No contact after 3 working days of order placement despite website stating orders will be dispatched within this time or you will be contacted, email sent with no reply. Second email sent the next day, still no response. The following day refund received with no explanation. Poor customer service, would not have liked to have had an issue with an order I had actually received. Will shop elsewhere in future.
In response to your reply how have I had a refund then if I never placed an order? Lying now as well as poor service - great business!!

I am very happy with my purchases from Modern Furniture Direct. I ordered a dining table and chairs, TV unit and sideboard all in oak. The quality is outstanding and was delivered in just a few days. I was kept in touch by email and phone regarding delivery. I would not hesitate to order from this company again and would certainly recommend.

I ordered the Monaco Rattan Garden Furniture [Semi Circle Sofa Set] i spoke with the company before ordering as another company had let me down, stock was confirmed and paid for, a few days later it arrived well packaged.

I purchased two items from Modern Furniture Direct about 6 weeks ago, I was more than happy with the whole purchasing process delivery time and the actual items delivered.
Unfortunately one of the items developed a manufacturing fault that only became apparent to me later and there is no way the Modern Furniture Direct could have been aware of it. I was allowed to inspect the item myself on delivery and didn't spot the problem so how could they.
Anyway I contacted the company via email attaching photos and received a response from Lucy within the hour. She was very apologetic and immediately arranged for a replacement and even arranged for the returning item to be repackaged. She kept me fully informed via email and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you Lucy!
The replacement item was delivered as promised using their excellent courier service who allowed me time to inspect the item.
You only know how good a company is when you have a problem and this company and their customer service are excellent.

I ordered a rattan patio dining set via eBay, complete with cushions and parasol/base.
My order was confirmed very quickly and delivery was estimated at one week.
In the event, my furniture arrived 48 hours later, on a pallet, really well packaged, and the delivery driver was friendly and helpful in manoeuvring the pallet to our preferred location.
The chairs came made up, so just the table to assemble. Instructions were included, together with all the fixings in a neat little bag.
The furniture is excellent quality and looks really nice...just what we wanted. As a bonus, the set comes with a cover for protection during winter months.
One small issue was resolved very quickly by the excellent customer service team.
My overall experience of Modernfurnituredirect is very positive. Excellent quality product at a very reasonable price, with a very helpful and efficient customer service team.
I have no hesitation in recommending this company...thanks

I bought a set of 6 dining chairs to replace worn out leather covering.
We used only 4 of them regularly and when we has reason to use all the chairs, one was discovered to have a loose joint where the back was loosely fixed to the chair seat. I informed the company of the problem, they asked for a short video showing the fault. They immediately accepted responsibility and I had a replacement chair sent by them. I was impressed by the speed of their return
services. Well done.

I stumbled across the "just what we were looking for" patio lounger set just as my husband found it on the Wayfair website HOWEVER it was £400 cheaper with Modern Furniture and included a parasol and a cover which the Wayfair set did not. I have no bugbear with Wayfair. Never ordered from them and they get fab reviews whereas Modern Furniture"s reviews are a little hit and miss. After much deliberation we decided that the £400 price differential plus parasol and cover just had to be worth a punt. We are delighted. Online order placed, confirmation prompt. Within 2 days we had the delivery date confirmed. Arrived as scheduled. The packaging was phenomenal. No damage and the whole set is just perfect. We are absolutely delighted with no complaints whatsoever and just felt I needed to add a review.

It seems that with Modern Furniture Direct you are rolling the dice with whether or not you get a damaged/defective product.

I received a majorly defective/disjointed table and contacted them. The communication is horrendous. At the most you get acknowledgement that they will exchange the product for you. But then nothing else. Giving you empty hope.

There is no after sales support and no effort to resolve customer issues.

Buying from them is a risk and you better hope that you have no issues with your purchase. Unfortunately my first and last order from them has left me extremely dissatisfied.

I strongly advise that you pay the little extra and purchase elsewhere with better customer service. I will never use them again and want to share my experience so that others don't get left with sub par products.

We recently ordered a Valentino Dining Suite from Modern Furniture Direct, we placed the order on a Sunday evening and got delivery the following Friday (5 days later).
The delivery guys were polite and very good, carrying all the items through to our conservatory for us.
I put the items together on the Saturday morning, all went well apart from 3 of the chairs has a slight fault on the backs, (the leather had not bonded correctly so was showing a bubble effect)
I called MFD on Monday to report the fault, I spoke to Lucy who was extremely helpful, she requested I sent pictures of the 3 faulty chairs. I took pictures and emailed them, without any delay once she had viewed them she called me to offer an exchange, I arranged to call at their premises to swap them over,
I called on the Wednesday morning, Lucy had arranged everything to perfection, the replacement items were waiting for me,
I would recommend this company for value for money & customer service.

AVOID AT ALL COST - CUSTOMER SERVICE AND AFTERCARE SHOCKING!!!!! Ordered 6 black Montana Black Leather chairs. These chairs have lost their SCROLL TOP EFFECT and the LEATHER has started to SAG. I contacted customer services and emailed over images of the defects and eventually after many weeks of trying to sort this out I spoke to Sean and then Sophie, where I was advised that these defected chairs would be REPLACED. To then be told that these items are apparently defected down to wear and tear, which they are only used occasionally and are in immaculate condition. Clearly the leather has NOT been bonded correctly and this is why they have defected. I was then told that this decision NOT to replace was made by Sophie's Manager Chris Lloyd who conveniently was not available to speak to!! I have asked for a transcript of my conversations with Oak Furniture King and particular the conversation with Sophie who confirmed that these defected items would be replaced!!!

Waiting for Chris or the MD Khaled Ullah to call me back?????!!!!!

No phone calls, no explanations. I ordered a desk from them too that was in stock when ordered and then out of stock once paid for. I wonder how long it will take to get my money back! Maybe I have just been unlucky but I have never had this problem anywhere else i have shopped.

Great furniture at great prices, Sean always answers questions promptly and professionally, I have purchased 3 times from these guys and delivery has always been prompt and on the day they said they would deliver, I really couldn’t be happier,

The experience was excellent from ordering to despatch. The delivery was speedy. Very happy with dealing with this company.

Stay clear of this unprofessional company (headed up by ALM Distribution). I ordered an 8 seater patio table and chairs in May and on the first day of good weather (24 degrees) it could be clearly seen that the whole rattan had sagged - under the glass table top and on the arms of the chairs. This rectified itself when it cooled off, but it's designed for use in fine weather?

The cover is also far from the "waterproof" stated and what's worst of all is a complete lack of effort by the company to answer communication and address any customer gripes. They wouldn't even accept/publish the honest review I completed on their website.

Next step is to take one of the company directors to court.
