Horrendous!! Avoid at all costs!!
When my items eventually arrived they were back in the bags almost immediately. The quality is poor. I tried to begin a return to which I was offered 10% compensation to keep the items. I persevered and finally was given the address to return- to CHINA!!! Had to pay excessive shipping costs but was determined to get a refund! 4 months later my items get returned to my home! Total sham and feel ashamed to have given these people my hard earned money!

I’m taking time out of my busy day to write this review because I don’t want others to fall into the same trap I did. I ordered a coat from Essencelondon for £59. It took two weeks to arrive, but the delay wasn’t the issue. What I received was far from what was advertised—a poor-quality jacket (not the waterproof coat shown in the pictures), with no labels, stains, and loose threads. Yet, that wasn’t my problem.

I always keep my expectations low when buying online, knowing I can return items if they don’t meet the mark. Essencelondon’s website promises a FULL REFUND if the product is unsatisfactory, which reassured me when making my purchase. However, they are now refusing to issue a refund and haven’t even confirmed the return process. This is where the real problem lies.

Instead of honoring their policy, they’ve resorted to manipulative tactics to drag out the process, presumably hoping I’ll miss the 30-day refund window. First, they tried to discourage me from returning the coat, saying I’d have to pay £20 for return shipping and risk failing their “inspection,” which could result in no refund at all—minus the return fee. That was enough to infuriate me.
What annoyed me even more was their repeated attempts to offer partial refunds in exchange for me keeping the jacket. Their first email offered a 10% refund and suggested I “gift” the item (as if I’d ever gift such a piece of trash). The second email increased the offer to 20%, and the third to 30%, while still urging me to keep the product. This back-and-forth has been going on for five days now, and I’m still waiting for their next excuse.

It’s clear they are preying on people who don’t have the time or energy to push back against their deceitful practices. While I don’t have time for their games, I won’t let them get away with this. I’ll make sure others are warned by sharing my experience across every platform and enlisting the help of a friend who’s a TikTok influencer. This behavior is unacceptable, and they need to be held accountable.

SCAM
I ordered clothes from London Essentials , they looked amazing online so I ordered quite a lot for my holidays. They didn’t arrive in time for my holidays so I double checked where they were coming from ( nievely thinking they were based in London) China. 😔
The materials were so cheap and nothing like the pictures, the fit was terrible and poor quality.
I asked for a returns form but they kept offering me 10% then 15 etc. when I said no ( for the 3rd time) and asked for a returns form they sent it . I filled it in exactly as they said, paid for the return with tracking, waited another month for it to reach them for them to turn it around so it’s now stuck in customs in china. I sent an email letting them know I’m not happy and all they say is, sorry for not getting back to you there was a technical fault ( they have used that excuse twice) . They have no intention of refunding me.
DO NOT ORDER GROM THIS COMPANY . SCAM SCAM SCAM

The clothes are cheap, poorly made and the "luxuary material" is thin poly-cotton blend. The sizing hit and miss. They take ages to ship from China. And trying to return or get a refund is painful. I gave up.

Finally had a response asking to send receipt for postage again! More delay tactics for refunding money which I haven’t seen yet.

This company needs to be shut down. Do not respond to emails for weeks then basically lie. IF YOU DO NOT WANT TO LOSE YOUR MONEY DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY. THIS IS A MINUS RATING.

Avoid this company!!! Clothes were terrible and when I tried to send them back, they took forever in sending through the details and I have still not received a refund (I suspect I never will). They are now ignoring my emails and efforts to make contact. Do not be sucked in by the pictures!! They’re misleading and this entity is a scam.

Do not touch, fast fashion disaster. My order took over 3 weeks to arrive. The coat was of very poor quality and fit and when I went to return page I learnt you have to send it back to China with a minimum of £20 return fee.

First time I’ve bought something on line without checking trust pilot and what an error! The tops are nothing like the pics and are of the worst quality. I’ve tried to get a refund but it’s proved hopeless. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

I wish I'd looked at reviews before buying from this company - my fault for falling for a nice picture on Instagram! I have just received my coat and it is NOTHING like the picture. The fabric is totally different - it is thin, plasticky and cheap, a totally different shade of colour and it isn't lined like the photo shows. It's the cheapest fabric I've ever seen. If I wasn't so furious I'd be laughing. What a total joke. Not only have they totally lied on their website and in all their advertising, but they're trashing the planet by producing such rubbish and sending it all the way from China, for it to be binned straight away. I have asked for a refund but I don't expect any joy.

Terrible quality. Tried to return but you need to cover the cost back to chin. This is not a UK based company. Items are terrible

Avoid this company at all cost. Portraying to be a UK based company selling quality clothes. What you get is cheap clothing from china. One review said quick delivery, it takes 2-3 weeks, easy returns/refunds, these would be a figment of your imagination, as they go to great lengths not to give you a refund, at best you can expect 10-30% of the original cost, and sending your item back costs more than the actual clothing!
Responses to your emails are done using AI so you get long emails helping you with nothing.

Scammers, do not purchase from this company. Terrible clothing, I tried to cancel the order but no response and then the cheapest of clothing arrived, it's only good enough for the dogs bed. 😡

A completely different company in Germany!
A complete scam!!!

Either London Essentials already has this email address, (and they respond in German) or Modehaus in Düsseldorf are a completely innocent company, being used by the scammers.

Absolute rubbish company. Thought it was based in this country. Should have done my research. Still waiting for my order. They have taken my money of course. No doubt if my order ever arrives it will be sub standard. Probably lesson learned. How do these companies get away with it. I guess because genuine people like us believe everyone is ‘genuine’. Probably an expensive lesson well learned. So many scammers.

Terrible company. Goods I ordered did not match the picture advertised. Were of very poor quality. Total waste of money.

I would give zero stars if that were possible. The shirt I ordered was £24.95 but was way too small. I contacted the company to say I wanted a refund. They initially offered to refund me 15%, I.e £3.74. I rejected that offer. They then offered a discount of 25%, and then a discount of 50%. It will cost over
£18 to return it. This is a complete scam and I am very angry about it. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM.

Do not buy from them, I purchased 3 tops, on receiving them they are not like the description or the picture shown and the quality of items is poor. I have attempted 3 times to email them for a returns form and so far have been ignored. I shall be contacting trading standards . DO NOT BUY FROM THEM

I bought what looked like a lovely knitted cardigan from this company. I checked the fabric description and it claimed to be hand made.

When it arrived it was APPALLING. Not knitted in ANY way, but pictures of a knitted garment on a hard, scratchy fake poly-something I wouldn’t be seen dead in!

That was just the start.

I tried to return it to ‘LONDON essentials’ to find it has to be returned to China at a minimum cost of £23.50 plus tracking, making it economically unviable. Yea, it does say returns are at your own cost before you buy, but China? Honestly, a complete con!

Don’t buy from this company. NOTHING about their products or company is what it seems. They are rip off merchants, preying on people.
