I have just returned from Crete and hired a car from Kydon. I would highly recommend them. The booth is in the arrivals hall, the staff were very friendly both on pickup and return, the car pickup and drop off were very quick and the car was a very short walk from the terminal and you return it to the same spot. The price was also good. The car I got was also the one I booked rather than an "or similar".

Used Kydon for car hire during a recent trip to Crete and were very happy overall. The location is excellent — right outside the terminal, which makes pickup and return refreshingly straightforward. The car itself was very new and in great condition. No issues whatsoever on return.

Just all round excellent.
Firstly super responsive to emails, personally responding quickly to any queries.
Secondly - we arrived at midnight so worried about car collection at this time (read negative stories from other larger companies), especially with heavily pregnant wife and two small children, but reassured someone would meet us.
Thirdly- So friendly, office is right outside arrivals, super quick and easy process to sort paperwork and we were in the car in 10-15 mins
Fourth- All costs included, including car seats, no hidden costs, everything inc damage waiver/insurance wise etc just sorted.
Fifth- Newish car, great conditon, we were upgraded which was a nice extra.

100% Worth paying a bit extra for all these reasons, and to be using a local company, who were responsive.

Rental desk located inside Chania airport. Friendly staff. Whatsapp confirmation before we landed. Quick dropoff and check. Johanna was very kind and helpful. Would highly recommend and use Kydon again.

Excellent Service and Kindness from Kydon at Chania Airport

After a very frustrating experience with another car rental company at Chania Airport, we walked into Kydon feeling stressed and disappointed. Nikos Antonia greeted us with patience, understanding, and genuine kindness. He took the time to listen to our situation and made the whole process smooth and easy.

To our surprise, Nikos even upgraded us from the smallest car we had booked to a comfortable mid-size car — at no extra cost. This gesture truly turned our holiday around and made us feel valued as customers.

The car was in excellent condition, the price was fair, and there were no hidden charges or unpleasant surprises. We left Kydon feeling relieved, happy, and very grateful for Nikos’s professionalism and empathy.

Highly recommended! If you are renting a car in Chania, skip the stress and go straight to Kydon.

Haben kurzerhand ein Auto bei Kydon gemietet!

Auto war Sauber, hatte zwar ein paar Kampfspuren aber das ist nicht so wild!
Der Preis naja ist zwar etwas teuer 5 Tage 260€ + 40€ Kasko ( die braucht man aber in Griechland) !
Ansonsten wirklich Top!

Je déconseille fortement l’agence de La Canée. Ce sont des arnaqueurs, tout simplement. Aucune transparence, des promesses non tenues, et une attitude franchement malhonnête. Ils savent très bien comment piéger les gens et vous faire payer plus que prévu, sans jamais assumer leurs erreurs. Service client inexistant une fois que vous avez payé. Une expérience désastreuse du début à la fin. Ne vous laissez pas avoir comme moi, passez votre chemin.

Sehr problemlose Abwicklung. Nach einer Enttäuschung (Surprice) bei einem anderen Vermieter zum Glück auf Kydon gestoßen. Alles hat super geklappt.

Seamless booking, collection of car and return. Great value, very pleasant staff and great little VW. Would highly recommend.

Amazing experience. The car was in excellent condition and very clean. The stuff inside was very friendly also. Full insurance was included with no deposit so the pick up and drop off was very quick.

Service I top, og så gik det hurtigt både at få bilen udleveret og aflevere den igen.
Vi fandt ud af halvvejs igennem vores ferie på Kreta at vi ville aflevere bilen lidt senere end det først aftalte afleveringstidspunkt, da vi skulle flyve sent om aftenen. Vi ringede til Kydon et par dage inden vi skulle hjem og de fik ændret aflerveringstidspunktet uden problemer, vi betalte blot for en ekstra dag da vi aflereverede bilen i lufthavnen.
Alt i alt en god oplevelse.

Dont use Exer car rental

We hebben een auto gehuurd voor 14 dagen. We hebben het ter plekke geregeld op vliegveld chania, borg en credit kaart was niet nodig, het was natuurlijk vroeg in het seizoen maar binnen 10 min. Reden we weg. Ook het retourneren was binnen 5 minuten geregeld zonder gedoe. Top bedrijf.

Since almost 8 years, I'm always renting a car at kydon, sometimes twice a year - maintenance, service, pick up and delivery and the rental costs could not be better - I almost developed a kind of friendship to the people working for kydon.... I really can recommend kydon!!!

As home owners in Chania, we first got in touch with KYDON car rental some 8 years ago and kept renting from them since then. They are very professional and make us feel welcome home every time we we land at Chania airport. We strongly recommend KYDON car rental based at Chania airport.

We wanted to rent a car from a local company to support locals and reserved a car from Kydon's website but once we arrived there, we were told they could not accept my drivers license from northern Cyprus. I understand they have procedures but I can drive with it in many other countries. Unfortunately we did not feel welcomed as well and Kydon receptionists were the first faces we saw when we landed :) luckily Avis/Budget car rental had an office right next to Kydon and we rented a car from them without any challenges and the ladies at the reception were very friendly. Everything went smoothly and we returned the car yesterday. To my fellow northern Cypriots, save yourselves from some drama and directly book from Avis. I started to think global companies deserve their place in this ecosystem :)

Super god oplevelse. Efter at have sloges med easyCar, på vores tur til Kreta, hvor vi i første omgang have lejet en bil, men de ville have flere penge da vi skulle hente bilen. Gik vi ind i lufthavnen og fik den bedste service og bil med fuld forsikring, uden problemer. Da den skulle afleveres var det bare at aflevere nøglen og gå til check-in <3
