Zum Ende unseres Urlaubes haben wir noch einmal eine Whale Shark Tour gemacht. Die Planung mit Kay und die durch Durchführung mit Valentina war wirklich nicht zu toppen.

Es gab vorab alle notwendigen Infos und Kay stand gefühlt immer zur Verfügung! Selbst am Abholmorgen um 6 Uhr gab es noch einmal ein kurzes Update der Abholung! Die war überpünktlich.

Valentina hat uns herzlich in Empfang genommen!
Mit einem kleinen Kaffee im Van ging es nach Cancún. Dazu gab noch einige sehr interessante Infos zu den Walhaien. Vieles haben wir vorher aber schon auf der ausführlichen Homepage gelesen!

Wir haben dann die Walhaie zum Glück direkt gefunden. Das frühe Aufstehen hat sich gelohnt. Diese Tiere zu sehen ist wirklich eine Erfahrung fürs Leben!

Da wurde der nette Badeaufenthalt mit dem Mittag doch schon in den Schatten gestellt!

Am Ende war es eine tolle Erfahrung, bei der man sich wirklich rundum wohl gefühlt hat!

Shark captain and mate were incredible and we were able to see whale sharks and have a blast doing so. Would highly recommend.

This was my first time swimming with whale sharks and such a spiritual experience! We had to have seen near 100 whale sharks in a two hour period plus several manta rays swimming with the sharks and doing flips out of the water. What an amazing day! We were picked up in Playa del Carmen at 5:20 in the morning and driven to Punta Sam where we got on our boat and headed out about 30 minutes past Isla Mujeres to a whale shark feeding frenzy! Since we arrived so early we were one of the first boats out and got to spend some extra time and take some extra swims with the sharks! Tamara was our guide from Kay Tours and provided us with coffee, drinks and snacks on the way up and the way back. She was so friendly and had such an amazing personality you knew it was going to be a great trip the moment you got into the van. Luis was the guide on the boat along with the captain and they too were amazing. The captain kept us in line with the whale sharks and told us when to jump in while Luis guided us once we were in the water and took some great photos of us with the sharks. They even made lunch for us at Isla Mujeres where we ate in the ocean on a floating table! The day could not have gotten any better. A huge thank you and top of the hat to Kay Tours!

A friend and I went on this tour last week. We had a day like no other, I had done it 4 times before during the past years, but this time with Kay Tours was unprecedented!

It was a beautiful day, the sea was flat and calm. And we started really early so it was only a couple boats apart from us when we started the adventure. We found the whales after 30min only.

We found schools of 10-12 at a time. They were sworming like sardines all around us! We possibly saw over 100 over all. Plus several rays and gorgeous jellyfish

The best though, was the crew: a kind and fun group leader, a captain so skilled to place us, EVERY TIME, in perfect position to swim along the whales: our AMAZING guide Luis who literally holds your hand until you are so close to the whales that you can't bear the excitement! We all jumped in 4 times!

You do not have to worry about taking photos either, the crew will take them for you! just enjoy the whales!

It was all so good, the attention to detail, the punctuality, their disposition, knowledge, the food... everything was perfect. There is a surprise at the end of the tour as well!

It was simply amazing.

I just got back from the best guided tour I have ever been on. I went swimming with Whale Sharks, a lifelong dream!
Kay Tours is the most professional tour company I have ever used! I only gave them 5 stars because I couldn’t give them 10!
They picked me up exactly on time, in a luxurious, air conditioned Mercedes van and transported me to the Port of Cancun, ( from Playa del Carmen) where we were quickly and efficiently guided on to a beautiful boat to cruise out to the Whale Sharks. They provided everything we needed, wet suits, life jackets, masks, snorkels and swim fins.
The ride out to the Whale Sharks was smooth as glass and they served us coffee, breakfast, water and snacks in the van and on the boat.
We swam with the Whale Sharks for 3 hours and they took professional photos of the whole experience (included in the price of the tour, unlike other operators that charge you for everything individually).
Afterward we cruised to a magical beach on Isla Mujeres where we swam and relaxed while they prepared a delicious seafood and guacamole lunch.
I particularly appreciate the fact that they are environmentally responsible, using reuseable metal water bottles, proper plates and metal forks. They truly care about preserving the Paradise they are blessed with.
Once we were back in port, we had the opportunity to shower off the salt water and loaded back into the van where we were provided more snacks, water and soft drinks for our ride back home.
I can’t wait to try their tour of Chichén Itzá, one of the most significant Mayan pyramids, the next time I’m back in Mexico.

El tour en sí fascinante nos tocó un día espectacular ya que el mar era un plato, aunque la embarcación estilo interceptora, muy marinera llegamos al sitio de avistamiento del tiburón ballena en tiempo récord siendo una de las primeras embarcaciones en tiempos de tirar al agua a realizar el nado con tiburón ballena, el Capitán Gabriel "El Papo" un fregon, sin invadir el espacio del trayecto de la ballena nos indicó aventarnos al agua con el guía Luis que igual mostró una pericia en anticiparse al nado que ocurre tan rápido, un nado ligero y lo vimos un gigante gentíl y dócil, una experiencia de vida. Nuestro segundo salto nos tocó el tiburón ballena en estado de botella como le dicen los locales, el tiburón estaba estático comiendo y disfrutamos mucho la escena, esto no hubiera sido posible sin la pericia del capitán y guía, gracias a ambos por este magnífico día, gracias Kay Tours, ovasión de aplausos

The tour started already at 5am in the morning at the lobby of our hotel. Kay - the owner of the company - welcomed us warmly and brought us to the meeting point in Playa del Carmen where we met the other couples and our tourguide Claire. During the ride to Chichen Itza they provided coffee, soft drinks, water, sandwiches and fresh fruits for free in the van. In Chichen Itza we were one of the first 100 tourists onsite due to the early arrival which was great for taking pictures and for extended explanasons about the Mayan culture and Chichen Itza itself. After around 2 hours we went on to the first cenote where we could go swimming in the crystal blue water with a temperature of around 24 degrees Celsius. Again we were almost alone there - Claire told us that most of the other companies go first swimming and afterwards to the ruins. We continued with lunch at the town of Valladolid where we could order any softdrink and a main dish which was also included in the package - amazing!!
After some time for shopping there we went on to the last cenote where swimming was possible again. Afterwards we went back to the hotel - again with drinks and snacks provided in the van.
Especially to mention is that they take the toll road which saves you a total of up to 2 hours of driving depending on the traffic.

During the whole day there were pictures taken from our guide that we were sent afterwards per mail.

All in all a fabulous trip that we would recommend to everybody.

We did two private tours with Kay tours and they exceeded our expectations! The first day was swimming with whale sharks, and a visit to isla mujeres for swimming and lunch. The second day was a visit to Tulum ruins and Tankah cenotes and another delicious lunch. From the very beginning the booking process was quick and easy. I was able to chat with Kay and his team online and they responded to emails nearly immediately. Kay customized the tours slightly for us to accommodate food preferences and activities, and the guides were flexible and at our service for whatever we wanted. We never felt rushed and had once in a lifetime experiences. I can’t speak highly enough of our guides Santiago and Juan, as well as the boat captain Huicho, whale shark guide Miguel, and our driver both days Gerardo. They were all so friendly and kind and we truly enjoyed getting to know them and spending time together. Also the workers at Tankah went above and beyond to help us find a lost Apple Watch, and we really appreciated that. So beyond the wonderful people we met, the excursions themselves were amazing. By doing the private tours we were able to swim with the whale sharks as long as we wanted (about 2 hours in total) and our guides found the best spots so we could see the most sharks with the least people around. Isla Mujeres was the beautiful white sand and clear water we had been looking for and not found yet due to the seaweed problem and it was very relaxing to lounge around in the water. The lunches we had both days were at restaurants, and the food was really good. We are foodies and they were perfect for us; also there were so many snacks and drinks available to us throughout the tours so you definitely will not be hungry. Learning all about Tulum and the Mayan culture from Juan was really interesting and we left the ruins feeling enlightened. Tankah has some beautiful cenotes and we were pleasantly surprised how private it felt. Same with Tulum, the tour was planned perfectly to help us avoid crowds and although we are not morning people waking up early was definitely worth it. I’m glad we decided to do private tours but I’m sure the group tours are great because honestly Kay and his team have this down and I don’t think you could go wrong doing any sort of tour through them. We hope to come back soon and take some more tours. Thank you Kay, Santiago, and Juan for making our vacation one we will never forget!

The only thing I will say is if you don't go on this tour you are MISSING OUT on probably one of the best experiences of your LIFE.
The crew were superb,knowledgeable and caring about there job and even stopped the boat on the way back to shore to pick a disgarded balloon that was floating about a mile out from land.

Afgelopen dinsdag een hele dag op uitstap geweest met Kay Tours. Op voorhand hadden we een aangepast programma met hun afgesproken: Chichen Itza, Ek Balam en 2 cenotes bezoeken. Zoals afgesproken werden we stipt om 5u30 afgehaald door de Nederlandstalige begeleiders Tamara en Esmee en de chauffeur Gilberto. We voelden ons meteen heel welkom en op ons gemak bij hun. Het werd meteen duidelijk dat dit een super dag ging worden! In het busje was alles voorzien: airco, ontbijt, snacks, fruit, koffie, frisdrank, sapjes en biertjes. Wat een luxe.

Dankzij de goede planning en vlotte rit kwamen we voor de grote drukte aan in Chichen Itza, zalig om dit wereldwonder te kunnen zien zonder een massa mensen errond. Ter plekke kregen we uitleg van een Nederlandstalige gids Renee die er wonderwel in slaagde om onze 4 kinderen enthousiast mee te nemen in een tocht doorheen de Maya geschiedenis. Was mooi om te zien hoe onze kinderen met 4 rond haar hingen en allerlei vragen afvuurden die ze stuk voor stuk kon beantwoorden.

Na ons bezoek aan Chichen Itza ging onze tocht verder naar Ek Balam. Dit is een kleinere en minder bekende site maar zeker een aanrader om te doen. Het was er heel rustig en we werden bijgestaan door een gepassioneerde gids/archeoloog die zelf nog meegeholpen heeft aan de restauratie. Hoogtepunt (letterlijk) van het bezoek was het beklimmen van de hoogste tempel. Wat een prachtig uitzicht over de jungle.

Daarna was het tijd om af te koelen. Na een heerlijke lunch was het tijd voor een zwempartij in de eerste cenote “Selva Maya” en erna zijn we een kwartiertje verderop nog gaan zwemmen in cenote “Oxman”, beiden hele mooie cenotes. Op onze terugrit nog kort even gestopt en Valladolid en tegen 19u waren we terug aan ons hotel.

De dag is voor ons echt perfect geweest. Onze 3 begeleiders hebben er alles aan gedaan om ons te verwennen en hebben ons flexibel door deze drukke dag geloodsd zonder dat het druk aanvoelde. Dikke pluim voor alledrie. Wat ons betreft absoluut een aanrader.

Okay, so first of all if you're still unsure which company to choose for your tour, stop doubting and go with Kaytours. You won't regret it. We did the whale shark swimming tour and had the most amazing experience ever.

One of my biggest requirements for choosing a tour was that the whale shark swimming happened in an ethical way. With Kaytours you can really tell that they care about the animals and the environment.
We actually did the tour twice because the first time we unfortunately didn't get to swim with any whale sharks. We did get to see manta rays that day, which was also incredible. But today, we went again and we were able to swim with them! It took us not even an hour to find them and there were MANY. At one point in the water I was surrounded by three of them. It was AMAZING. We were the first boat to leave the port and among the first to get to where the whale sharks were.

Our guides both days (Rose and Claire) were lovely. The most friendly and caring guides ever. During the entire tour the crew will provide you with plenty of fruits, snacks and drinks. So you definitely won't get thirsty or hungry. For lunch we had the most incredible ceviche and guacamole ever.
Also, they will take pictures of you and the whale shark and those pictures ARE INCLUDED. Which is just really great because it allows you to completely focus on the whale shark and take it all in. Even before the tour you will find that they respond very quickly and will answer all of your questions.

So the only reason I can think of not to book with Kaytours is if you don't like having a good time.

We had the BEST time on the Chichén Itza Tour led by Julio!! This tour was by far our favorite part of the trip and money well spent! We got an early start to the day to beat the heat - The transportation was comfortable and cool and even had blankets and pillows so we could nap on the way to Chichén Itza! We spent the morning walking around Chichén Itza with Julio teaching us all about the site and Mayan culture. He was very knowledgeable and an excellent photographer! One nice feature of the tour is that you’ll get digital copies of all of the photos. After Chichén Itza we departed for a cenote near Valladolid. Julio kept us well fed with snacks, beers, and cold drinks in the car (his wife even made us some DELICIOUS sandwiches!). We spent about an hour swimming in the cenote and basically had it all to ourselves. It was beautiful and the grounds were very pretty with showers, lockers, and places to change. We ate lunch at a great restaurant on the property and got to sample a lot of different Mexican/Mayan cuisine - it was all so good! In the afternoon we toured and sampled at a Mezcal distillery and walked around the town of Valladolid. Julio took great care of us and was so friendly and so accommodating. We enjoyed our day with him so much!! I wish we had had time to do another tour with KAY Tours because this was such a wonderful experience! BOOK NOW!!! You’ll have such a great time - and ask for Julio!!!!

Fantastic! We chose Kay tours because of the 5 star reviews and the tour lived up to the 5 stars. We went to Tulum and 5 cenotes. It was such an awesome adventure. I had doubts about going at first only because for a family of 5 it was a bit spendy, but let me tell you that it was worth every penny! Our tour guide Claire was so great and full of information and the photos she took for us were just over the top amazing!!!! Just do it! Book the trip and make some memories! My 3 daughters 11,10 and 8 loved every minute. Thank you Kay Tours! Thank you Claire, you were magnifique!

Amazing time and adventure. The owners are extremely helpful and our tour guide, Juan, was the best. We made so many memories with our family. It made our entire trip. I highly recommend Kay Tours and would take another tour without a doubt from them.

We had a great tour with Kay Tours. We booked just a few days before the trip, and they were able to accommodate everything we asked for. I recommend them! The service was A+

I booked a whale shark swim excursion with Kay Tours while in Mexico last summer. Everything was well organized and so much fun! Juan was our guide and he was very friendly and knowledgeable. Other tours were in the same area as us, but we were one of the last to leave! You definitely get your moneys worth and the maximum amount of time in the water with the whale sharks! The other tour companies came and left and Juan asked if we were ready to leave or wanted more time. We all wanted to stay longer so he happily allowed us to stay until almost all the whale sharks had submerged. The other plus is that they take photos of you underwater and give you the photos free of charge! I've never been on an excursion where they didn't charge for the pictures. Their vans are exceptionally clean and air conditioned and stocked with plenty of drinks and snacks. Lunch was included as well and consisted of endless sandwiches, shrimp, tortillas and guacamole. I've been on tours throughout the caribbean and there was only one other tour (in St. Lucia) that even came close to this one. I will definitely be using them in the future. A++++

For our honeymoon we went to playa Del Carmen. A family member had booked with Kay Tours recently and highly recommended them to us. I started to email with Kay tours about a month before our arrival and they were very helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had. We picked a package we liked and gave them the $50 deposit. The day of our excursion we were picked up right on time in the lobby of our hotel. Santiago was our tour guide. The large 10 passenger van was very clean, there was a cooler with beer, soda and water, plus snacks and a complimentary bottle of champagne for us. We got picked up at 6:20 am, yes it was early but it took 1 hour and 40 minutes to get to our first visiting spot so early pick up definitely made sense. It was nice that Santiago had a driver for us so he could talk to us about the plan for our day while in the van. He was full of information and very knowledgeable, spoke great English which was a big plus for us. We went to Coba to visit the mine temple first, where we rode on bikes, then he offered us to stop and eat real authentic tacos from a hut off the street. That was very cool. Then we went to do zip lining, cave jumping, canoeing and ended our day with a very nice Mexican lunch. We were out all day for about 10 hours. We highly recommend Kay tours. It’s worth the price! You have private service the entire time so you go as you want, no rush, great service. Thank you Kay tours, we will be back :)

Wir haben heute die Walhai Tour mit Kay Tours gemacht. Einfaches Fazit: Reibungsloser Ablauf! Freundlich familiäres Umfeld. Verständigung in Deutsch oder Englisch kein Problem,spanisch natürlich auch aber das spricht bisher nur meine Frau ;). Wir haben wirklich immer nach unserem eigenen Walhai bzw. Manta gesucht und konnten das Erlebnis immer alleine erleben (Man springt immer zu zweit mit einem Guide,,mexikanische Vorschrift). Deshalb ist man nur zu dritt mit den Walhaien und Mantas wobei der Guide einem nur zeigt in welche Richtung du schwimmen sollst dann macht er im Hintergrund Fotos. Diese Fotos sind auch bei der Tour includiert! Nach der Tour gab es im Meer bei Isla Mujeres noch ein mexikanisches Essen. Absoulut super. Unser Guide Rose konnte mir ebenfalls noch einen Kontakt zum tauchen geben da die Tauchschule Dressel Divers (Hotel Barcelo Maya Grand Resort) für einen Cenoten Tauchgang 314$ wollte....
Wirklich toll organisiert.

My family and I vacationed to Playa Del Carmen earlier this month and we chose Kay Tours to take us snorkeling with the whale sharks. We did a lot of research beforehand and am so glad we went with them! Every part of their team went out of their way to make us comfortable and have an experience above our expectations! The transportation to the dock was in a very comfortable air conditioned van, the wetsuits, snorkel gear, and boat were all very nice. And the food was delicious! Claire is an incredible guide who was so gentle and kind to all of us. Even letting us use her personal equipment! The boat captain searched hard for our own shark to swim with and positioned us perfectly in front of them at each jump. And the snorkeling guide did everything he possibly could to make the most of our time with the sharks, from taking amazing pictures, to holding our hand and helping us as we swam trying to keep up with them! I would definitely recommend Kay Tours to ANYONE! They are a very professional company who seem to care more about making the experience memorable for you and protecting the whale shark from any stress than being a tourist attraction.
