My wife and I recently relocated from the US to County Kerry. We’ve been in the process of refreshing the home we purchased here. This includes several painting projects. We feel extremely fortunate to have found Pat McDonnell Paints in Tralee. The bright, roomy store is fully stocked with a wide selection of paints and painting supplies. Each person with whom we have interacted there has been very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. One individual in particular, though, warrants special mention. Jules McElligott is their Colour Consultant. While I’ve been in numerous paint stores previously, I’ve never encountered a colour consultant before. Now I can’t imagine selecting a paint colour without first consulting Jules. On one occasion, with just a vague description of what we were trying to do, Jules immediately pulled out a colour sample that was spot on. On another occasion, she suggested a colour shade different than the ones my wife and I had been considering. It, too, proved to be a perfect choice. As an artist, Jules has a deep, personal, and commanding knowledge of colours and their nuances that easily surpasses that of any commercial painter with whom we have worked in the past. On top of that, it’s just a pleasure to work with her. Even if you think you know what you want for your next painting project, I wholeheartedly recommend scheduling a consultation with Jules. Like us, I expect you’ll find her assistance invaluable.

As a DIYer renovating my own house, I wish I went there sooner. Great people, excellent advice and best range of products. If you have a painting job to do, just go there and you’ll figure everything out!

Ordered paint at 2.30 pm on Tuesday from Pat Mc Donnell paints and it was delivered at 11am following morning. Very competitive prices of high quality products.

Great experience buying my Dulux pain here. The website and online ordering was incredibly quick, and I couldn't believe the price difference compared to Woodies and B&Q. It was delivered quickly to my home without any issues. 6 stars for convenience and value.

Went into the store near the Marina and got such helpful advice! We recently bought our first home, and have a baby with a condition which can be exacerbated by strong smells. We were interested in low VOC paint and had our eyes on the Ralston range. Left with brilliant advice and even more brilliant paint. The store is heaven for paint buyers but also to get your creative thoughts flowing. The paint has gone on like a dream, will definitely go to Pat McDonnell paints everytime!
