Based on the positive reviews I had seen about Chantelle Hill @ Crystal Peaks, I felt confident that I would be in safe hands and decided to use Just Mortgages for my first-time buyer journey.
Initially, the experience was positive. The meeting itself went well, and Chantelle made me feel welcome and reassured. As someone who can be anxious about these processes, I appreciated the friendly approach and was told that my Mortgage in Principle would be sent to me shortly afterwards.
Unfortunately, this is where the positive experience ended. Despite waiting two weeks, I received nothing. Communication throughout the process was extremely poor, even though I had clearly explained that email was my preferred method of contact due to my irregular working hours.
My Mortgage in Principle eventually arrived several days later, which was a relief, and I began searching for properties. When I found a property I wanted to purchase, I informed Chantelle and was told she would contact the estate agents and submit an offer on my behalf. After hearing nothing for several days, I ended up contacting the estate agent myself and submitting the offer directly, which was subsequently accepted.
Further emails then went unanswered, and when I finally received a response, another appointment was arranged but never confirmed. On the day of the appointment, I received a phone call asking where I was, despite never having received confirmation that the meeting was actually going ahead.
At that point, I decided to move to another mortgage broker. The contrast in service was significant, with much better communication and responsiveness.
Overall, I was left very disappointed with my experience at Just Mortgages. I genuinely do not understand why my experience was so different from the many positive reviews I had read beforehand. Perhaps the adviser was managing too many clients at once, but regardless of the reason, the lack of communication and follow-through made what should have been an exciting experience unnecessarily stressful.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend Just Mortgages.

If you’re looking for someone who will support you every step of the way with mortgages and insurance, James is the person to speak to.

Just Mortgages are incredibly lucky to have James as part of their team—he is a true asset to the business. He has helped make our dream of owning our own home a reality, something we genuinely didn’t think was possible. We can’t thank James enough for all of his support, guidance, patience, and dedication throughout the entire process.

Sam is absolutely amazing and completed my mortgage purchase a breeze when others said they could not help. He is a mortgage whizz and explains everything clearly. He is truly amazing at what he does, so promptly too. He is the best in the business.

We had a horrendous experience some time ago - the broker was lying, providing false information and eventually harming the process which was ruined. We fully DO NOT RECOMMEND dealing with Mr Kapotwe on any matter.

Myself and my partner have had difficulty finding a mortgage that works for us when using these free brokers but then we found bridie and everything we didn't quite understand as being first time buyers she explained everything so well and have now got us a mortgage and now heading in the right direction to be home owners.

We had such a great experience working with Ary Prasher from haart Hayes. Ary first helped our family secure our very first home a few years ago, and now that our family has grown, he’s been there again to help us move into our second home. Having someone so reliable and consistent across both journeys has meant a lot to us.

Emma Szabo has been absolutely amazing! She’s has been so helpful throughout the process and I can’t recommend her enough! She’s was so responsive with any emails and queries we had (especially as 1st time buyers we had a lot of questions!) and found us the best rate available! Thank you so so much :)

Andrew was extremely helpful and informative, incredibly competent and easy to get along. He's incredibly down to earth, made us feel relaxed and is very knowledgeable about the housing market. We have individually been to brokers before that aren't a patch on Andrew. HIGHLY RECOMMEND to anyone looking for an independent broker.

Had initial chat with mortgage adviser which was helpful, sent through required documents and then tumbleweed. Sent a couple of follow up emails which were all ignored. Just plain rude and have found an alternative broker.

Emma was so helpful when speaking to her about possibly selling and moving. She explained everything really clearly including costs, likelihood of us selling and moving down to smaller things like working out how much we could afford and explaining which fees could be added on to our mortgage. She has been super helpful and has not pushed us in to selling just to get our business.
