Ordered one box of vinyl flooring online, on Saturday, with only stock available in Rutherglen depot available for collection at 7.45am on the Monday. I got a telephone call on Monday at 3.30 from Rutherglen depot to say sorry there was a glitch in the system and they did not have this in stock. They agreed to refund my card. I then got a text message on Tuesday to say my order was ready for collection from Rutherglen. I called them and they said 9 boxes arrived yesterday but for another customer. They also told me I would have to contact the website myself to request a refund. However the email I received with my order confirmation is a "no reply" address. I will now have to take this up with my credit card company to chase my refund. If I could rate zero I would.

Do not go to Jewsons if you do not have an account. Their prices are nearly twice what you would pay elsewhere eg Wickes, Shields in Tavistock etc having just compared my latest purchases.

I normally do not do reviews, however this time I'm so impressed, that I really feel obliged and would like to let other people know. For the past year I've been establishing my new business from scratch in Swanscombe. I was building facilities and cafe for my customers from ground up. At the beginning I tried various, well known building materials suppliers and every single one I've approached was an utter let down and disappointment, until I walked in to Jewsons in Dartford. This review is not about the quality of materials or prices, which are good enough for my needs, this is about people who work there. I've never been in Dartford branch before. Warm welcome from the doorway, wealth of knowledge and expert advice and really caring attitude from every single member of the team. They went above and beyond of any of my expectations. I'm no special, they just made me feel like one! Priceless! David, Sue, all lads in the shop and yard - I'm very grateful for your support throughout! Please, keep up the good work and in my next project your branch will be my only point of contact.

I closed my account if 40 years last month. Now I see I was right.

After my review I complained to Jewson and their reply was.
" That's the price we cannot support you." Guess that means cannot help me.
I have now bought the timber and my opinion is that Jewson are greedy and overpriced beyond reason.

Good morning, I’ve been using this branch for about two years the staff are second to none. They make the experience. I’ve been in store when Diy-ers”, struggle to know what they are looking for, Richard and the staff are very patient, professional, knowledgable and helpful with all members of the public.
I also use the hiring process from Dominic in store, from gas heaters to large table saws for site.
I always enjoy visiting this store or calling off materials from all the staff.

Jewson's delivered to a neighbouring property on 10th January. When leaving they damaged our large established hedge. We reported the damage and a MSN visited from the store, confirming that it was caused by Jewson. Despite many attempts at chasing and being fobbed off with an insurance claim number, we've heard nothing. I would avoid deliveries from Jewson where possible, as it seems reading the reviews, we're not the only ones experiencing this problem!

But I bought a roll of "Hippo" masking tape - the worst masking tape I have ever purchased in my life.
Virtually no glue whatsoever - it could just as well be paper strip.!!
In future I will go to a local merchant for all my stuff, where masking tape (just as an example) is HALF THE PRICE and VASTLY SUPERIOR QUALITY.

Asked about tool hire and was put through to Dave, who was totally inappropriate with me just because I don’t have a penis (I am a 56 year old hetero female). Have emailed customer service about this and was promised a reply within 48 hours. That was two weeks ago and still no reply. Very unimpressed. And the prices were outrageous. Borrowed the ladders/platforms I needed off neighbours, and was pleased to gift them wine and chocolates as a thank you, rather than bolster Jewson profits

I went to my local Jewson’s to get some 47x 125mm treated timber and was charged £4.58 per metre! I complained and was told this was a trade price! I had a roof open so had no choice but to pay this. I have since checked with other builders merchants and Jewson’s are more than double the price. Avoid them at all costs if you need building materials.

Very knowledgeable and understanding of the product that we need and a great help. We will be happy to use Jewsons again. As long as there's people like luke. thanks again luke for your all your help. Darren

Called into St James northampton branch today and was served by Gareth. Very friendly, helpful and a credit to the company.

This company bumped into my car while making a delivery, the manager came out to look at my car which he wouldn't have bothered to do unless the driver admitted it, but since he investigated and realised there was no CCTV or proof he decided the company wasn't going to pay for the damage to my car! What an honest company, don't go near them with a bargepole!
Pretended to investigate but I knew they would cover for their driver, what a disgraceful company, don't use them they are the pitts!

I ordered 3 bags of gravel and it was dumped at my door two bags were split open.i phoned and man said they would replace didn't happen.
Poor customer service don't recommend

All I can say Matt(store manager) is as good as gold. When something goes wrong he is the man who can sort it out.

I hired a scaffold tower. I was accused of denting a pole, however, they refused to investigate despite my protestations that i believe the damage was done by the driver. A complaint was lodged against the driver who was rude. there is a lack of management control at this organisation. Not a good supplier. I sent an email enquiring about why the cost of slabs was more on as a account holder than on the website. they didnt bother to respond.

update. After having lodged a complaint with customer care services, it was referred to the branch in question. This again was handled with contempt for me as a customer. Ok, yes the branch manager phoned back the next day, but didnt refer to himself as such, the result of all this was in their words" have no intention of doing anything". Clearly they are incapable of acknowledging that a customer has a grievance and are not interested in looking after their customers from the biggest to the smallest. Lodging a complaint was a complete waste of time and for a national company to take this dogmatic contemptuous attitude is disgraceful.

I have had terrible experiences in the largs branch. I have spent thousands in this branch and have recently been experiencing terrible rudeness and arrogance from the manager in the store. This has resulted in me stopping shopping there and taking my company business elsewhere to purchase the tools and materials I need for my job.

I’m a hgv driver I had the misfortune of delivering there recently the goods in staff are incredibly rude and arrogant I’m going to phone in sick the next time I get a delivery there

Ordered a door and it gave the option of a delivery date 3 days later, took the day off work only to realise that was just my preference of delivery date and the door isn’t available for “1-2 weeks”, could have been made clearer in the confirmation email but no big deal, it’s now been 4 weeks and the branch that is delivering my door said “good news your door is here” when I called to inquire, expected me to come and collect it even though I selected home delivery. It’s been 3 days since then and still no delivery date confirmed.
