OTP System Not Working in Pakistan, and Microsoft Launches Reward Program—What a Joke! 😂

It seems they are scamming those who earn Microsoft points. I earned 16,000 points for a $4.5 coupon code. When I tried to redeem my reward, I faced an OTP error. Pakistani users cannot add a phone number to their Microsoft accounts, as it is not allowed officially by Microsoft.

If you don't have an OTP system, why are you operating in Pakistan?

The second part is even more interesting. When I messaged chat support, they assured me the highlighted issue would be resolved in 5 days. Now, after around 15 days, nothing has happened. Then, they sent an email suggesting I try using a friend's phone number. I tried, and now they claim I violated policy. Wow! Thank you for wasting my 4 months, and I hope for a resolution soon.

Mi piacerebbe fare una recensione sull'assistenza, ma in mesi che provo a contattarli nessuno mi ha ancora risposto. Il mio account è stato sospeso "temporaneamente" (così c'è scritto). Nessuno mi ha spiegato le ragioni. Io non riesco a riattivarlo. Ho scritto non so quante volte all'assistenza. Ho mandato non so quanti ticket. 0. Niente. Ho contattato l'assistenza tramite chat che però non ha a che fare con rewards, quantomeno mi hanno risposto ma non hanno trovato soluzioni se non dirmi "riscrivigli e se non ti ricontattano entro 24h prova di nuovo". E ripeto che sono passati mesi. Sono frustrata. Non so quanti punti ero riuscita ad accumulare e probabilmente se mi riattiveranno mai il profilo avrò perso tutto. Veramente imbarazzante.

Sono stato iscritto a Microsoft Rewards per molto tempo, e mi stavo abituando piano piano ad usare Microsoft Edge che funziona abbastanza bene, ma bing è peggiore di Google (che non è affatto ottimo ma pazienza) e ovviamente Google funziona meglio in Chrome. Il fatto è che io viaggio molto, e quando dopo più di un anno di accumulare punti riscatto tutti i punti accumulati (8 euro in amazon, quindi nulla di speciale) mi rifiutano l'ordine del buono amazon. Scrivo per ricevere spiegazioni, e mi dicono che i punti che ho accumulato non sono validi perché li ho accumulati in diverse nazioni. Che senso ha? Quindi chi viaggia non può accumulare punti? Può avere tutte le ragioni di questo mondo, ma come si accorgono che viaggio e quindi mi rifiutano il valore dei punti accumulati in un anno, allo stesso modo notano che viaggio mentre accumulo punti... e perché mi permettono di accumulare punti? Praticamente è una presa in giro. Ci sono mille cavilli a cui fare attenzione nell'accumulare i punti, non solo la questione che non puoi viaggiare, ma loro ti fanno accumulare punti ugualmente, tanto sanno che i punti sono pochissimi e ci metterai un anno o più per decidere di utilizzarli, ed ecco che poi non saranno validi e loro ti hanno obbligato a usare Edge per un anno prendendoti in giro che potevi accumulare dei punti utili. Mi sono subito cancellato dal programma Microsoft Edge, è davvero una presa in giro. Possono avere tutte le giustificazioni che vogliono, contrattuali e quel che vogliono, ma avrebbero dovuto essere coerenti e NON permettere di accumulare punti quando stavo viaggiando. Così avrei visto subito il problema ed avrei valutato cosa fare, e soprattutto non mi sarei sentito preso in giro.

was completing searches daily to complete a jigsaw with 16 pieces for 1,000 points reward got to 9 jigsaw pieces and now the whole jigsaw has disappeared !! there is NO WAY to contact Microsoft rewards except by email which they acknowledge and then completely ignore . The " Customer Service advisors " are totally useless , IF they exist at all !!!

Failed to pay. "There's an issue with your account". Like Microsoft needs another £10 through refusing to pay, dismal, just dismal.

Anche a me è successo, mi hanno bloccato l'account senza motivo e non hanno risposto a due mail che ho mandato per avere spiegazioni, pessimo!!

They removed valorant points to add skype unlimited. Crazy.

Like many here, my rewards account was blocked; cannot collect points on the PC or on the XBOX. I obviously collected too many points. But I always redeemed them after reaching the goal. But it was fun and honestly saved money too. The reason might be that I took my PC with me on vacation and continued collecting from there; and VPN also seems to be a problem (in banking, home office, etc.) I started the request but, like many things, it will probably end up in the trash. What a pity.

HORRIBLEEEEEE THEY BLOCK YOUR ACCOUNT BECAUSE SR THEY SUSPECT YOU USED S VPN OR CHEATING BOTS WHEN YOU DONT AND THEY WHEN YOU TRY TO CONTACT THEM THEY DONT EVEN REPLY

I stopped using Microsoft rewards when it stopped recording my daily goals.
Recently started using it again and once again it's a mess... It's always the "use the Bing search engine" that doesn't record my efforts.
Waste of my time and after two or three attempts, I've made no progress and Bing looks better than it is cos they've now got three more searches to advertise and make out like there customers "Bing" their search terms.
Clearing cache doesn't work and I'm not willing to wait around for days for an advisor to tell me to "clear cache" again. By then I've lost my streak and all my effort. So irresponsible and unprofessional. Bing is literally only popular because of the scams they pull via Microsoft Rewards.
UPDATE (02/09/23)
So I lost my streak due to their website not registering me completing certain activities. This was maintained post-clearance of my cache and cookies. To quote a member of the rewards team who is assisting me:
"After personally reviewing your account, I have determined that the three activities required to continue your streak were not completed, resulting in its interruption. We have verified on our end and found no registered known issue with Microsoft Rewards during that day that would have prevented you from completing the activities."
"To resolve this issue, I am pleased to inform you that you are eligible for a one-time courtesy streak restoration."
So... They've used up a courtesy streak restoration and denied any fault in their end. Furthermore, my auto redeems have been cleared. Gone. Very strange. I imagine I just lose all my hard work the next time this happens?
If I have a problem like this again in the future, I will be screen recording any inevitable problems and uploading it to YouTube; I will be posting the links here every time it happens.

Fino a pochi giorni fa ho accumulato punti nel programma reward, al momento del riscatto premio ho scoperto che il mio account è stato bloccato. Ho inoltrato email e mi è stato risposto (come per altre persone) che ho violato il regolamento usando probabilmente un bot o macro o altro. Questo non è affatto vero e non hanno dato neanche il tempo di replicare. Così sono stato costretto ad aprire un nuovo ticket chiedendo anche le prove della mia violazione ma ovviamente a tutt'oggi non ho ricevuto nessuna risposta. Sono dei disonesti loro che guadagnano con i nostri click e quando si rendono conto le persone sono abbastanza costanti, ti bannano.

Ho usato Microsoft rewards fino a pochi giorni fa: purtroppo quando ho raggiunto la quota dei punti da riscattare, il mio account è stato cancellato! Ho chiesto spiegazioni e mi hanno detto che ho violato il loro contratto di servizio in punti che non corrispondono al mio comportamento. Non mi hanno dato una risposta di riscontro alle mie obiezioni. Credo che sia una truffa principalmente perché senza spiegazioni hanno detto di aver cancellato il mio account quando ancora i punti si stanno accumulando. Credo che non vogliono darmi il premio che volevo riscattare con i punti. Diffidate della Microsoft perché rispondono con email tradotte male e argomentazione non inerenti. Hanno appreso moltissimo da quella sola di Bill Gates.

Assistenza inesistente, poco competenti e se rispondono è una vera fortuna. Si è abbandonati a se stessi senza nessuna risoluzione al problema. Cortesia e rispetto rasenti allo zero. Dovrebbero darsi una regolata, facendo parte di un gruppo come Microsoft.
