MacDroid is a versatile and efficient solution for transferring files between your Mac and Android devices. It supports both USB and Wi-Fi connections (starting from version 2.0), allowing you to seamlessly move not only files of any type but also the entire folders to Mac from Android as well as from Android to Mac. There's no need to install additional apps on your Android device - simply connect it to your Mac, provide necessary permissions, and MacDroid grants you full access to both the internal storage and SD card of your Android device. With MacDroid, you can transfer any type of file. Images can be transferred to and from default folders like DCIM, Downloads, Screenshots, or any custom folder you've created. Videos can be moved between folders such as Camera, Downloads, Movies, or any folder of your choice. Music files can be transferred to and from default Music folders or any custom locations you've organized on your device. The app also supports managing Android files directly on your Mac. You can create, delete, duplicate, or rename folders and files without copying them to your Mac first. This functionality ensures that you can efficiently organize and edit files across your devices without unnecessary steps. In addition to Android devices, MacDroid fully supports MTP devices, enabling file transfer between Mac and digital cameras, portable media players, and other gadgets that use the MTP protocol. This broad compatibility makes MacDroid an essential tool for managing files across a wide range of devices.

Pathetic piece of software that is not


Pathetic piece of software that is not cheap. It irregularly connects my 2015 Android phone to my Macbook and then does NOT show the files unless I select Show In Finder. Then it randomly refuses to copy files (or takes so long to make a list and then states insufficient space when there is more than 130GB of spare space).

Follow up: the support EMAIL address provided in the response is INVALID.
Re 1. the data/power cable has worked flawlessly since new.
2. The disconnections occur randomly. Yesterday, I tried to copy a large number of small files (less than 300MB) and I had 4.3 GB of free space and MacDroid stated there was insufficient space. I tried to copy the files to another drive with more free space and after waiting ages for indexing, I got the same error. I eventually had to restart my 2021 MacBook M1 Pro and Xiaomi 15 Ultra phone to complete the transfer - but Why???
3. Android File TRansfer is uninstalled because it does not work in Mac OS 13.6.6
4. Using ADB or MTP makes no difference to random file copying stopping.

Hello, and thanks for your interest in MacDroid.

1) There might be a problem with the USB cable. Charge-only cables don't support data transfer. We recommend trying a different cable that is capable of both charging and data transfer.

2) How do you connect the device: directly to the computer or through the USB hub? Try connecting the device directly to your Mac and check if it works.

3) If you connect via MTP, other software can interfere the MacDroid connection. Please uninstall any other software working with Android devices to eliminate this scenario.

4) Try connecting your device using ABD mode.

Software Not Working

The software does not work on either my Huawei or Samsung phone, to connect with my Macbook Air. The support I have had could be called frustrating at best, as the responses I have received lack clarity and adequate information to address the issues. I am requesting a refund. If something changes I will revise this review.
