I have been conflicted about our experience but on balance it has left me feeling a little ripped off. This feels like I need to take some responsibility for allowing myself to be ripped off but the showroom is really well presented and we needed a car super quick. I think we paid way over the market price for the mini, quite a high price for a car whose head gasket has blown recently and we've been landed with a costly repair bill about 18 months after purchase. Again, that could be a coincidence due to the age of the car. During that 18 month period of our ownership the car has covered around 700 miles max. Early issues with the vehicle were dealt with rather slowly by Londonmini and we spent quite a while without the vehicle. We also incurred travel costs when picking up and dropping off the car. The boot lid issue was not fixed and we know it was an issue as the release under the back seat had a piece of string attached to it so you can open the boot manually! Overall I have not felt great about this purchase or dealing with Londonmini. I don't think I would recommend this dealer overall and always do your own research, don't rely on the salesperson as we did. Charles also said that if we ever wanted to sell the Mini he would gladly have it back. We have offered it back to him for sale (before the head gasket issue was known) and he gave us some excuse about already having the same Mini in the garage so 'not at the moment' - twice we were rejected. Not great!

I am surprised this 'company' is still allowed to trade - If I could give this review 0 stars I would. I bought my first car from Charles (Sinclair Cars at the time), did not do my homework and I paid the price...

Within weeks of getting the car, there had been various issues which I had taken back to this 'company' to fix. The issues took months at a time to sort out where we had no contact from Charles whatsoever. After taking the car in for a second time, I knew something wasn't right so I took it to a BMW/MINI garage to thoroughly check the car over. The results came back. To name a few: the chassis was corroded, the exhaust did not fit the car, the tyres were bald and the treads were gone, etc, etc. The works that needed to happen to the car were worth more than the car itself - it was deemed written off.

This man is not scared of any court proceedings and will refuse to take any responsibility for the car once it has been bought. He dissolves his companies and changes the name to stop reviews like this from showing. I felt mocked and highly taken advantage of.

I am sincerely hoping this review reaches a vast amount of people to help you to avoid losing time, energy and money with this 'company'. I truly believe that a lot of the MINI's they sell are dangerous and are not fit to drive, just like mine was.

Charles sold my sister a mini, turns out it had alot of mechanical issues that were not spoken about prior to collection, i HPI the car and it has roll backs on the mileage and further inspection resulted in the car failing a 50 point inspection.

Upon taking it up with him he refused to refund just 2 weeks after purchasing the car, after months and months of agro we were looking at proceeding with court action, when Charles heard of this he accepted to return the money back to us minus £500.

DO NOT USE THIS TRADER, HES AN ABSOLUTE JOKER & SCAMMER. Do your homework!

Avoid - Charles did not repair the car, gave multiple excuses even after having the car back for 5 days. Local dealer repaired the car in 2 days. Had to go to small claim court and through bailiffs to recover the money. Car was also Cat N which was not declared

I bought a car from Charles 2003 Mini one for 2500 driven a little more 100k miles it was all fine during the 3 months warranty . This was our second car and quite less driven and then myself started using it and then after few months I started having problems with over heating and then power steering , went to London mini and he charged me 500 to fix it and then I called him for my mot and car is overheating at that point also , he completed the mot it failed in the first attempt and then passed at the second attempt . Then I called him to pick the car up and when I reached there he said the gearbox is not working which was all fine untill mot and mot was passed as well. Obviously without gearbox it’s of no use and when I went to check about the car he said I cannot pay you anything for the car as gearbox is not working .Earlier he promised me that if I sell the car to him ,he can pay upto 1500 . I don’t know what has happened but I really have a feeling that something is fishy here and never would recommend this dealer.

I brought a car from this Trader.There was a problem with the car, before the warranty expired. The company dealt with my issues.And have to say I was very Happy with the outcome

My wife phoned this company and asked if the car advertised on autotrader was still for sale before travelling 2 hours to buy it.. when she arrived she was told a load of nonsense.. something about these models having a dodgy engine and therefore wouldn't sell it to her.. ??? She then drove another 2 hours back home..the dealer did however offer another mini. 6 years older and £300 more expensive? These dealers don't know their minis..they are just a posh bunch of conmen who don't know their.... from their elbows.. don't bother TRYING to buy a car from them..

I did originally leave a good review but after having the car serviced today and to be told someone had hammered the sump plug into place resulting in me having to replace the whole unit, and the filter old and worn, my mechanic said the engine had been butchered. The car I was told and as stated on my invoice had a full service by his “mini specialist” team at London mini before it left his site. Don’t trust a word he says.

Bought a car from here in Feb last year, wish we had looked at the reviews first.

The car was great looking but hid all sorts of issues. Within a week of getting it home issues started, very difficult dealing with Charles and trying to get a resolution. The car has been an absolute lemon, poorly looked after with so many issues. The exhaust was held on with cable ties! We have got rid, thank goodness. Do not buy a car from here without getting it properly checked and be careful of the price (none are displayed). Personally I would suggest avoiding at all costs

I had bought a mini convertible from Charles in November 23 . I was feeling uncomfortable driving it as it was an old car and 2 door.. it had been a quick decision after having to scrap my beautiful BMW due to Ulez. However I went back this month and told Charles that this wasn’t the car I should have bought. He made no fuss and offered to exchange it for any other car I liked and gave me the full refund in exchange.
I’m very happy with my my newer Mini Cooper 5 door and just had to pay another £500 towards the exchange.
It’s a fantastic exchange.

Would give ZERO if I could. DO NOT buy a car from CHARLES SINCLAIR at LONDON MINI HAMPTON. Do your research first, we purchased a car that broke down within 3 months, we had it towed back to Charles at our own expense where he did nothing with it for months and eventually the car had to be scrapped as it would've cost thousands to repair. An independent specialist inspected the car and informed us that the car should never have been sold in the first place.

There are many stories like ours, Charles has been operating like this for years.

If you want to buy a mini, I implore you to do it from somewhere else

I’ve already bought my second Mini from them and couldn’t be happier. Charles and Lynne are lovely people, he knows his cars by heart, he’s friendly, honest and reliable. You can tell they care about their cars and the people who buy them. I strongly recommend them to anyone interested in buying a Mini.

Called Charles at 5pm on a Friday night- car was available and booked a viewing at 9am next morning
Drove 3hrs from Cardiff to be told he sold it at 7pm last night! Rubbish..
When I asked him would it be ready to drive away he told me all cars have a service and fresh mot after sale- obviously this one didn’t

All the cars were tired and tatty- lots look like they’ve been there years!

My daughter bought her first car from this man Charles. Very nice and helpful on the day but on the day to pick it up which was delayed it had to be delivered in the end as he kept trying to fob the car off not being fully serviced. 4 days in it broke down this is when his true nature came out. Arrogant rude and lied about conversations had even though there were multiple witnesses. She managed to get a full refund and looking at other reviews I think she was lucky. Stay well clear he sold an overpriced car that was still in the name of the previous owner. Extremely dodgy.

My wife was selling her Mini Cooper S to this clown, (Charles, if that's his real name) turned out to be an arrogant dictating bully, I told her to report him to ebay and we cancelled the sale.

I was selling my low mileage mini on EBay had an offer from Charles London Mini centre.
He agreed the buy it now price and bought the car. Since then he never returned any of my communications never paid for the car. Looking at the reviews I can see he is a totally untrustworthy person.
Based on my experience and other reviews I suggest it would be unwise to buy a car or sell a car to him.

I purchased my Mini Cooper S from Charles at London Mini, nothing was to much trouble. On inspection he found the clutch was about to go and replaced it with no additional cost to me and the car came to me mechanically sound. He would not let me have the car until he was happy with it. I collected the car and it now steals the show at many Mini shows being a JCW version. I would absolutely recommend London Mini from the experience I have had he is a Mini enthusiast as well as a business - not sure where some of the reviews on here have been to but definitely not the London Mini I dealt with

They said they would contact me with a list of vehicles in my budget and I called a couple of times. It’s been a month they never got back to me. Lazy.
