posting a 1* review on Trustpilot, Jewson asked my to provide details of the order so they could look into it.
I took the time to send all the information requested but several weeks later have had absolutely no response.
Why waste my time asking for information if you aren't going to look into it?!

I have just had the best customer experience today from Jewson. The driver delivering was very helpful, Jen in the office at Jewson, Dumbarton, was off the scale helpful, and without a doubt I'll be using them again. :)

Went in to buy a spindle ,unfortunately they did not stock them , so a kind gentleman spent time looking up what size and style I needed and printed off a picture for me. What a brilliant service

Hired the Garden Shredder 6.5hp (Honda GX200 petrol engine) for a day from the Reading Branch. Ordered over the phone and Josh could not have been more helpful. Nearest Shredder was in Walton so it was moved over for my hire. I was kept fully informed. Les the delivery man was also helpful by providing verbal instructions on how to use the machine. Machine worked fine. Pickup was straightforward. Deposit charge and refund went through smoothly. Overall a very good experience.

Huge thanks to Lewis of Dinnington branch of Jewson. So much more helpful than the Wombwell person who never bothered to obtain the brick sample or call me.

I’m really disappointed as I wasted my time going to the Reading store that announce on their website and google that closes at midday but I went there at 11:50 and there were already 2 staff members blocking customers from entering. As soon I’ve parked the the car they rudely closed the gate. I just wanted to checked something that would take me 5 minutes maximum so I would leave at 11:55. I understand that the shop needs to close at 12 but I don’t understand why they didn’t let me go in just for 5 minutes. You lost £400. That is not acceptable. That was my last time as a customer.

Harpenden team are simply lovely. Popped in yesterday to ask about angle grinder, hire team went out of their way to help me choose correct size tool for job. Explained best to hire online and what ID to bring in. Came back today to collect tool and again the team went out of their way to help me with sundries as they could tell I hadn’t used it before but absolutely not patronising. Genuinely helpful.

i ordered an item online to collect at my local store in Ramsgate. initially the payment was not accepted and was asked to try again which I did and payment went through. When I went to collect my item there were two! I explained what happened and requested a refund. After several phone calls and broken promises of a call back and after being passed from pillar to post I was eventually given the Customer Service number who said to contact my bank. I disagreed with this and after further discussion I was told my refund would be sent. I have received my refund today.This process took just over 4 weeks! I will not be using the online service again.

Edit - to their credit, Jewson did contact me after I posted on here, and gave me a refund. So amending my review here to reflect that. Thank you, Jewson Leicester.

Drove 160 mile round trip to Leicester to pick up doorframe for customer as size not available at local store. This branch were obviously out of stock too, so rather than saying so just gave me a random size instead. By the time customer tried to install and noticed, 3 days too late to return.

Bunch of dishonest twits. First and last time I use this company.

Went to Jewsons to buy a screw driver, screws and WD40. My wife and I were staying in our static caravan in Aberaeron South Wales. I needed to refit a gate going onto our caravan decking area. I had brought the gate with me to Jewsons. I had struggled to remove the metal hinges from the gate. Not only did Mr Tom Mumford, the Manager of Jewsons, sell me the bits and pieces I needed, he removed the old hinges and fitted the new ones. This was over and above any thing I expected. Mr Mumford understood the situation I was in and the difficulties I had encountered removing corroded screws etc. I would like to express my gratitude to Mr Mumford and would certainly recommend Jewsons of Aberaeron to my family, friends and anyone else reading this review. 5 Star Treatment !

I always find the staff at the York James Street store friendly and very helpful, no matter how big or small the order/query, and just wanted to mention particular thanks to Samuel who today assisted with a slightly awkward order - thank you.

Excellent Experience !!!

A skip lorry hired by my roofers, through Jewsons, knocked down my front garden wall last October. It was properly and politely reported to us and to the company by the driver, with photos and our contact details, but no-one then made any contact with me.

I had to search to discover their exact name/address details online (ETM Recycling, Bristol) and phone to demand repairs. It still took some time to connect with the right manager by email but they did NOTHING except delay and prevaricate.

Eventually, I got a local builder to repair the wall and sent them the bill, but they made no effort at all to help, insisted on photographic evidence, and in total it has taken nearly 6 months to complete the repair and get reimbursement.

They paid my builder's invoice eventually today, but have not offered any recompense for all the work and effort I had to put in myself, to clean up the damage after them, and to arrange the repairs myself, nor for the long period of living behind an unsightly collapsed front wall.

I have a long string of email correspondence from Nov 23 to March 24 which demonstrates their attitude throughout.

ETM Recycling, Bristol, deserve NEGATIVE stars- do not use them, even if suggested by Jewsons!

Went to hire a braker gave me the option to collect at local store….then turns out local store don’t do hire (even though it was an option online!?) so I have to just have it delivered instead a pain but no biggy gives me the opportunity to get it delivered tomorrow. Few hours later I am told they ain’t delivering this week (once again why have this week as an option to have delivery ?!). Never will I be going to Jewsons again. Very poor service from start to finish.
