Ordered some sleepers and sub base to fix up the garden on the bank holiday. Initially delivery was going to be the week following the bank holiday but Kellaway were able to squeeze delivery in for the Saturday morning which was much appreciated. Friendly delivery driver and great products, much cheaper than other places too. Would highly recommend them and will purchase from them again.

Driver punctual, friendly, stacked products neatly, good price, excellent order take and communication. Very professional 👍

The chipping are of a very good quality. Don’t be fooled on price you get a full bag and the delivery driver was so professional and went the extra mile to manoeuvre a big lorry, and operate the crane with ease. As I’m 74 it made my live so easy to spread the Chippings. A big thank you to him and all at Kelloway will highly recommend

Thank you for your response. It is highly telling that my private email to your Operations Director was completely ignored for over 40 hours, yet your organisation managed to formulate a public PR response on here almost instantly of a 1-star review going live. This proves your priority is brand damage control, not customer safety.
To ensure complete transparency for the public, there is absolutely nothing false or misleading about this review, and I hold the entire email paper trail to prove every claim made.
You state that you consider the matter handled properly. However, your organisation failed to offer a single direct apology to my family until I explicitly pointed out in writing that none had been given. A corporate apology issued only under duress is not a genuine commitment to safety.
Furthermore, while you claim to value a 'safe environment,' your official position remains that you refuse to offer any basic remedy or compensation for the severe distress caused to a 15-month-old child and his mother on your premises.
The facts remain entirely accurate and provable: A volatile incident occurred, a up to date crime report was logged (AS-20260505-0492) and your Director confirmed the employee's dismissal in writing. Publicly implying that a customer's factual account of a traumatic safety breach is 'misleading'—while trying to protect your corporate image—is deeply disappointing. My review stands.

ORIGINAL REVIEW:

I am leaving this review to warn other families and tradespeople about a severe failure of customer safety at the Bedminster Branch on Hartcliffe Way on the 4th May. I visited the branch to collect an order of materials that had been agreed prior, accompanied by my wife and our 15-month-old son.

While in the yard, a yard staff member became highly hostile, physically squared up to me, and repeatedly challenged me to a physical fight off the business premises. This unprovoked aggression took place directly in front of my toddler and wife, causing massive distress to my family. Other staff members present failed to intervene or calm this member of staff, and the branch manager deflated all responsibility on-site, failing to take our details or a formal statement. Shockingly, despite this volatile incident taking place, the branch still took my payment at the counter before allowing us to leave.

This dangerous incident was immediately logged with the Avon and Somerset Police under Crime Reference Number: AS-20260505-0492.

Following a formal escalation to Head Office, the Operations & Commercial Director has since confirmed to me in writing that an internal investigation took place and the employee in question has been dismissed from the company.

While I am glad the individual has been removed from a customer-facing environment for the safety of the public, Kellaway Building Supplies has explicitly refused to offer any form of financial compensation or basic remedy for the severe psychological distress caused to my wife and young child on their premises, despite admitting in writing that the event fell far below their duty of care. A highly disappointing corporate response to a traumatic family experience.

Really user friendly web site, crystal clear. Delivery service, nothing short of perfect. Used this firm several times now, a great company to do business with.

Good value products delivered at a reasonable cost. Bulk bags placed conveniently on the side of the driveway by the driver. In contrast to other well known suppliers, DIY customers don't seem to be treated as second class to trade customers.

I’ve been dealing directly with Alex at Kellaway Chippenham over the last few months and honestly can’t fault the service I’ve received. Not only is he extremely efficient, but he consistently goes above and beyond — reviewing pricing, creating multiple quote iterations, and patiently answering every query I’ve had throughout the process.

Ordered 2 pallets of Pavestone Ivory porcelain tiles only to receive 2 different colours. Two different batch numbers. This was spotted when builders started on second pallet. Called Kellaway (Rob - very helpful) and was informed they would have to locate another pallet. This meant the builders were left with nothing to use for two days following a weekend. They therefore had another job to go to and cost me further to rebook them at some delay. Called and spoke to somebody else to ask if, as some small compensation, I could receive the grouting free. Apparently its not their fault, they don't necessarily check batch numbers? And tiles come from different locations? Beggers belief. I did shout at the dog to stop barking and the phone was slammed down on me. I called back only to be told I was rude and again the phone was slammed down on me and he wouldn't give me the Managers name. Now, after calling back I appear to have been blocked. This is what you get after spending a £ thousand pounds with Kellaway. Whatever happened to customer service? Well, the builders did warn me as they've had the same experience in the past. However I wanted to use a local firm. I clearly got that wrong! I have since received a call and have resolved the situation.

I ordered fence materials on the website, last night, for collection at the Bath site. I had an early response from the depot this morning to advise the order was ready for collection. The depot staff were helpful with loading into my van and processing the paperwork.
Now back working on the new fence.

I can only give 5 stars for the assistance I had from the guys at the Bath branch, really helpful and great communications when there was an unplanned delay with delivery. Goods arrived and are great quality. Can't ask for much more.

Orderd 1 ton of sharp sand for wednesday 22/4/26 had to phone later on wednesday to see where my order was only to be told that it won't be delivered on wednesday it will be the 2nd drop on Thursday 23/4/26 nothing turned up by 12.30 pm so another phone call to kellaway was told be their within 2 hours another lie it turned up at 16.30
