Not impressed with sylvagro
Bought 4 bags of this at the beginning of the season for our hanging baskets, tomatoes and cucumbers. First impressions were very good, the compost looked and smelled good. However, right from the start we found that the tomatoes and cucumber plants grew spindly and weak. The hanging baskets too have been very disappointing, they simply havenât put on the strong growth that we have had in the past with a different compost. Overfeeding them has brought some improvements, but there still far from what we have produced in the past. We are reasonably experienced gardeners, so it canât be us. We put up (usually) a dozen baskets, and have a greenhouse of tomatoes and cues, and have done so here for over 20 years
Edit:
Spoke to a very nice lady who offered to analyse some of the compost, but ultimately decided not to send a sampleâŠâŠ.essentially too much bother, didnât have suitable container to hand, and it wouldnât improve our baskets/crops.
