I would strongly recommend being very cautious renting from this company.

At the end of my rental, I was accused of causing a small scratch on the rear bumper that was already present when I picked up the vehicle. This was not pointed out or documented at the start of the rental.

They then attempted to charge my full deposit of 50,000 pesos (approximately $4,000 AUD) for this.

When I asked for evidence, they were unable to provide:

- Timestamped photos showing the condition of the vehicle before my rental
- A signed return inspection confirming damage
- Clear proof that the damage occurred during my rental period

The only photo shown did not include any verifiable date or time.

I also experienced pressure regarding insurance coverage at pickup, despite my booking indicating that coverage was included.

I gave the company the opportunity to respond and provide supporting evidence, but did not receive any reply.

This matter has now been formally disputed with my bank.

My advice to others: take full video evidence at pickup and return, and ensure all existing damage is clearly documented before leaving the rental location or rent elsewhere

I travel alot for work, I often fly home for a few days. I was told because I was in my home state I had to put $1000 dep and I had a 50 mile limit daily.

No recuerdo haber tenido una experiencia tan desagradable con ninguna empresa de ninguna industria en todo el mundo.

La empresa no quiso cumplir las condiciones acordadas con el intermediario y me quedé sin coche de alquiler. Te cuentan que tienes que hacer frente a un pago de 750.000 pesos si no contratas su seguro y un depósito de casi 3000 dolares. No aceptan darte el vehículo con las condiciones pactadas con tu intermediario. Conductas mafiosa. Tras la reclamación, no sueltan el importe prepagado. Perderás tu dinero, tiempo y paciencia

Worst rental company I have ever experienced . Pure scammer , I already paid online through a broker and then was told at the desk that I need to buy a local insurance otherwise I am not allowed to get the car , charged me £261 for it . Then took £1200 deposit .once I got the car I realised the remote of the car wasn’t working probably . When I gave the car back they told me all good and then 10 min later I received an email that I need to pay £339.66 for other fees.i had to block my credit card . Broker should not used this company , do not hire vehicle from them ever

Le mejor experiencia con mex en Cancún, los coches no valen un dollar consideren las leyes en cada país, y hay que pagar lo que es necesario en cada uno de ellos, mi mejor experiencia y seguridad completa fue con ellos gracias infinitas

No human contact.Forced to purchase additional insurance even though I had already purchased collision through Expedia. Was charged 186 additional dollars to use my own insurance company and was told I would be refunded the cost of the collision I purchased through Expedia. Was then charged a $250 deposit it has now been over a month and I have been reaching out but have come to the conclusion that I am out, The $325 they owe me word of warning. I know it looks like a good deal when you make the reservation, but this five day rental ended up costing me almost $600. Go with a reputable company!

Nos dieron un coche distinto, un chino, bástate cutre, tuvimos q cambiar los limpiaparabrisas y nos dijeron q nos devolverían el coste y no lo hicieron, la Semora de recepción muy borde y mal educada

Pessima reputazione e truffatori Abbiamo prenotato con expedia la macchina a noleggio a cancun tutto ok fino alla consegna dove l adetto ha dato un parere favorevole alla riconsegna della vettura. Al momento della fattura arrivata via mail dopo circa 20min abbiamo trovato 250€ in più perche secono loro abbiamo rovinato i tappetini. Prendete un altra marca sconsigliata

Customer service is non existent, complete sham when it comes to legit rentals. They refuse all your insurance proofs to force you to buy their insurance . Cars aren't cleaned from last renter, dashboard lights on and not even a full tank of gas. Never again will I ever trust this company.

I am extremely disappointed with the level of service provided. Because of this experience, I will not be recommending this company, and this will be the last time I use your service. My first experience with you was okay, which is why I decided to book again — unfortunately, this time was completely different. Don’t book any service with them.

I'm entitled to a partial refund... Since November 2025 and still nothing! Now they even ignore my emails, no answers at all. Bad experience with MEX.

Scam, criminal rental car company. They wanted charge me 1200 USD on arrival that was not listed in the original booking. Gangsters.

Llego a Cancún con mi madre de más de 70 años. Agotados del vuelo como es natural. Mi reserva de coche para 7 días la hice a través de rentalcars.com varios meses antes (reserva de coche + seguro a todo riesgo). Precio unos 300€.

Al llegar me dicen que tengo que contratar un seguro. Les respondo que ya lo he contratado y a todo riesgo. Respuesta: no, ese es un seguro internacional, tiene que contratar el seguro nacional que son 18.000MXN (como 900€).

Estamos locos? Evidentemente me niego porque el coche lo quería para ir al hotel y regresar en 7 días. Nos dejaron tirados y respondiéndonos mal. Al regresar al aeropuerto buscamos un transporte. Una chica muy amable nos atendió y no dijo "Trabajé 7 años en MEX rentacar y eso lo hacen siempre que se paga barato por rentar con antelación, se inventar cualquier excusa (incluso que no tienen la categoria de coche) para cobrar muchísimo más y estafar".

Pues ya sabéis lo que ocurre con esta gente.

I visited the City of Oaxaca, in Mexico, and rented a car from Mex Rent a Car from January 25th until February 9th, 2026. The car they allowed me to have had crashes all around, and told me that that car was the only one they had available at the moment. I took pictures of the crashes in order to avoid them telling me that the crashes were caused by me. I took great care of the car while I had it with me, and it was in a private parking at night. So, I made sure that nothing happened to the car because of me being careless. When I received the car, the guy who delivered the car to me, behaved like my best friend (Noe Martinez), but when I returned the car he behaved like a bad turkey. He was looking very carefully around the car to see what to blame me and charge me about. He finally found a chip on the windshield and accused me of having caused it. That chip was like nothing as the car was damaged all around. He didn´t accept any reasons from me, and charged me $67 dollars for it. That chip on the windshield certainly didn´t happen while I had the car with me. It was a disgusting experience. I will never rent a car again from this company. Pretty dishonest and untrustworthy.

DO NOT RENT FROM MEX CAR RENTAL. WE WERE SENT TO THEM FROM PRICELINE AND THEY ONLY COMMUNICATE VIA A ZOOM SESSION. THEY TRIED TO CHARGE US AN EXTRA $450.00 TO TAKE THEIR INSURANCE. WHEN I BOOKED THRU PRICELINE IT ASKED IF I HAD MY OWN INSURANCE AND I CHECKED YES. THE ZOOM PERSON ON THE OTHER END WOULDN'T ACCEPT MY DEC PAGE FROM PROGRESSIVE THAT HAS THE HIGHEST LIABILITY AND COLLISSION LIMITS. I ARGUED WITH HER SO MUCH SHE DISCONNECTED THE ZOOM CALL. WE LEFT THE BUILDING AND HAD TO WALK DOWN THE STREET WITH OUR LUGGAGE TO ANOTHER RENTAL AGENCY. THEN I FIND OUT THEY CHARGED ME FOR A CAR $208.51 THAT I DIDN'T TAKE FROM THEM. PRICELINE IS USELESS. THEY COULDN'T AND WOULD'T HELP ME EVEN THOUGH THIS VENDOR IS IN THEIR LIST. IT'S NOW 2-17-26 AND THE CHARGE JUST APPEARED AGAIN ON MY CREDIT CARD BILL. CALLED PRICELINE AGAIN AND THEY WILL NOT HELP ME STATING THAT THE CONTRACT FOR THE RENTAL CLEARLY STATES NO REFUNDS. I DON'T HAVE THE CONTRACT. IT WAS ALL DONE VIA ZOOM. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T USE THIS COMPANY.

I wouldn't recommend this company even to my worst enemy, I think that this company is run by a criminal cartel in Mexico, because they are very smart stealing money from customers. This company should be removed from all travel sites. Please don't hire them to avoid a big nightmare !

La verdad no hay palabras para describir la clase de empresa mafiosa que son, aunque ya tenía todo incluido de todos modos tratan de buscar la manera de subirte el precio de manera engañosa para justificar su robo. A mi me cobraron por un seguro de daños a espejo y parabrisas que jamás contrate y no me lo quisieron reembolsar. Son una bola de ratas y sinvergüenzas !
