Bridges, open margins and poorly fitted crowns.
I first started a treatment plan in June 2025 which started off with the procedure for three dental implants and then I visited again in October 2025 to get the implant crowns and 19 crowns the shade and style where chosen and the material I wanted which was zirconium.
There were numerous messages during my stay in October as the dentists advised that all crowns were to be done in bridges. I did initially accept but then asked if all could be done as individuals which was declined and they could only let me have the top ones in singles apart from two which where to cover a gap in the centre teeth however this was also not necessary. Therefore I was left with 4 bridges on the lower teeth which they call “doubles”
I was initially happy with my crowns however just days later when I came back to UK all implants crowns failed therefore become wobbly. This was reported right away and the response was that this was normal and crowns do have some “bounce” however this was not the case and the crowns had all failed as they had not been fitted properly. I was also told this my fault and I should wear my mouth guard of which I do and have worn one for some years.
Just weeks later when the gums had settled there was food and liquids getting under the bridges of which the liquid concern was reported to the dentist just days after completion of crowns however I was told this was normal and I should use an electric dental flower and use inter flossers.
I was not satisfied with the overall zirconium crowns as they did not fit correct and there was an issue with over 50% of the works.
I attended an open day in Leeds when Likya Dent visited the UK for a promotion weekend therefore I attended to discuss a new treatment plan was agreed and my visit would be in June 2026.
The Turkish dentists now visit the UK as they are supported by there government with all expenses.
On the day of my visit in June 2026 I visited and underwent treatment and agreed on the zirconium crowns and chose the same colour. I was happy the shape and colour of all crowns fitted in October 2025.
On the next appointment the crowns were ready for a trail fitting but there was a different colour to the crown I had previously therefore this was raised with the dentist and it was confirmed they was the same colour and material this message was done via WhatsApp with the receptionist Shannon.
On the final day of my holiday and many messages around color and material used just 6 hours before my airport transfer I was told they had used E-max crowns on my front teeth and the colour were still the wrong colour therefore this was a further delay and was 3 hours before my transfer at this point it was to late for any amendments to be made to the teeth despite issue been raised with the shape all what changed was the colour.
At no point was I consulted by the dentist to use E-max crowns - I am totally dissatisfied as I have bruxism therefore this material is not recommended for person with a heavy bite and for a person who grinds there teeth. I assume this is general knowledge for any dentist.
On my arrival back to the UK I had a closer looks at my new crowns and the fitting as I could feel something catching the tongue and I could see that the crowns does not cover the the tooth at both the back at the front of the tooth. I sent a message to the dentist along with a photos to be told this was normal and the gum will heal. This is not normal as a dental crown should cover the full tooth and fit snug to the gum to reduce chances of gum disease and decay.
Just days later less than a week after the new crowns one of them started to click therefore an indication this is loose.
I will now seek advise from a UK dentist and this will cost my in access if £1500 for one tooth as they had upgraded the dental crowns from zirconium to E-max with no consultation and no time to change these just 3 hours before my airport transfer.
Private dentist UK - I am now paying higher cost to see a dental crown specialist and to have changed to reduce the chances of gum disease as this is my dentists main concerns due to poorly fitted crowns. The issue with 4 crowns are open margins as the crown does not meet the gum.
I have also logged a complaint via email but has no response despite sending two emails.
