Highly recommend

We moved into our new home in the summer and it’s been amazing from day one! The system already started saving us money and is working perfectly. The team were brilliant from start to finish. So friendly, professional, and really easy to deal with. The installers on the day were so polite and great with the kids! Everything was explained clearly, and the whole process was smooth and stress-free. Overall, excellent service and great results. We’re really pleased and would happily recommend mini grid for anyone else wanting to get panels.

Beware - Do Not Trust/Use
My system has not worked properly since day of installation 4 months ago and is still faulty.
I don't have any MCS, DNO or SEG certificates as they have completely stopped communicating.
I've been a massive fan of solar and renewable technologies but my experience with MiniGrid has sapped all enthusiasm for this.

Good communication at the beggining but issues and warning signs started on day on installation where the design didn't seem right. Missing parts, bit of mess left, installers cracked a tile and didn't report it, installer leaving site without it fully commisioned as there was problems connecting to the inverter.
After three weeks the inverter was finally online but output was only 15% of expected output. The subsequent engineer visits have improved that somewhat but some of the panels still produce zero power.

After a couple of half-hearted engineer visits over another month, both Directors of the Company have subsequently missed every callback they promised and ignored messages. Only got them on the phone once by calling from a different number and promised a callback, which you guessed it; didn't happen.

A picture of our install is actually on their website under a different name, claiming values of export payments we can't do at all because they never gave us paperwork for it (And that it wouldn't give that value even if it was working).

Unfortunately it now appears they designed the system wrong from the outset and they lack the technical expertise to understand why this solution would not have worked. All of the installers and engineers they sent were all sub-contracted so appears no certified in-house knowledge. None of that would be so bad if they had owned and fixed their mistake instead of what appears to be doing a cut and run with the money.

Other than once or twice on ebay i don't think i've ever had to leave a bad review but i feel compelled to warn anyone considering this company or one run by the Directors.

Firstly, we’ve now forwarded your DNO approval via email, which you can use to register for your SEG. We cannot do this for you unfortunately however we’ve sent instructions via email on how to do this. If you run into any difficulties or need help with the process, please don’t hesitate to get in touch — we’re happy to help.

This installation was originally arranged through one of our fully MCS-accredited partner companies. Unfortunately, and without our prior knowledge, they subcontracted the work — something we do not condone. As soon as we became aware of the situation and the issues with your system, we stepped in to help, even though the problems stemmed from work carried out by others.

Despite this not being a fault of our own team, we’ve sent engineers to your property on three separate occasions at our own cost to try to fix the system — all while dealing with an ongoing legal dispute with the contractor responsible. These visits were made in good faith, and our sincere intention has always been to get your system working properly.

Unfortunately, the contractor is now withholding the MCS certificate and demanding additional payment, which we will not agree to until the job is completed to the required standard. We believe this is unfair to both us and to you, and we are currently in legal proceedings to resolve the matter. We are doing everything we can to ensure a fair and lawful outcome that gives you the system — and paperwork — you deserve.

Regarding the image on our website: it was uploaded by our marketing team as part of a batch update and was never intended to misrepresent your experience. We sincerely apologise if it added to your frustration and will have it removed.

Please know that we have not walked away. We’re still here, and we care deeply about putting this right — not just for you, but to protect the trust of all our customers. While the legal process limits what we can do or say in the short term, our long-term commitment is unchanged.

So glad i went with mini grid

After speaking with several companies this one mini grid stood out , I asked Matt if he could contact me in 4 mths once I got my end sorted ,he did . After a quote I looked around again spoke to several more companies and and because of Matt and a chat with Alex my mind was made up . The install was great from scaffolding,roofers,and then electricians highly professional team went without any problems very happy . I am now being helped with best set ups and best tariffs, know help is a phone call away is very important.
I would like to thank mini grid and the team for a no pressure attuide approach I really could not be happier from the start to finish with these guys

Excellent company, highly recommend

Outstanding Experience with MiniGrid

I recently had solar panels installed by MiniGrid and I couldn’t be happier with them. From the very first conversation to the final installation, their team was professional, transparent, knowledgeable, and truly cared about delivering the best service possible. A particular thank you to Harley who dealt with me from the initial consultation and was even here during the install ensuring everything was going smoothly.

Harley walked me through all my options regarding the systems and financial benefits! I was impressed with the proposal and all the information it showed me. The installation team was on time, professional, and left everything spotless when they finished work! They even took the time to explain how everything works and what to expect moving forward. The install took under 2 days which was impressive!

My system is up and running and I’m already seeing savings on my energy bill.
The service I have received and continue to receive is great, they’re just a phone call away if I have any questions and I will be recommending these guys to anyone that’s looking for solar!

Out Standing Customer Care

Alex has been fantastic a very conscientious young man who takes time to explain things nothing has been too much trouble. It doesn’t matter how many times he may have to explain about the solar panels etc. He is a breath of fresh air in the this day and age because he wants to make sure his customers are happy with their purchase and he is always at the end of the phone for any queries.
I highly recommend Minigrid.
