We evaluated Lokalise for a large-scale translation project, and although we ultimately went in a different direction for this project, I have to commend their team on the experience. The support was fast, flexible, and genuinely hands-on. Our account manager took the time to understand our specific use case and went above and beyond to provide tailored resources and connect us with the right people. Communication was impeccable throughout the entire process. If you're looking for a translation management platform backed by a team that truly cares about finding the right fit for your needs, Lokalise is well worth considering.
Harassing People In Mails
They sent me an email saying that I was being lazy and relaxing on the beach. I though it was one of my freelancing jobs but when I opened the email, i saw that it was one of these disrespectful sites I came here for a review. If you cant respect your early customers you wont ro your own. They see you like money, they dont even care about making an API that is understandable. You cant just delete your account too.
Bait and switch
Fell for the old/new pricing bait and switch.
We signed with them 3 months ago, to then be told that unfortunately we are suddenly on a "old" pricing plan which unsuprisingly doesnt have the features/functionality that we need, and this would be another $8K annually

I've been using Lokalise for about 5 years as a localization manager, and everything seems good to me. I might not use all of its features in my work, but here are the key upsides I'd like to share:
The interface is user-friendly. It's quite easy to find anything I need, as well as to handle all 40 languages on the platform, they are well shown on a single page.
The support team is great. They are always ready to help, respond quickly. I've never had any issues when interacting with the support team of lokalise.
It's very convenient to use the lokalise grammar checker which really helps not to miss mistakes or any other moments. As well as the issue notifier in general.
Lokalise is the perfect fit for our organization
It's intuitive and easy to use which makes onboarding our external translators and internal team members super efficient. Several integrations and automations are available. LokaliseAI is easy to implement and integrate into our workflows. Customer Support is fast, reliable and knowledgeable.
Comprehensive Localization Platform with Exceptional Support and Features
What makes Lokalise stand out is their commitment to continuous improvement and user success. Their customer support team consistently goes above and beyond, responding quickly and thoroughly to any questions or concerns. The platform excels in providing powerful automation tools that have transformed our localization workflow. Particularly impressive is their API integration capability and the collaborative features that enable seamless communication between developers, translators, and project managers. The translation memory system has notably improved our consistency across projects, while the QA checks help maintain high quality standards. While their recent UI update for untranslated strings could use improvement, the company actively listens to user feedback and regularly implements user-suggested features.

An invaluable tool in FE internationalisation
As a developer, working with internationalization can often be a tedious task, but Lokalise transforms it into an enjoyable experience. It not only simplifies the process but also ensures that end-users find the UI intuitive and straightforward when managing their translations.
I interact with Lokalise daily, serving both as a developer and as support for our Marketing department. We leverage Lokalise for internationalization across all our frontend solutions, including Next.js, React.js, and React Native, utilizing it in three distinct ways:
Next.js Integration:
Our Next.js website seamlessly integrates with Lokalise through a webhook I established for each domain. This setup ensures that any changes made by our franchise users are reflected on the website within approximately 10 seconds. The webhook integration with the Next.js API was flawless and remarkably straightforward. Additionally, the use of the useTranslation() hook allows effortless implementation of translations in code on a daily basis.
React.js Setup:
In our React.js applications, we primarily use Lokalise for storing all text content, currently in English. We anticipate undertaking a comprehensive localization of this application in the future, and I am confident Lokalise will facilitate this process smoothly. Currently, we lack server-side API routes to trigger webhooks and update stored translations on the client side. I am eager to explore solutions to this challenge beyond simply rebuilding and redeploying the project.
React Native Usage:
For our React Native application, we employ App Center to deliver small in-app updates to users whenever a translation changes. This approach ensures that the latest translations are promptly available to our users.
Overall, Lokalise significantly enhances our workflow, making internationalization not only manageable but also efficient and precise. I highly recommend it for any team seeking to streamline their translation processes.
For our franchise solution, we require different variants for texts, such as English, to cater to various needs. While we leverage our headless CMS solution for this effectively on the web, it is less intuitive within our app. In the app, we are compelled to create multiple sub-versions of each locale in Lokalise, leading to a potentially cluttered multilingual view.
Additionally, some franchise users experience difficulty in understanding the use of {{brackets}} for dynamic variables within the text. This misunderstanding occasionally results in UI bugs that go unnoticed for a time. It might be beneficial to explore more user-friendly methods for handling dynamic variables to enhance usability and prevent errors.
Localise is very good for multilanguge products
We're a long-time Localise users and we love it!

It's easy to use, and their support team is very helpful!
Try another provider or build in house
- they lost some data and ask me to recreate this on my own :D
- account managers don't reply to emails, they push everything to support which isn't very helpful
- we were not able to use service as intended for multiple weeks, had to build some workarounds on our side

Also mind they have pretty much no reimbursement policy no matter if you can't use their service anymore, it goes to the absurd extend that annual plans with 11+ months remaining can't be cancelled.
Don't fall for it, there are tons of more reputable competitor SaaS.
