Great place, but BEWARE of their strict full-deposit with 60-day cancellation policy!! We changed our reservation by a few weeks, but they treated that as a "cancellation" instead of a modification... もっず芋る

We have 28 rooms. 12 Forest View Downstairs, 12 Forest View Balcony, 3 Garden View and 1 Superior Garden View. All rooms have free wireless internet. All rooms do not have air conditioning or television, so you can appreciate the sounds of the tropical cloud forest. The service style is personalized, informal, caring. Our food is what a Costa Rican grandmother would cook if she was also a creative and contemporary professional chef. The atmosphere in our lodge is quiet, laid back and tranquil with an open fireplace. Our bar serves up creative cocktails. Like the JigÃŒiro, with fresh guava juice, rum, triple sec and squeezed lemon. Suggested activities while you’re at the lodge, explore the gardens, with La Posa de Doña Yolanda solar-heated pool, the main fern and bromeliad garden. Among the suggested activities in the area are hiking or bird watching with a naturalist guide, horseback riding, and zip-lining or hiking through the canopy. We suggest you spend between 2-4 nights with us.

Very relaxing place to stay

Very relaxing place to stay, friendly & helpful staff. Loved the butterfly room and look forward to a romantic dinner there in future!

Great hotel

Great hotel, clean and comfortable accommodations as well as beautiful grounds and pool. The food and drinks were delicious too. Great back patio for breakfast. Love the butterfly sanctuary.Close enough to walk to town. The staff was friendly and helpful. Can’t wait to go back.

Wonderful lodge

Wonderful lodge, great accommodations, great food and outstanding service. The excursions were fantastic.
I would return in a heartbeat.

Outstanding Hotel

Staying here was the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. The lodge is rustic (it is a LODGE), but immaculately clean and well kept. The grounds are gorgeous and the food outstanding. (My husband said it was the best tuna he ever had!). My husband had a minor medical emergency (which we were afraid could have escalated to something more serious). The staff were very helpful to me (in spite of the language barrier; I needed a specific over the counter drug ) and my husband was well enough to resume our vacation the next day. Can't say enough of good things about this place.

Everything was special

Everything was special. Our family was 10 with 4 children. Every meal had our table ready and special meals/drinks for the children. The lodge handled everything -- tours, sights, travel, etc. A hassle free experience. Plus close to the small town for walking around.
