In the summer of 2020, I decided to make a start with coding. In August 2020 I watched my first youtube tutorials and learned a bit of Bukkit's API. I did not understand what I was doing, and I even had no Java knowledge. Then in September 2020, I decided to help someone with a simple plugin. That was a very simple plugin but still took me 1 month to complete. In SpigotMC's Discord server I got for every question first an answer like: "Why are you asking such dumb questions" or "Learn Java". I just ignored that. Even without Java knowledge, I made 4 plugins and have posted them on SpigotMC. The code was very bad, and it took me lots of effort. The 5-star reviews were the thing that motivated me to continue coding. Until December 6th, 2020 this was my situation.

Some days before (December 3) I was just searching around on Google. I suddenly found MineAcademy's homepage. After signing up I saw that the course cost me €97. I thought: No way! That is way too much money. Then Matej gave me a 7-day trial period. While trying his course, I found out that this even was something for me. Also, Matej gave me a 25% discount, and that is what persuaded me to buy the training.

When I bought it on a Sunday, I started with Java Masterclass. Even while I had some Java knowledge, I just learned many new things. After 2 weeks I joined a Q&A call (every Saturday) and I understood that it is really important to join, because he will help you with all your questions! Sometimes those calls can take even more than 1 hour! After Java Masterclass was finished (around January - February 2021) I decided to test my knowledge and updated my plugins. In that period I saw that my plugins were such bad-coded and even broke on some things. I was able to understand errors and how the code works, so I could fix things very fast.

After a while (June 2021) I was able to update something I never thought about before: My API. This was a really great project and took me 2 months. I use it now as a framework for all my plugins. Even while Matej has Foundation, I was using my API. After I force had to use it (The BedWars plugin) I started understanding that this is really great. You can even contribute. That's why I am going to use it in my next projects, and even rebase my API on it.

I recommend the training for everyone who wants to create plugins (or create a great Minecraft server). Even if you already have Java knowledge, you can still learn great things you never heard before. Only watching Youtube tutorials is not that easy, and a frustrating process. Even if you don't have Minecraft you can just learn Java here. The videos are very clear.

Matej is a very good instructor and listens to his students. At the moment of writing, Matej is renewing the course. As a student, I wanted to know what he is going to do. He shared his plans with his students, and I just e-mailed him with things he could add/change in the new course. The Core training was an idea by me because I saw that for every course the first 2 weeks were boring repeating over and over. Now it is just 1 course, delivered with every package and if you decide to buy more courses you only have to do it once.

Now I have really good coding experience, and the community is also important. You can just ask your questions to all students, and they can try to help you with their knowledge. If we (students) can't find it out Matej is always there! Now I am also helping students with my knowledge, and sometimes I can even fix issues.

There are right now 2 packages:
- Java Masterclass (Learn Java) and Project Orion (Learn making plugins)
- NMSAdvanced (Dig deep into Minecraft's code)

Concluding: It's every penny worth it!

Hello, I am Student and part of the community 2+ years.. I want to tell you my story and also summarize the facts here:

I started and built enthusiasm to minecraft servers at 2015, continuing till now. What can I say.. I built over 100+ servers from then, many players has passed under my hand. I am happy for what I have proved to myself. But.. that was not enough for me. In 2019 I bought the course and my life changed completely, as the course includes personal development videos too, they helped me a lot, I can mange my life better now.. I have mindset on the right place, goals that I want to achieve every year and also a calendar plan. Beginning was hard, I mean, it is always, but I managed to go through it and I am here now, happy to help the beginners, because I know what is it like, you don't need to be afraid of asking, we are all here to help eachother, that's one of the + in there, we are like family. And I am not going to talk about the videos, there are a lot of them, features that are in, you will love and want to have them on your server. Work that Matej done and doing is absolutelly excellent and professional. If you don't know something: Discord, Skool platform, MineAcademy comments, Mail.. (there are also Q&A - Live Calls, which you can join, if you want to and ask your question in the chat or you can speak), one word, epic! After two years I've decided to finally release my first PREMIUM resource! Matej helped me to achieve it!

I can recommend this course to anyone.

When my son discovered MineAcademy and the brilliant curriculum that Matej put together, he realised he could create his own plugins if learned to code in Java.
Matej's training is brilliant: he has a communicative style that just gets people interested and wanting for more.
And more than the learning, Matej provides guidance on how to be disciplined and use your time in the most effective manner, for example keeping a logbook to track your learning and progress and energy levels.
A few days ago, my son bumped into an issue with his code and asked for Matej's help -- who recorded a 10-minute 1:1 focused video to help him troubleshoot. I watched the video, and Matej's dedication really impressed me.
I only watched small portions of the entire training, but it was enough to appreciate why my son enjoyed it so much.

Bottomline: if you're looking to learn some future coding skills (Java) with a second-to-none teacher (Matej) in a fun/creative environment (Minecraft) -- then look no more, MineAcademy is for you. It may seem a little pricey, but it will give you months of learning and if you value your time (or your kids' time), it is worth every penny.

Firstly, Matej explains stuff really well. One video gives you so much knowledge you think you would have watched 5.

Second, the thing that makes MineAcademy stick out from other sites is the foundation it uses. The foundation is very advanced, and makes coding plugins 100% easier. He teaches us the most efficient ways to code and test plugins. I'm not halfway through yet, but I needed to give my experience.

Criticism: Honestly, I think he could lower the price for future buyers. I bought this during the COVID sale (assuming someone post-Covid is reading this) and it was 114 dollars. The normal price is about 700 USD. That type of money is not exactly easy to get. If you're looking to get good at making plugins, go to udemy and buy the 20 dollar course. However, this is way better than the courses on youtube and udemy. That is just if you can't afford it.

The foundation he gives you the rights to use can be found nowhere else.

What qualifies Matej to teach you?

Well, he's sold multiple plugins and made a hit plugin called Chat Control. Go and search it up on Spigot, but I can quote one thing
"We're pushing to take less than 3 milliseconds to send a chat message. That's a whooping 0.003 second, so even having 150 players chatting at the same time will produce great results."

That type of plugins takes thousands of lines to code and thousands of hours of experience. I think that makes him qualified to teach you.

I began taking the MineAcademy courses a few months ago when I realized that everything that I wanted to accomplish on my server was impossible without having plugins coded specifically for me. My options were either I pay someone else to give me a buggy product that doesn’t perfectly match my vision or I achieve my vision myself by learning how to code in Java. I decided on the latter. After only a couple of months taking this class, I already have 3 of my own plugins on my server, more in the works, and I recently released my first public resource which has already gained massively positive recognition. This class doesn’t just teach you how to write plugins for Minecraft. This class teaches you how to make quality code that is bug free and innovative. Alongside that, Matej is an insightful teacher who teaches clearly and puts immense effort into the quality of his content and the level of your code. I would recommend this class to anyone who wants to learn java, owns a Minecraft server, or release plugins publicly

I have now made it a requirement for developers on my Minecraft server to have done the Java dev course with MineAcademy. Now they will know what they are doing and all be on the same page. I recommend this course.
