This rating is not for Mathew Homes as I have had and am still having lots of issues with the after sales service. The sales team at Ashfield Park, however, were great and I feel that credit is due here. Lynn was very understanding of my situation and kept in regular contact. It definitely made the buying process a lot easier as she was pleasant to talk to and really helpful. I couldn’t fault the sales process - but the after sales experience has been dreadful.

First time buying a Matthew Homes. Lynn & Adrian at the Hedgerow, Thurston have been so helpful and patience whilst deciding on which house to buy. I am so pleased and grateful for their understanding and hope for their continued support throughout the purchase process. Thank you again.

Bought a new home from Matthew Homes, had a few snags, but when I contacted the manager Darren Pennington he was very helpful and got all the jobs done to satisfaction.

I loved the house when I first saw it and the sales team were professional and friendly it was their mission to enable me to purchase the house smoothly and efficiently despite me losing my chain from time to time nothing was too much trouble I put my faith into them and it paid off cannot thank all the team enough and would reccomend Matthew homes company again The site is Brookland Park Burnham on Crouch Essex

I honestly cannot fault the team at Matthew Homes - Green Park Gardens. From the first site visit through to completion the process was seamless. Dom and Denise in sales were prompt with communication and kept us well informed of each step throughout.
Max - the Site Manager - what can I say? Absolute diamond, you have been great from completion throughout - I feel our voice is heard and all snags - no matter how big or small have been resolved in a timely and sensitive manner.
Managing and Construction Directors Jaimie and Darren - while we were surprised to be in contact with you, we are forever greatful for the time you have given us.
Darren - while I am sure we are the most spoken about plot on site we just want you to know we appreciate your availbility, timeliness and honesty you have given us.
Overall our experience with Matthew Homes has been second to none - Darren and Max are true assets to Matthew Homes and we genuinely thank you for the outstanding service you have provided us with.

1st off all I’d like to thank every one on site especially tracey&dan for all their help over the months from deciding I wanted to buy on Blake gardens to after care once moved in ,Dan has been exceptionally helpful with any issues iv had ,you no nothing is any issue to him & the rest off the guys on site ,they all been polite respectful , courteous at all times ,the quality off work is exceptional & I would highly recommend Mathew homes thank you all again Wendy brennan

We moved into our new house on the Blake Gardens Development in May 2025 and we’ve been very satisfied with the build quality and experience so I would thoroughly recommend Matthew Homes! Tracey supported us from the first visit onto the development through to the purchase of our first home. On completion, there where inevitably some snagging issues to address but overall, the build quality has been high and the support even better. The site manager Dan has been exceptional and he really wanted to make sure we’re happy in our new home. Dan worked through the snagging list with us and ensured his team have addressed any issues as quickly as reasonably practicable. Then through no fault of his own, the external wastewater pipe became clogged but he ensured this was rectified on the same day. He also worked very hard to help re-establish our internet connection when the mainline was accidently dug up and damaged. Dan was sincere and apologetic about the incident and I sincerely believe he did everything he could to get us up and running ASAP (<24hrs). Overall Dan and his team are doing an excellent job and I couldn’t recommend everyone enough and would gladly recommend Matthew Homes based on our own experience.

**Update – September 2026**

Following my initial review, I want to provide an honest update on our experience.

Overall, the build quality of our individual property was initially good\. Unfortunately, the level of after -sales service has since declined significantly. We identified a problem with a manhole cover, and it took several attempts to contact Matthew Homes—and considerable persistence—before it was resolved.

We also still have several outstanding issues. Our kitchen sink will not hold water, the downstairs toilet door cannot be closed properly because of the handle configuration, and the towel rail in our en-suite is already showing signs of rust. These may seem like relatively small defects, but they are frustrating when you have paid a significant amount for a new home.

More concerning is the overall standard to which the wider development is being completed. In our opinion, it falls noticeably below that of the Jones Homes development just yards away. Residents have tried to raise concerns with the senior management team, but the overwhelming feeling is that our feedback is not being taken seriously.

Paths are poorly constructed and already damaged, while newly laid roads are being dug up again because of apparent quality issues. Environmental and landscaping features—including grassed areas, plants and trees—are either missing or of poor quality, leaving parts of the development looking unfinished and below the standard we reasonably expected.

There is also a clear difference between some of the expectations created during the sales process and what has ultimately been delivered. For example, we were told there would be a community pond, but this is now described as a SuDS feature. Trees that were expected to soften the walking areas have also not been provided as anticipated.

It is a real shame because the development had a great deal of potential. However, many residents and neighbours are now very unhappy, particularly with the way concerns have been handled. The impression is that budgets and the cost of putting matters right are being prioritised over delivering the promised standard and responding properly to homeowners.

I rarely write reviews and almost never update them. However, the concerns by have become significant enough that I feel an honest update is warranted. Prospective buyers should be aware of both the positives and the negatives before committing such a substantial amount of money.

Total lack of professionalism, I advise against buying a house from this company, I bought a house 4 years ago,There was no one to correct the shortcomings, total lack of respect for the customer, 0 stars, customer service, I am extremely disappointed, I advise against buying!!!

Our first time buying a Matthew Homes property and overall a great and easy experience. Steve and Jackie in the sales office were helpful and answered any questions quickly and accurately.
Since moving in, any minor snags have already been dealt with efficiently and to a high standard - thanks to Kevin for organising these.
Overall the house is well finished and solid, really happy with experience!

First time buyer, new build property, moved in a month ago. I’d been house hunting for over a decade and been actively viewing properties for 5 years up and down the country.
I can confidently compare all the properties and by far this has been the best. From reservation, to viewing, to communication, the whole process has been smooth and professional. Matthew Homes properties are built to very high specifications with invisible finishes to things like doors, cupboards and any built in appliances. Everything about the home perfectly complements the home and there is not one thing I would change and it’s clear that the builder cares about quality and integrity.
** A month in and I’ve had a visit from the lovely Graham, site manager at the Cann Hall development and he embodied everything I’ve been saying about Matthew Homes. Graham was very thorough, professional, knowledgeable, helpful and one can tell he not only loves what he does but takes pride in what he delivers to his customer. It was also evident that he works very well with his team and is a valued leader as I met 3 others on the day including Richard the Plumber. My neighbours and I have not stopped complimenting our homes. I would highly recommend Matthew Homes to future property buyers and if you’re lucky enough to have Graham manage your site, consider it a bonus. Thank you so much for my perfectly gorgeous new home, I couldn’t have picked a better developer.

This is my second time purchasing a Matthew Homes property and the standard continues to be high all-round.

The house is stunning, Matthew Homes build quality houses and they don't over-crowd their developments.

The builders on-site are very friendly and willing to help with anything.

The sales process was not straight-forward for me, but the whole team in the office, Steve in particular, went above and beyond to help me and I am very grateful for their support in a time when it felt like everything was working against me.

We received exceptional service throughout the entire new home purchasing process. The painters, plumbers, electricians, and site managers provided outstanding support and addressed all our requests.

We have been supported throughout our purchase by the sales team who have been very helpful with a very speedy completion and on moving in to our new home (Attleborough) by the site team. Some small design improvements could be made with placement of electrical sockets not ideal but otherwise we are very happy in our new home

The site manager has been excellent, nothing too much trouble and hardly anything to fix on the snagging. Reliable and returns calls. Great service. (Brantham)

I have recently moved into a Matthew Homes property in Attleborough. An excellent experience from start to finish. When I first looked at the properties Steve was excellent, patient, nothing was too much trouble. Moving in day the Site Manager Dave checked in with me, made sure I was happy and answered any questions I had. All the guys on site are courteous and friendly. I am so pleased with my new home, great build, great team and great location, thank you to the whole team.
