Scam Company/Ignorant Employees

This company is a complete scam with ignorant employees. I signed up for a free trial (12.99 one) and cancelled it so see I've been charged for the past two months $49.99. I called Law Depot to dispute this to be met with complete and utter ignorance from the employee saying they will reimburse one month as a "courtesy." A courtesy? Really? They are totally scamming consumers, as the other reviews here will testify to, by charging you days after a free subscription, and not for the subscription you even signed up for. Utterly a disgrace of a company.

EASY TO DO YOURSELF

IT APPEARED TO BE VERY SIMPLE, ALTHOUGH i DONT HAVE A BIG ESTATE OR STOCK BONDS ETC.

Deceptive charging practices

Deceptive charging practices. The wording they use for the free trial transitioning into the subscription sounds entirely opt-in, but it isn't, it's automatic unless you cancel. They tried to charge me for a subscription I never autherized.

Buyer beware!! Predatory Subscription Practices!

Buyer beware!

Don't forget to cancel your subscription and keep proof!

They do not send out receipts each time they charge you for their subscription, this makes it easy to forget about. Seems predatory and should be illegal.

I'm not interested in your standard response about transparency nor am i interested in having you look into my account. I know that technically what you do is legal but it is not right.

@ Law Depot Employees, I understand that everyone needs to make a living to support themselves and the people that they love but please make every effort you can to find a legitimate and ethical employer. I am sure that you do not enjoy hearing these kinds of complaints from people and that you are coached on how to respond to them when people call in frustrated. Normal ethical companies do not have to coach their employees to deal with these things.

UNWANTED SUBSCRIPTION

I wanted one document and inadvertently signed up for a subscription at $49.00 per month. This was put on my credit card and I finally cancelled it 8 months later. I called to complain and the rep explained that I would have had to make numerous decisions to add a subscription. I wanted one document so I would not have done that. No help with any refund. BE CAREFUL!

Beware of what you sign up for.

I needed 1 form and paid for a plan for $49.99. After noticing they billed me for multiple months, I called in and they said no, you selected a 7 day free trial so after that it auto renews at $49.99/month. We have a second plan that does not come with a free trial that is $49.99 for just 1 month. I explained that I did not intend to sign up for reoccurring months. I thought it was one month of service as I downloaded one form and have not logged in since. You can review my account and verify this is accurate. I have not been the account since August. The customer service rep response was "We don't care if you used it or not, you signed up for it. We have been doing this since 2002 and have never refunded anyone more than one month of credit."
It was clear to me at that point this was the game on the table for them and they knew they were being deceptive. I informed her that was very disappointing and not a professional business practice or customer service response.

After hanging up, I then looked up the company and tons of complaints against them on various sites and with the BBB for the exact issue. Lesson learned as I should have done my research on the company prior to paying them.
