Do not visit Luss
Do not visit Luss. The locals are intolerant of outsiders, even though they claim to want tourism. The location is a tourist trap, where you are not allowed to park on any street or even stop on any street at all, because they claim it is a conservation area. I parked on Pier Road, on a Sunday, there was ample parking, and yet, a parking attendent was clearly waiting because they issued a ticket almost immediately. When leaving Pier Road, a couple drove up in their car and parked. I asked if they lived there, they did not. I asked if they knew they could not park on the road, and they said they did not know that. The council fined me £100, yet there is no signage stating the penalty fees. The road I parked on had no road markings, and it can be easy to miss the signs when concentrating on the roads as they are small, narrow and unfamiliar to visitors. I believe many people experience this fine, particularly tourists, who do one-off visits and then get fined by this council. Luss is not worth £100 and being left to feel like you were not welcome.
