Merlin Bike Gearレビュー 

I purchased a Merlin wax jacket over 5 years ago and it is still bulletproof!! More recently looked at their lighter casual gear and went with the Renegade AAA shirt after speaking to them at the bike shed London show last month, it is a brilliant piece of kit to go with my Triumph Scrambler.

Bought a waterproof jacket - leaked at the ellbow after 25mins in the rain. When I sent it in I got the reply that "the fault does not exist".
They obviously did not bother to actually test with water.
So I am left with a jacket that is not fit for purpose - money wasted.

Bought a pair of boots, lasted 14 months before the stitching started coming loose at the toe protection. Protection now wearing through with no further gaurd against the gear shifter. Emailed them raising the issue and they never bothered to respond. Poor service, poor quality. Not recommended.

Sorry I don’t know the name of the jacket and trousers that I bought. I’m one of those who try things on and go from there. I’m so glad that I did buy them though as they saved my life. I recently got in to a nasty crash the bike was a A1 cat right off. From what everyone told me I shouldn’t be here today. Luckily the jacket and trousers took the brunt of the crash. The only injury’s that I received were both feet were broken. Will definitely buy there gear again when I’m ready.

I bought a solitude jacket and I must say this is one of the best motorcycle jackets I have ever bought and I e been riding 43 years it’s warm comfortable and for a laminate jacket it’s like a textile
I will be buying trousers to match as it was so warm and comfortable

I have just bought their Akashi touring jacket and I can thoroughly recommend it. Its been brilliant in the recent heat wave and has kept me cool with all the vents open. I bought it at the ABR festival this year and Andrew was as helpful as always.
This is the second Merlin jacket that I have bought and both have been brilliant. I also own 2 pairs of their touring trousers and a pair of boots. I have never had an issue with any of them and I do about 10,000 miles a year on my bike so they get a lot of use.
I would definitely recommend and all of their gear is great value for money.

Bought a new Merlin helmet (the ADV one) and it is brilliant value for money!! I've had Merlin stuff in the past and have been super happy with it.

I now own 4 pairs of Merlin Gloves 2 pairs of Merlin boots and 1Jacket, all products are as described or better and the quality of all is exceptional, superb value for money Quality leathers and textiles used, fit and finish is great and great customer service too, updating my ageing bike gear and i shell look no further as i still have some more products to purchase

Purchased in recent years the dunford jeans, axe shirt and a waxed jacket. All still stand the test of time, comfortable, premium quality, protective and from my experience dropping them a call with a product query I received very helpful information.

Bought two pairs of Drax II boots in size 11 and 12, having read that sizing can be a bit skew-whiff with these boots. The size 12s ankles had a coating of sawdust, a different CE rating to the size 11s, and to top it off were smaller than the size 11s.

I replaced for a different pair of 12, which had a smaller left foot size to the right, and with loose threading on the left boot.

Please sort out your quality control.

Hi, I purchased a leather Merlin Wishaw jacket from Sportsbikeshop about a year ago, Ive worn it about 8-9 times as I only do 500 miles or so a year, the cuff snap popper came off so Sportbikeshop sorted a return for me for repair, two weeks later I have it back, first ride to work wearing it and another popper was missing on the same cuff when I got there, I didn't even use that one, also Ive worn my Kreiga R25 backpack 4-5 times on the jacket and it has started to show a white colour where it contacts the jacket so I'm assume its removing the colour, not what you expect from a £280+ jacket, I'm waiting to see what happens next.
Sportsbikeshop have been great through this and have no worries using them again or recommending them.
I did email Merlin for some poppers to save all the hassle but never received any replies from them.
Needless to say that's my only and last experience with Merlin, hopefully yours will be better.

Update: I did receive an email from Merlin about 2 weeks later, they were going to send some poppers till I told them I had returned the jacket, the informed me they have had a few problems with these on this jacket and its being discontinued because of it, a shame as its a great jacket, I even offered to buy my return and have the poppers replaced by velcro.

I just want to reiterate what Ran and a few others here have said. I bought a Shenstone jacket for my trips round Oz and it has been superb, quality, toughness and total practicality...plus Helena, what a star!🌞 I lost the water proof liner on one trip, contacted Urban Rider where I got it from who popped me onto Merlin directly. Helena was able to get a replacement made for me and shipped out, for a jacket they don't make any more!!! (shame,😔) but wow, she got it for me and sent. Brilliant!

I cannot praise Helena or Merlin enough, super service and super kit. I have even picked up a Kurkbury here for those colder days (yes it does get cold) and it's equally as brill.

Why this team have no site to blog is a bit bizarre but this Trustpilot thing I hope helps to rectify the issue.

Do buy, they simply do bike gear really well and live it.

I got few Merlin items like gloves jackets and jeans and boots. obviously as usual Merlin represent a great value for money.
Recently i got from a LONDON (basically no directly from Merlin)
Merlin retailer "Kerkbury" Jacket that I wanted for a long time.
and I love it. good quality look robust and warm. I did tried it in a rain and it's good. I had a little problem with the belt. its seems like maybe at the retailer or in Merlin storage before shipment someone mixed up the jackets belts. I got a the jacket in size Large and thr belt was around size extra extra large. I've contact directly to Merlin on the contact form online. within few hours a lady name Helena replied to me, she's apologise and said we have one spare belt I'll send it to you free of charge.
I absolutely delightful with the customer service Merlin provide.
I will definitely buy products recommend everyone to buy from Merlin.

Mason Jeans we’re at best showerproof and not waterproof. Merlin bike gear not interested as now jeans are out of their Warranty. There are several other reviews posted on other sites which also suggest that the crotch is subjected to water ingress. Look elsewhere for jeans that cost £169. Poor performance even poorer customer service!

I bought a Merlin Edale Jacket for use on my motorbike. The jacket came with D30 armour which in itself is really good.
However the jacket quality whilst waterproof and warm is about as far as it gets. The fabric is very loose fitting and the armour on the elbows sits just above the cuff, meaning that there is absolutely no protection for the elbows as it doesn't get any where near. same to be said of the shoulder armour as it sits below the shoulders offering no protection at all.
The sleeve length is good but because of the loose fitting armour which is in pockets much much bigger than the armour it renders the jacket practically useless in the event of an accident. Don't know how this company can sell the jacket as PPE cos it certainly isn't.
Please look elsewhere for a waterproof jacket.

I purchased a jacket, jeans, boots and gloves six months ago of Merlin Bike Gear. Last week I had a bad accident on my bike.
As a result of the accident I was left travelling along the road without my bike. Due to the excellent protective gear supplied by Merlin I recieved no visible injuries just stiffness the day after. The protective gear took all of the impact and sliding along the road, the Merlin clothing undoubtedly saved me from skin and bone damaged. I can not recommend Merlins gear enough and as soon as I am able to sort a new bike I will be buying a complete replacement of Merlin clothing.
Very high quality and very pleased with the safety of this brand.

Shoddy company and clothing start to finish. Bought a yoxall 2 jacket, got it home and realised the sleeves if the inner hacket had been sewn incorrectly, i couldnt raise my arms to my helmet. Merlin had no advice other than to return it to dealer. Dealer told me they would return the inner and get a new one… merlin returned the same one! 4 hrs of to and fro. To be honest as frustrated as i was at the time i got a refund after much arguing, which was a god send as the jackets collar rubbed the throat when turning my head. Theres way better quality gear for less money

While I am aware this isn't claimed and therefore not official review site, I just wanted to write my experience somewhere. I can not praise Merlin Bike Gear enough.
I purchased a pair of Jeans, a Hixon jacket, Selena Boots and a pair of leather gloves, I think they are called Rantons. My delivery was amazingly quick. I absolutely love my items, especially my boots. My RST boots were so uncomfortable and cut me in the back of the foot. I could walk around in these Selenas all day! All products came with pre-fitted armour unlike some brands and for the quality of the products, I think they are a really good value!

Hi I brought a pair of Merlin Coley boots , last year boots looked great, very comfortable, but noticed early on the soles were wearing quite quickly.

Contacted Merlin last year and they said they carried a 12 months warranty, but because I had a concern this would be raised to 2 years. This year wear has continued to the point I do not feel safe with the grip they now provide, so no longer wear them even though leather upper is still like new.

Contacted merlin this year and basically told me that it is fair wear and tear, and sole only carry 3 months warranty. On further emails pointed out these are sold as a motorcycle boot so the sole needs to be up to the job which these clearly are not. Still no joy, this is fair wear and tear.

The boots are 18 months old and have been used for approximately 4000 miles of social riding, I've had in the past had Dainese, sidi boots which have lasted 5 to 10 years. Very disappointed with Merlin, and will not be buying anything else from them.
Have since had these repaired at a local cobblers shop who replaced soles and heals for me and he commented on the good quality upper part of boot but could not understand why they had used a cheap sole which was not solid but plastic honey comb with a layer of cheap rubber tread over the top on a motorcycle boot which take the shock of putting your feet down each time you stop .

In 2019, I bought a pair of Combat Boots from Merlin. They were great initially, but despite taking good care of them, the leather began cracking through the upper at the crease points.

The rep here in Australia was very helpful, and replaced the boots under warranty.

Unfortunately, the same thing happened again with the second pair, but worse. This time, the leather became cracked and chipped within 6 months. It is clearly not the high-grade leather claimed in advertising.

I contacted the rep again, and though they were initially very helpful, they were unwilling to do anything as this item had already been replaced under warranty. Eventually I was just left with the problem.

I've had to keep using the boots in the wet weather we're having, despite how they're degrading. Yesterday, one of the leather zip pulls completely came away in my hand.

I take good care of my equipment, especially leather products. Though I ride daily, it is a short commute on suburban roads.

I'm disappointed, as on two occasions now the boots have failed to meet my expectations. I will be shopping elsewhere.
