Conor OKane Clinical Scientist at the Basingstoke Branch is so professional efficient and has the most pleasant and kind manner,he explains everything fully and makes me feel very relaxed and knowledgeable about my new hearing aids ,I always look forward to seeing him for my appointments.

I've been (a) patient with Leightons in Basingstoke for several years now. Some of the issues appear to be due to very long term under-staffing issues, such as Contact lens appointments having long delays due to "the" contact lens staff member being "shared" alternate weeks with Andover branch.

A few months ago, Basingstoke branch arranged an appointment for me at the hospital with two tearings which they thought they had found in one of my eyes. Turned out is was a mis-diagnosis. What the hospital DID find, within seconds however, was that I had cataracts - A common and very serious issue which Leightons whole amusement arcade of machines had completely failed to spot or report to me.

On 9th October, I went for a contact lense appointment as my current prescription isnt offering me as good corrected vision as it did initially. I was told that a new lens could take a couple of weeks to arrive and that as my current lens was showing signs of wear, they would order me a replacement of the current lens to "see me through" until the new prescription lens arrives.

Good intentions - but that was 6 and a half weeks ago. I've tried visiting the Leightons store in Basingstoke a couple of times during my lunch breaks and the security window shutters have been half down and a hand written sheet of paper has had "closed for lunch due to staff shortages"

I moved over to Leightons after receiving poor service and sharp practices from both "Vision Excuse" and "Wrecked-savers" branches in the Town Centre (Whatever you ask for, they try and up-sell you something else as well) and now am thoroughly disappointed with Leightons too. If Leightons, as a company, are having long term issues with staff on-boarding, and staff retention, perhaps underpaying them is rather .... short-sighted

I would recommend my local Leightons. I have always had a good experience when I go to the shop. There is a feeling of calm and comfortable seating to sit and wait if you are early. Excellent information given by all the clinicians during testing. Very attentive staff to help you with choosing your frames and excellent care with fitting and advising about frames. The wonderful replacement of lenses into the frame you love. You don’t have to buy new frames every time you attend.

A great opticians who we have used for years. They are always knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. There is a wide range of glasses choices and Leighton's tailor them to your needs.

hearing aid. He was qas thorough from doing my hearing twst to fitting my new hearing aids.

I would definately recommed Leightons for Hearing Aids and Opiticans.

We have over the last 35 years been regular visitors to Leightons for eye care. Initially because of the patience and service provided for our 3 children who all have worn glasses at various ages.

More recently for our eye care we have been tempted away by the pricing of the large High Street businesses with special deals.

When I suspected I needed help with my hearing I visited these companies but was not impressed. I needed to have a clear understanding of the nature of my hearing problems and a solution that worked fully for me. It seemed to me that if I required more than hearing aids to correct age related hearing loss they were not interested.

Returning to Leightons earlier this year we were pleased that they were still caring and professional. Customer service is clearly very important to them.

Their Audiologist Caitlin was able to provide up to date and thorough testing and offer solutions for my individual hearing issues.

She explained the options and allowed time for me to consider what was best for my needs and budget.

That was 6 months ago and I benefit everyday from the help, advice and hearing aids supplied by her and the support provided by the wrap around care package from Leightons.

We have also signed up for Leightons Care Plan with the benefits this provides for the ongoing use of the hearing aids and for eye tests and new glasses. Some things are too important to base on price only. With Leightons you get quality and value.

I am so grateful for the help provided and pleased to be able to support an independent business who give first class service.

We have just purchase a fabulous pair of Maori Jim sunglasses from Leighton in Basingstoke. What a lovely experience it has been.We ordered them from Steve who is incredible knowledgeable and made the whole experience such a pleasure!

We have been using the Basingstoke branch for over 10 years.
As usual, all the staff were very helpful and brilliant with my son, who has special needs.
In particular, Steve, the manager, is always patient and helpful.

I had my appointment today and saw Conor o'Kane, so professional and very personable, he explained everything to me step by step, which i found very helpful, and also asked if I had any questions, which I did, he answered them fully without rushing, I totally understood everything (he explained well) I found this very refreshing and unusual in this day and age when people don't seem to bother as much as they used to. Thank you again Mr O'Kane. (I'm a poet, and I don't know it!)

Conor was helpful and patient. He cleared my problematic ear quickly to enable me to proceed with prescription eardrops from my GP. Previously the drops would not penetrate my ear canal due to the blockage.

Always professional. Superb selection of frames. Would recommend Leighton to anyone.
