This is a great product. I unfortunately only cancelled as like all children they grow up and spare time is with there friends.

I hope to pick up again when my kids have more time

The kits are great! So informative and fun. Customer service is busy and it may take a little longer but they will get back to you and answer questions or make all issues right.

They emailed me back but still a little confused whats next step ???

MEL Science provides high quality kits that are easy to follow and fun for both parents and kids. I originally subscribed to supplement homeschooling and found them perfect for that need. I have found each one fascinating. These are easy to use, require very little prep or clean up, and the company provides extensive support. These kits are an extremely good value for the price.

I have edited my review but am retaining the 1 star for poor customer service and for MEL STEM subscription for being a very poor value for money.
I also continue to not have activated my MEL STEM subscription.
We received Jack lift/Hydraulic lift from MEL at £20 and also bought a similar kit from another competitor of MEL - we found that, that kit provided an in depth explanation of hydraulic system which my 5 year old and even I fully understood. MEL STEM’s Jack lift was a one project kit where as the other one was a layered one - could start from building a simple hydraulic system and go on build better more complex systems and gave my son the confidence to have a go at building his own, which we did (that other kit-not MEL STEMs- kit has enough material to do that). MEL’s Jack lift now sits on the book shelf gathering dust as there is no scope to tinker/alter.
Another factor is the poor customer service- within 7 hours of posting my first review here I had a response from MEL SCIENCE that they were looking to resolve the matter and that I should email them at a certain email ID which I did but didn’t have a response for over 24 hours. I then emailed them back but copied in the customer care team’s email who did respond to my email and helped me understand what I was asking. This to me feels that MEL science aren’t as keen on customer satisfaction as they are on forming a positive impression on customers who might be looking at their reviews to decide if they should invest in MEL science or not.

The MEL kids box is fantastic for my curious eight-year-old, who is able to assemble them by herself (but prefers company). She really liked the comics and finished products, and I found the components to be sturdy and the instructions very well put together.

My eldest did Mel Kids from 7y through 9y, and looked forward to receiving the kit every month. We home school, and i found the lessons a good base on which to explore science concepts together. Seriously recommend doing at least the lesson booklets together with you child. Online lessons are also enjoyable and informative.

My one criticism is that the parts that make up the kit are occasionally fraglie. Usually they're pretty robust so it's not a regular issue, but once we had a broken valve (easy to pick up replacement) and once the force needed for assembly resulted in a broken plastic plate. The kits in both cases were still useable, and overall we thoroughly enjoyed the kits.

Our family loved MEL science kits, and the support and instructions are very clear and easy to understand. Highly recommend!

What started as a great Christimas gift became a 2 year science experiment. My kids look forward to the arrival of each month's kit, which by the way is designed very well and easy to use. I highly recommend MEL Science to provide a great starting point to expand the mind of a child in a world of science.

MEL Science is a great product and their customer service is excellent.

What an amazing opportunity to expose the kids to cool fun experiments. They are easy for them to use relatively unsupervised.... perfect for lockdowns

I love this product. The kits are fun and easy to do. Unfortunately, I honestly just didn't have the time to do them with my kinds and had to cancel. If you have time, this is a wonderful product.

We used Mel Science for three years - both Chemistry and Physics. He loved it! His favorite part was that showed him cool science experiments and explained why the outcomes happened.

My 6 & 8 year old love these! They are great and they actually learn something. My only complaint is when we wanted to renew a 4 month subscription, there was no guarantee we wouldn’t get the same kits, so we did not renew. There should be a way for them to keep track so you get new kits instead of duplicates.

Really great product. Interesting to all ages. The teachers are engaging and deliver the online tutorials in a fun and informative way.

We enjoyed the multiple layers of this experience and tried to use minimal ingredients so we could replicate experiments multiple times

These kits are excellent. My 7th grade son and I had a fun time with the experiments, and I felt like he learned alot with the hands on materials.

The program is wonderful, and the kids had great fun doing the experiments.
I was grateful to have some supplement to their limited school Science
curriculum.

I bought a monthly subscription for a whole year as a birthday present for twin boys . A quality product and great service. The boys loved every month when the package arrived. I will definitely buy again in the future.

My grandkids loved the chemistry program. Well worth the money. Thanks.
