Moontel is a global eSIM service built to make mobile data more accessible, flexible and affordable. With one Moontel eSIM, users can stay connected across 218 countries and use the same eSIM trip after trip. Moontel combines a free and paid model. With the free option, users can earn mobile data by completing available online surveys instead of purchasing a traditional data plan. After creating a profile, Moontel shows surveys that may match the user’s demographic and location. Successfully completed surveys generate value that can be converted into mobile data. Survey availability, qualification and rewards can vary depending on the user’s profile, country and the requirements of each individual research study. A survey may screen out or disqualify a participant if they do not match the target audience required by the research provider, even after the survey has started. This is a normal part of online market research and does not mean that every available survey can be successfully completed by every user. For users who prefer immediate connectivity without completing surveys, Moontel also offers paid mobile data plans, while keeping the same eSIM. This makes Moontel a freemium eSIM service: users can choose to earn data for free, purchase data when they need it, or combine both options. I tested Moontel and really like the idea behind it. Instead of buying another travel eSIM every time I travel, you can earn mobile data through surveys and keep the same eSIM installed.
The platform is still improving, but so far my experience has been positive.

The concept is really cool, especially if you travel often and don’t want to pay for mobile data every time. My main issue was that a few surveys screened me out because I didn’t fit the target profile. It can be frustrating, but I understand that this is how market research works. Considering the app is still in beta, I think 4 stars is fair.
