Very clear and professional communication, smooth organization of a helicopter flight experience

My sister and I had an amazing time on the tour to Santiago de Compostela. Carlos, our tour guide, was brilliant! The tour was exciting, informative, and fun! Certainly worth five stars! Thank you, Carlos!

Rute, our guide and Idalino, our bus driver were excellent. This is an absolute must if ever in Porto. The scenery was beyond amazing! I would rank it with the Grand Canyon for sure. The meal was exceptional as well as the beautiful vineyards. What a way to see the countryside.

PÉSIMA Y ENGAÑOSA EXPERIENCIA. Contratamos esta excursión con muchas expectativas por todo lo que promete la descripción, pero la realidad estuvo muy lejos de lo anunciado y la experiencia resultó profundamente decepcionante.

Desde el inicio todo fue mal. Tuvimos que esperar más de 15 minutos a que llegara el conductor, algo que cobra aún más importancia cuando la cita era antes de las 8 de la mañana, con bajas temperaturas, mal tiempo y amenaza de lluvia. Empezar así ya marcó un tono poco profesional.

Habíamos reservado un tour en español y nos encontramos con un guía, Jonathan, que no podía ofrecer el servicio en ese idioma. No es una crítica al portuñol en sí, sino a la diferencia entre lo contratado y lo recibido. El propio guía reconoció que el guía en español no estaba disponible ese día. Ante una situación así, consideramos que lo mínimo hubiera sido avisar previamente para que cada usuario pudiera decidir si quería mantener la actividad o no. Además, se incorporaron cuatro personas de habla inglesa en nuestro grupo, algo que nos sorprendió al ver que había otro autobús completo en inglés. La sensación fue la de un encaje improvisado para completar plazas en un vehículo mayor, lo que afectó directamente a la fluidez, el ritmo y la calidad de las explicaciones al tener que alternar constantemente entre idiomas.

El mayor problema fue la falta absoluta de contenido. Las explicaciones eran superficiales, desordenadas y sin profundidad histórica ni cultural. Más allá de comentarios aislados y bromas constantes, no hubo una narración estructurada ni enriquecedora. Sin embargo, parecía que llevábamos contratado a un humorista con constantes chistes, como sobre la conducción temeraria del conductor que, lejos de ser solo una broma, lo peor fue que era bastante real durante el trayecto, generando incomodidad añadida .

Otro punto muy negativo fue comprobar que varias de las entradas “incluidas” eran gratuitas o de coste mínimo. En los monumentos, el guía nos dejaba en la puerta y se quedaba fuera sin explicar absolutamente nada. Solo recibíamos frases como “tenéis diez minutos para fotos” o “tiempo libre”. No hubo visita guiada real ni dentro de la catedral, ni en iglesias, ni en el castillo de Guimarães, y mucho menos un recorrido histórico guiado por las calles de Braga o Guimarães. Fue, en la práctica, un traslado entre puntos con pausas libres, pero no una experiencia cultural guiada como se vende.

La desorganización fue evidente incluso dentro del autobús. Al entender portugués, nos resultó especialmente incómodo escuchar conversaciones en las que el propio conductor indicaba al guía por dónde debía llevar el recorrido, algo que transmite poca preparación y profesionalidad. Para rematar, al final del trayecto se puso a disposición de los usuarios una caja de propinas, lo que nos dejó aún más desconcertados teniendo en cuenta la baja calidad del servicio recibido.

En resumen, sentimos que fueron 50 € perdidos por persona y un día desaprovechado del viaje. Una actividad que promete una experiencia guiada completa y enriquecedora debería cuidar mucho más la organización, el idioma ofrecido, la calidad real de las explicaciones y el respeto por lo que se anuncia al cliente.

Our tour was Small group from Porto to Braga and Guimaraes. The route itself is good. However, it was reduced to less than 8 hours instead of promised 9 .
we did not have enough time to walk and see on our own.
I believe, meeting points must be announced ahead of time and city maps need to be provided.
It is much better to take trains to these cities and Bolt or Uber within

Falta de profissionalismo e segurança
Em março de 2024, durante a feira de turismo em Berlim, entrei em contacto com a Living Tours para avaliar uma possível parceria. Enviei email conforme combinado, mas nunca obtive resposta. Dois meses depois voltei a insistir e a única explicação foi que “não tinham tempo para responder”. A partir daí, deixei de acreditar que algo fosse realmente avançar.

Passado um ano e meio de completo silêncio, no dia 17 de setembro de 2025, recebo inesperadamente um email da responsável com o título “Proposta comercial e parceria”. No entanto, o anexo não era uma proposta: tratava-se de um vírus massivo, capaz de danificar computador e telemóvel.

Ao contactar telefonicamente a empresa, a reação foi totalmente desvalorizadora: limitaram-se a dizer que era para ignorar, sem qualquer pedido de desculpas ou preocupação em relação ao sucedido.

Conclusão: após um ano e meio de espera por seriedade e profissionalismo, o que recebo é um ficheiro malicioso e uma resposta indiferente. Ainda bem que esta parceria nunca avançou.

Fantastic Douro Valley Wine tasting tour - definitely recommend it.
Our party was very sociable and was divided into Engish speaking and Spanish speaking. I was travelling alone and was the only English person on the tour. The guide Rita was First Class and went the extra mile to ensure each individual had her attention she spoke to everyone individually in either Spanish or English. Very knowledgeable , warm and friendly.
The Douro valley is stunning, the wine and food very good.

- Buchung: im Internet auf Tiqets.com steht ein anderer Zeitablauf als tatsächlich durchgeführt. Andere Anbieter wie z.B. Get your guide informieren auf der Platform für genau diesen Ausflug mit dem richtigen Zeitplan. Aus geplanten 11 Stunden Dauer wurden 13 Stunden (verursacht u.a. durch verspätete Abfahrt).
- Essen auf dem Schiff: mangelhaftes Frühstück bestand aus 1 Croissant, 1 Brötchen, 1 kleine Butter, 1 kleine Marmelade und schlechtem Kaffee. Mittagessen (Suppe, Kartoffeln, Reis, Schweine Fleisch, Gemüse) schmeckte sehr fad. Negativ ist anzumerken, dass außergewöhnlich große Mengen an nicht gegessenen Speisen weggeworfen wurden (food wasting).
- Aufgrund der langen Flußfahrt war der Besuch auf dem wunderschönen Weingut mit tollen Tapas und 1 leckeren Portwein viel zu kurz.
- Hinweis: Erläuterungen während der Flussfahrt erfolgte nicht auf Deutsch, sondern in anderen Sprachen z.B. auch (portugiesisches) Englisch. Es wurde sehr schnell gesprochen und war schlecht zu verstehen über das Mikrofon/ Lautsprecher.

We highly recommend the day-long tour of the scenic Douro Valley - our tour guide, Andre, and our bus driver, Bruno, were excellent. We felt safe, relaxed, comfortable the whole time. Wine tasting and lunch were excellent. The boat ride was a highlight as well.

we arrived at 23:30 at Funchal airport . So we have taken airport transfer to our Airbnb .The customer service was excellent, they answered all questions by mail as well as in phone also . When we reached airport , driver was already there . It was nice car, nice driving . So overall excellent experience.

We did a walking tour of old Porto with Balthazar. His English is perfect and he took us to interesting places and provided details to make the tour memorable.

Took a trip up the Douro from Porto to Pinhao- seating on deck inadequate for the number on board. Food very good breakfast at 9 - lunch started at 11.45??!! Then no food at all til we returned back to Porto at 8.30pm and rushed to a supermarket. The wine tasting consisted of an arduous 30 minute drive up to a vineyard for half hour talk about their vines with literally 2 slurps of the cheap rose port and a 30 minute hair raising trip back to pinhao for a 150k journey back to Porto. 13 hours of my life I’ll never get back! To be fair the first 6 hours were fine - take the trip to Regua - it’s a much better option

We took a day trip in Porto. Our guide and bus driver Daniela and Costa were excellent. Really enjoyed our tour.

We took a tour of the Douro Valley with Paolo M. I cannot recommend this tour enough! The day started with Paolo picking us up in front of our hotel at 9, then we toured a winery, had a private lunch, took a boat tour of the valley, and toured another winery.

Paolo was so knowledgeable about the area. We took little stops so we could take pictures, get cappuccinos, etc. He was so kind, funny, fun, and hospitable. Paolo made the day absolutely incredible. He added all these little touches that made the tour personal and amazing. I cannot write enough words to say how wonderful this tour was because of Paolo M. If you get the chance to tour with him, I highly recommend taking the opportunity! You will not regret it.
