Made an online purchase and the seller refused to deal with me. Got Mastercard involved under distance selling regulations but didn't help at all Useless SERVICE and makes a mockery of purchase protection for online sales
Don't expect help from Masrercard
When I tried to ghet my money back from firstnexus Mastercard where of no help at all
"so you are aware, Mastercard does not issue cards, does not maintain cardholder account and transaction data, initiate refunds or dispute transactions on behalf of cardholders, only the issuing bank does. We only serve as the technology provider licensing our network to banks ensuring payments are processed."
Mastercard have declared themselves as…
Mastercard have declared themselves as the arbitrator of morals and ethics. If they don't like what you want to buy or sell, even if its completely legal, they will block your transaction. An utter joke of a company that also completely lacks any real customer service. Shame on them.

Turns out Mastercard is actually a fascist operation for the suppression of artistic voices and that they as a simple payment clerk can decide what you're allowed to purchase and view with your own money and freedom.
In a world where freedom is already being taken away from people at every turn you would think that businesses would keep to doing what they are meant to do.
Mastercard is a payment processor not the government or the police.
Do you have any idea how many incomes of small creatives you've just destroyed?
And what about only fans? Or what about Anne Summers? So what they can just go after artists for provocative works that they created?
Tank their shares. Find alternative payment methods. Clearly just another out of touch corporation targetting men and boys and capitulating to marxist feminist "offence".
I tried to renew my game subscription
I tried to renew my game subscription, but the payment was declined. I couldn't get through to customer services. This means i can't play the game i have been playing for the last 9 months. Because this is rated 18 they will not allow me to pay for it. What else will the ban me from.
Stop censoring games!
This company could improve by stopping censoring video games. Who are they to control what games people play, they aren’t the government, just some greedy company that got too big for their breaches. And for those who think ‘it’s just video games’ it’s video games today, but tomorrow they’ll come after something else, until eventually they control everything. Next, they’ll ban water in case someone drowns.
Censorship and a manopoly
Mastercard and other payment processors have forced steam, other online digital game retails, anime services and Manga services to remove adult content that they don't like. All of this content was legal, but Mastercard and their ilk have bullied them into removing it. This is censorship at its very worst. You don't have a choice in your payment processors, so it the same as your water or electricity company banning serivice/ punishing you for wrong think.
You might personally not care about this or even like these types of games, but be aware that this is legal content that a payment processor is now saying that you can't buy. They are telling you what you can or can't do with your money. This is a slippery slope into them blocking anything that they don't like, such as content with violence in general, content that features guns, horror or gore, content that features dark topics but explores them in thoughtful or philosophical ways.
Mastercard experience - useless!
Mastercard might be a leader in global payments but they are certainly not a leader in customer service and being accountable to their customers, that’s for sure, based on my own and others experiences on here!
I’m still in the middle of trying to recover funds taken by 123 Reg for web hosting which should never have been allowed by Mastercard because my debit card details on file with 123 Reg had expired some months before. Apparently under certain circumstances, Mastercard will authorise such a payment internally, without any reference to the card holder first to see if they want to allow the payment. I tried contacting Mastercard on their customer service number 0800 964767, to challenge them about this malpractice and got absolutely nowhere. After selecting ‘1’ as a card holder and then selecting ‘1’ again for ‘looking for specific account information’ you are prompted to enter and confirm your card number. You then hear a message ‘ please hold while your call is transferred’, before being greeted with silence for several minutes until finally giving up………….useless!!
Terrible communication
Terrible communication. I tried to speak to a person and once I had said hello, they cut me off! Then I was called by a suspected scam number. This happened every time after speaking to Mastercard or trying to.
Mastercard
Mastercard. About as useful as a gear stick in a canoe. Will only deal with banks, not customers, regardless of a person's seriousness of complaint! Big cheer for Visa who expedite disputed transactions and adhere to their policies. Mastercard are useless.
Mastercard experience
One of the most inept departments that I have unfortunately had to deal with.
On applying for a Hayes travel card I downloaded the app and tried to register.
I wasn't able to register and after numerous trips to my local Hayes travel agency and promises from Mastercard that they would phone back which they never did I found that somehow they had my wrong birth date which was one of the security questions.
Hayes issued me a new card and transferred balance over and also reset correct birthday.
They then credited £10 to my account as part of their promotion.
A few days later I received an email from Mastercard stating that the £10 has been transferred to my bank account.
As I never asked for this and there is no credit in my bank account I contacted Mastercard and after speaking to them for over half hour they denied that the email was sent by them even though it was headed with their email.
I am now in the process of contacting Hayes and getting them to sort it out but I would recommend never to use Mastercard
Mastercard Virtual Card
I had a card given to me when I left my last job as a gift from colleagues. For the past 4 weeks I have had problems using the card. Retailers don't want to know, cant use online or over the phone and cant even split the payments to Virtual Card and VISA card. Trying to speak to Mastercard staff very unhelpful. MyPaymentvault in US very unhelpful. Tremendous Rewards don't want to know. Still not sorted and I need to use the balance on this card. Not a great experience and would not recommend!!!

I sent an email to Mastercard regarding a near fraudulent international transfers. After more than a week a reply has not been forthcoming. A very poor service from a major company who do not seem to care about scams. Very disappointing.

An absolute abysmal service from a company who should know alot better.
I have a Sainsburys Currency Passport Multi-currency Travel Card unfortunately. I've had the card for 3 years and its been nothing but trouble from the start. The trouble started when I was on holiday in Australia so I couldn't really alot other than contact their helpdesk.
The issue now;
The bank debit card I use to reload the card with GBP and Australian dollars expired. So I thought no problem, just log into my Travel Card account and change my associated bank details. This is not possible.
I so rang the free-phone number given on the internet web page. I was on the phone for 90 minutes and the helpdesk didn't have a clue. They said there was no bank debit card associated with the Travel Card. This would only be possible if the bank card expired, which it had, but was then removed automatically from the Travel Card account by Mastercard.
There appears to be no way of adding another debit card. The Travel Card still has £13.76 on it which I can no-longer access nor can I reload the card for my next holiday to Australia very soon.
I sent an email to the UK helpdesk to see if they could resolve the problem. They did nothing but direct me back to their international helpdesk. I'm going round in circles.
Mastercard is both unprofessional, inconsiderate and totally useless.
TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY AND UNNERVING!
This is about the MasterCard CashPassport card... supposedly able to up load various currancies....used mine for four months....no problems....reloads every time.. SUDDENLY....... They increase minimum reload....up to £50!!...have been reloading with £12...£20......any amount successfully!....no message....you apparently......need to CONTINUALLY check their webpage!!??
Even with putting £50..... SUDDENLY...there 'errors reloading'....or the site doesn't recognise me as the valid user!!!!???
Contact by phone......no one KNOWS what is going on!!
I'm supposed to have a 'supervisor' call in...." One hour...maybe two....or could be up to five hours!!!!!"
TOTALLY UNSATISFACTORY AND UNNERVING!
My card needs reloading!!!😡😡😡
Mastercard do not protect you from scammers
I bought FILA shoes on the website fila.com paying by my credit mastercard, they sent me a ridiculous wallet that I sent them back, but they would give me only the 50% refund. I reported them to Mastercard but they told me that they do not get involved.
Mastercard will give your card details to fraudsters
I have a Mastercard debit card on my Chase online account. Just after Christmas I noticed 3 fraudulent transactions on this card listed on my Chase account statement (purchases made online from the US in the middle of the night UK time - and no, I hadn't been to the US). I called Chase and reported the fraud. They have disputed the charges, amounting to around £1000, and changed my card number. Two weeks later I noticed that one of the suppliers of these fraudulent transactions, Twitch, had tried to claim another payment, which had been declined by Chase. I called Chase again and was told that the fraudsters had got my new card number and were using that.... so they changed my card number again. Two days later, same thing. Now they were using the third card number. All very worrying - how could someone get into my phone to find the new number etc. Called Chase again. This time they discovered that it was Mastercard who was giving Twitch each new card number so that they could take payment for this fraudulent transaction! Hard to believe that Mastercard will give fraudsters your new card number but I see below that other people have had the same experience. Unbelievable and appalling!!
Mastercard and Scammers
I have used Mastercard for several online purchases and all went well, but i made the mistake of using an information website (info-record.com) and fell into the hands of scammers. My bank issued me a new card but told me that if these criminals contact mastercard for details of my new card, they will quite happily hand them over. I contacted Mastercard and was informed that they "Don't get involved in that sort of thing and to contact my bank". So Thank you Mastercard. Now i don't make any online purchases because it isn't safe using Mastercard even though they "Don't get involved in that sort of thing"
Obstructive beyond measure
I am informed by my (mastercard) credit card issuers that from now on I have to enter an email address when making a purchase from an online trader using my card. All they will say is that it has to be the email address i "usually use when doing an online transaction" ... NO SUCH ANIMAL. To prevent spam, I set up a new temporary email address, which gets deleted once the transaction is completed. So should I use the email address the credit card companies use? "No, the one you usually use when doing an online transaction". Finally they suggest I talk to Mastercard direct to get their answer as they are the ones who are causing the problem.
For a company that seems determined to relate with an email address, it is staggering that there appears to be no email address findable online by which to contact them - talk about hypocritical! I finally track down their customer "service" number (0800 964 767) and get a recorded message that offers me four options, none of which are appropriate .. and NO OTHER MEANS OF PROGRESSING.
So they are not only obstructing my online purchases but also obstructing me contacting them to sort it out.
If only I could give them zero stars ...
Mastercard Problems?
I have a Mastercard Fluid Credit card.I would like to say that the Fluid part of the partnership has been very helpful and my problem appears to be with the MCard itself. The card is accepted at all terminals with no problem.Whilst trying to pay for any online transaction, Payment is declined?Having contacted Fluid after spending many hours on the phone to retailers etc I have found out and been informed that many retailers have not updated their systems to June 1st 2021 compliance.Apparently Mastercard inform retailers of this when card is declined. So I have a credit card which I have not been able to use online for companies including National Tyres,Halfords and Very UK. Very (excuse the pun) frustrating/time wasting. What is going on???
