I got introduced to Andreas through the cookbook. It was an excellent summed up version of what data engineering is which was short and easy to understand. I tried my chances and messaged him on LinkedIn requesting for a call to learn from his experience. He was responsive and ready to teach from his experience in the field. In next 3 months I joined the data engineering academy with the pursuit of learning pipeline development in AWS cloud and exploring the monitoring piece in data pipelines. Through the course of next couple of months, Andreas helped me think out of the box and problem solve simple and complex solutions with his extensive experience in the field of data engineering. The discussions and peer and support channels created by Andreas were phenomenal in reaching out to a larger audience and learn from their projects through knowledge sharing and extending a hand at solving someone else's problem. This channel also gave me an open access to understand what kind of data engineering problems are being solved around the globe, technologies different companies prefer, and trends in data across borders. This has truly broadened my perspective in the domain and I'm ever grateful to Andreas.
Andreas has been a great teacher and an innovative leader in the space of data. His content is to the point and just what is needed to ace in the field. He is up to date with the latest technology and incorporates in his curriculum at the earliest. He is pretty hands on and that is what makes him stand out in the crowd. On a personal note, he's always been available, supportive , and enthusiastic to learn and help. I am more than glad to be connected and mentored by him. He is truly a wonder to work with.

If you are at a beginner/intermediate level and looking for a place to find what you need to know to succeed in Data Engineering field, this is the place.
The topics covered are aligned with industry standards and are relevant to your daily job. The hands-on projects show you how to put everything together to create your pipelines.
No, you will not find everything explained at the deepest level possible, but the content will help you to start and prepare you to go further by your own.
Andrea's speaks naturally on the videos without any pre-prepared script (I think) which makes them way easier to digest and follow up, generally on MOOCs the teacher just reads things, or even you only have slide decks with voices in the background and is terrifically boring.
If you are an experienced Data Engineer, Academy is a good place to keep up with new technologies and frameworks, but you may not find many insights from the technologies you already know.

As a data strategist I have to keep up with the different possible options a data engineer has when building the solutions I can dream up. Learn Data Engineering allows me to stay on top of my game by offering short, but clear and complete courses with hands on exercises.

Lots of great content that covers relevant tools and concepts that are important to know as a data engineer. Hands-on projects also help to drive home the understanding. I couldn't recommend this learndataengineering.com enough.

The choice of courses and topics covered are overall fine and pertitnent to my career. Perhaps need to go deep in some topics students are left sometimes with questions without answers.

I made a Transition from database developer to data engineer with the help of Andreas and his academy. Andreas knows the current situation and trends in data engineering and he produces relevant and practical courses. Just completed Data Engineering with Snowflake course from the Academy. I had absolutely no idea about Snowflake, but the way the course was paced and structured, by the time i completed it, i now feel well equipped. Thank you Academy for such good content.

Data engineering is well detailed compared to all the videos I have seen in the past.

What is a cookbook? A cookbook is a book of detailed practical instructions. I came across Andreas's content through his data engineering cookbook on git. Then, it was a series of youtube videos on the topic. Then, Andreas started his Learn Data Engineering, a data engineering academy. The format has evolved through the time, but the idea remained the same - to provide learners with step-by-step practical instructions on how to complete a particular task such as to set up a data pipeline on AWS / Azure; to design and deploy a transactional database in MongoDB; etc. So, the biggest value of the Academy for me is in its practicality.

Another thing I appreciate in Andreas's Academy is that he doesn't bluntly follow the next 'big' and 'trendy' thing on the market and push it to us, rather teaching the basics of de / proven technologies that has been on the market for some time.

One of the challenges of online courses is the content maintenance as some better ways to approach a task appear/old approaches re-appear. I think this strive for the quality practical content that remain current is what keeps me to remain the Academy subscriber for the last couple of years.
