Have stayed at Dakota Leeds and Manchester found both excellent, friendly helpful staff on both occasions
Very clean rooms, beautifully decorated, a touch of class

Do not stay here. Scruffy staff have stollen my watch from the hotel room. Really disgraceful and unhelpful. They’re trying to deny it and have been no help at all. Started a phone call with the police by saying ‘our staff haven’t stollen anything’ before letting him even talk. Shambles of a hotel. I suggest to stay away. They also take money out of your account ‘by accident’ for another rooms extra charges. Not offered any resolution to my watch or been proactive about the situation. Was informed they would be back in touch with me after a laundry investigation and heard nothing. Absolutely useless

From the moment we pulled up, we knew we where in for something special. Valet parking. Bags carried to the room. The room was very classy and the bathroom and shower to die for. Booked to eat in the restaurant in the evening. A few drinks in the bar first, then Outstanding food and service. The steak was like cutting butter and my partner had deer which was incredible.
It’s not cheap but worth every penny spent.

I stayed at this hotel in the beginning of January. My lovely stay at this hotel was completely ruined by dishonest staff members. I left my £1000 watch in the room after checking out in the morning, by the evening of the day I left I had realised I had left it and contacted the hotel, and travelled back in the evening to collect this to be told they will need to check in the morning as the lockers can’t be opened. I was advised by the check in staff that the manager is ‘not familiar’ with the house keeping team. Which is concerning in its self.

Since then I had been dealing with the assistant operations manager, who had ‘investigated’ the matter but has provided no evidence of the completed investigation. Apparently due to GDPR, however I requested no personal information of anyone. I have contacted the police and got a crime reference number, after making them aware of this they advised “I regret that you feel resorted to this stage” even though no resolution or effort has been made by the hotel it’s self. There was apparently a laundry investigation started with the laundry company however I have heard nothing of this since.

I have allowed a few weeks for the Hotel to contact me further about this, and I have received nothing. I have essentially been shrugged off and not taken seriously with no resolution or follow up.

Further to this, after my stay I had £160 taken out of my bank account for no reason. Contacted the hotel regarding this, and was this was done in error and my card was charged ‘accidentally’ for someone else’s room extras / charges.

Overall wouldn’t recommend, poor service.

Dakota Edinburgh

Good points: Decor, atmosphere, food and drink

Bad points:
- TV didn’t work upon arrival, had to go to the reception and ask someone to come out and have a look at it, once returned to the room TV worked for 2 hours and then the sound stopped working.

- The room was for 2 guests, however only 1 full sized towel was supplied in the room.

- Although food and drinks were great, the service was exceptionally slow, it was quite an effort to call someone over to your table, once we had dinner we went to the bar area, and we have waited 40 minutes for our first drink, initially waiting 20 minutes and ended up going up to the bar and ordering ourselves. The manager did apologise about the first 2 drinks and advised that we don’t have to pay for them, but then it happened again on the 2nd round. Only one of the waiters who had an accent was absolutely fantastic and done his absolute best to serve us. The rest of the waiters simply walked past us.

- Windows we’re extremely dirty when we pulled the blinds up, and lots of dust behind the TV when I went to check everything is connected properly.

Overall this place has a massive potential, but no where near 5 starts at the moment.

Festive Afternoon Tea - Truly a disaster!
Tea unbelievably strong, far too many leaves, not enough water (requested hot water, never arrived) Sandwiches dry and extremely cold. Macarons “stuck” to wooden server, leaving half of the item to the board. Cake stale. Fruit scones black and burnt. After complaining, they were exchanged for an equally dry offering. The mulled wine and mince pies…. never arrived. They deducted a paltry 20% from the bill, however did not even return with the change, despite our request (so we were only actually refunded £5!)
This was without a doubt, the worst Afternoon Tea I have ever experienced. Do not waste your time or money

Had drinks in Salon Prive at Dakota hotel. Very private and chilled with a relaxed atmosphere. Ellie served my group, she was attentive and professional. Would recommend.

Dakota Edinburgh - possibly the best hotel I've stayed at in recent years. My stay was on business with a large group of customers. All of the staff attentive, polite and very helpful. The stay and the hospitality event went smooth and was enjoyed by all.

With dinner we had a great bottle of red wine, unfortunately, the last of the bottle had a lot of sediment in it which I was the lucky recipient of, so my last mouthful of wine tasted more like a mouth full of sand. We did mention it to the waitress at the time (as we were paying the bill) and showed her the remains on the side of the glass, she said it was cork, and she would let her manager know. We didn’t make a fuss, paid up in full, and left. Subsequently, I emailed Dakota Leeds (3 weeks ago) and did not get a response. I'm disappointed with the lack of customer service and this is why I have given them 2 stars, the food was great, but the wine left a bad taste in my mouth.

Amazing experience all round at Dakota Leeds. Fantastic, spacious room, beautiful food and first class service. Definitely looking forward to returning,

Very excited to return to the Dakota Grill Manchester and we were not disappointed.
The food was excellent enhanced by the flawless service from Zack, who is charming and funny. Highly recommend this venue for a great night out.

I love going to Dakota for a drink or 2 but today I had the best experience ever. A lovely lady called Victoria who works in Dakota Leeds gave me the best service ever, she made me feel at home! Honestly, her colleagues must love her, she’s amazing! I will definitely attend Dakota again and I look forward to meeting Victoria :)

Stayed, ate and had clients stay in Eurocentral hotel. The hotel is really lovely, it’s dark but it’s decor is of very good taste. For me that’s where it stops. No matter how many chances I give this hotel ( as it’s the nicest by looks and style in area), I’m continually disappointed with the staff. They are very dour, and although professional they are so stiff and pretentious it’s actually just rude. It seems to be the policy to not smile and act so corporate that you could be convinced your in a funeral parlour. Try reading the managers comments when someone doesn’t write a good review on other reviews sites, it will explain exactly what I’m talking about.

Decor and style is not enough, people remember how the staff makes them feel, and that’s what makes people love or not love hotels.
I’ve gave it one chance to many, and the managers comments prove where the issues come from.

Myself and my partner had a weekend stay at The Dakota and upgraded to Balcony Room 907.
All the staff we encountered were great and made us feel very welcome.
All the decor of the hotel and our room were excellent.
This is a high end hotel charging accordingly and unfortunately a few things let them down.
Our room had quite a lot of dust in areas which had been overlooked, such as bedside tables and bases of lamps.
The amenity basket had an empty packet for the slippers which had not been replenished. Reception replaced them swiftly when we reported this, but a shame that this was not part of the room preparation.
We didn’t use the toiletries as they appeared to have been used and filled up.
The shower tray leaked onto the bathroom floor saturating the bath mat... we knew there was a turn down service and were surprised to return that evening to find the sodden bath mat had been folded and left in the shower.... very strange that this wasn’t replaced with a dry mat.
Another let down was the cleanliness of the ground floor gents toilet, which on both visits, needed a good clean.
Before writing this review we contacted the hotel to provide feedback and were promised a prompt response. After a couple of weeks we chased the hotel for a reply. We finally received a response from The Front of House Manager apologising for not contacting us sooner due to an admin error. He offered us a preferential rate on a future visit and we agreed to visit again and gave him suggested dates. As he was off when we emailed he said he would reply no later than the following Monday. Over 1 week on from the Monday, we have received no reply.
The points we had raised were overall minor and we provided feedback to aid the hotel for the comfort of future guests.
I would prefer to only write positive things about what on the surface is a very good hotel, however, we now feel very let down in the way we have not been dealt with by management and can only question the sincerity of the responses we have received.
